Today will be overcast with a northwest wind at 30 km/h gusting to 50 becoming light late this afternoon. The high will be 21C(70F).
Tonight will start mainly cloudy then clearing after midnight as the temperature falls to 9C(48F).

Last night we had a severe thunderstorm warning. I was outside ensuring the eve trough downpipe extensions were in place, as sometimes the great granddaughters remove them, when there was a bright flash and almost immediately followed by a crack of thunder. I haven't heard thunder that loud since I saw a strike in the ditch beside the highway I was driving on. it turned out the storm only lasted minutes. Other parts of southern Manitoba reported golf ball sized hail, we were lucky as no hail fell.

At least you have a nice sunny day today, Tony! Cool, too! A nice day for a walk, IMO!

Take care!

Good very early morning, Tony. Yup those kinds of storms are nice to see pass through quickly but that first close clap of thunder can make ya jump when your not expecting it. Had a few storms like that go through on the wknd but in a matter of min, dumped about an inch of rain. Some boomers were loud enough to rattle the windows on the house.

Clear skies so far today and nice cool temps for the remainder of the week. No complaints to see the end of July in sight. Have a great Tuesday dear ones.

Good Morning, Plap!

Glad you were a safe enough distance away from that loud lightning crack while checking on those exterior downpipe extensions last night! Yikes, I would have jumped out of my skin before hightailing it into the safest interior room of my house! LOL!

Sounds like you, your Queen and even Alley have recently been considering all the benefits to residential downsizing now that age, circumstances and exterior upkeep have begun to catch up. Truthfully, I've been giving it some careful thought myself, but hubby's not yet ready to throw in the towel. Nevertheless, I hope that, if you decide to move, your new apartment/condo. allows for pets, doesn't charge exhorbitant fees for its interior/exterior maintenance nor includes too strict by-laws/policies set by management. Something to consider before one finally decides to sign on the dotted line! Understandably, at this point, you want to keep life simple, affordable and convenient without foresaking all of your former simple pleasures.
