Yesterday Abbey and me took advantage of the warmer day and had a short walk. There's a back lane on the route we took and I let Abbey go for a free run. As soon as I unleashed her she took off running but was waiting for me at the end of the lane. That dog is always by my side and never strays too far on her free runs.

Hello Plapman,

How are you? Our dog Carlos, the 5 yr old Havanese, is pretty good off leash - always returns when I call and keeps an eye on me to always know where I am so we don't get separated for any distance. Our dog Simba, the 14 yr old Cock-a-Poo, is a different story. If off leash she will just take off into a field and not come back when I call. There have been times when I have chased her for approximately a mile before finally catching her. She doesn't realize that this behaviour will strictly limit her off leash time.

Recovering from surgery so will be home from work for six to eight weeks. Body has to relearn certain functions.

Your weather is somewhat similar to the Edmonton area if a tad cooler.

Take care of yourself and Abbey. TTYL!
