I am in the last week of my job as a school teacher. We get out next week. YEA!
Things get kind of hard at this time of the year so I take time to do a little of my art.
Last week, I uploaded some of my art work to the Internet and showed the different steps of the work while creating it to the final drawing.. well maybe the end.. Anyway! Was thinking maybe some of you in here just might be interested in a look.

Below are a few samples of the work in process....

First one saved -----

White Night 1

Few steps ahead -----
White Night 3

Maybe the last step, if I can call it quits here that is....

White Night 6a

Well few more steps were placed in and this above is the current final. I think the work is starting to look over worked and tired. That is what you have to watch out for as you work with anything - painting, drawing or even creating a good meal. ... (hungry.. must find food!)

Wow Patti - great paintings. I'm not an artist by any means, but I do know that doing portraits is very hard...finding just that right balance when drawing the face - it's tough! I did take an art class in college, and did better than I thought (instruction always helps), but I would always need it - it doesn't flow from my hands!

thank you again for your kind words on my art work. I have email you each for stopping by.

Hey OGal, Do try it.. you never know what you can do till you try. Dont worry about matching real life with what you see. Art is part how you feel at that second in time and what you see. Try different ways to express yourself! There are many ways as drawing, charcoal, watercolor, computer art program, and many others are only doors out there to open and explore within.

Hi Patti,
This is great. I was going to post a comment on your last blog about the left handed drawings. I still want to try that again. Maybe this time we could have Crab try drawing with his foot? lol

I know I've asked you before (and I wrote it down somewhere.. where did i put it? lol) about what program you're using. Last summer I was sent to this place, TuxPaint .. This is a great, free open source drawing program for kids (of all ages!! kids like M~E). Fun sound effects and fun to play with.
you said, "if I can call it quits here that is...." ... that's the hard part for me, knowing when to stop. One of the joys of computer art is that you can save work before changes and go back to before u didn't stop.
:o)

The program I currently use is called Painter Classic.... I can deal with it's problems but will not say it is a good one to buy. I have to reset the size of my brushes each time I leave to go to a different tool and then come back to the tool I was using in the first place.

My fav program but not loaded on the newer computer is called Dabbler put out by Fractal Design. It has a notebook in it that you can save your work to, plus different types of sounds that each tool, brush, pen, or pencil makes as you move between the tools.

If you are left hand, you can move the pointer on the mouse to point in other direcions. I really love the darn thing. I just have missed placed my CD to load it onto the new computer!!
Now saying all of that.. if I dont find my old program... I may start over again. One program that is a big hit with many computer artists is Ambient Design’s ArtRage 2.2

Like it's name, it seems to be all the rage now. Where I heard folks singing of Dabbler, those folks are now singing of ArtRage.
They say it acts move like a REAL brush and paint as stuff mixes when you paint over it. like you paint blue over a yellow, you will get a green color where they over lap. Now that sounds like a program to check out!! THEN you add to the fact it does not cost an arm and a leg to buy!! Hey for 20 bucks.. I can order more for my classroom. That is AFTER I order new wacom pads and pens, throwing out the old mouse critter currently by my computers!

Patti, keep workin on the diet. The sugar is far more important and you have it in check. Just move on from here. You have the right mind set. You'll lose the weight.
