There's now news here either, Tony! Well, there may be news, but I choose to ignore it, lol!

Looks nice up there! Hope you're out there with Abbey!

Good evening Tony. Been scorching hot here with humidex reading of l09 today. Much the same until the wknd when a cold front moves in from our North. Can't wait for it. This weather is bad for anyone to be out in.

Makes sense to be on the main floor again for sleeping. The Queen is always right and is looking out for you. As for the trip to the bathroom. It's much the same here, through the livingroom, kitchen then bathroom. By the time you get there, you are fully awake...LOL

Have a great evening dear ones. Stay cool

Quoting plapman:
Good Morning Mass.
The main reason the Queen moved our sleeping quarters to the main floor was to make it easier for the paramedics. In the basement they had to carry me up in a little chair. it made for quite a ride with me tipped forward looking down the stairs.
I've always liked the basement arrangement as the washroom was right next to our bedroom but now I have to walk through the living room and kitchen to use it during the night.
Have a good day.

Good Afternoon, Tony!

Now this change to the upstairs makes perfect sense! It seems the layouts or accommodations to some homes can pose unexpected difficulties for those suddenly needing emergency access to and from. Two years ago, hubby and I had to have a large sliding glass door installed off our back diningroom area, due to the poor layout of both our front and back door areas. Each regular door faces either a coat closet (in the front) or a basement door (across from the back), so we're left with only 3 ft of room in-between to turn either left or right into another room. The new slider now provides us with straight-forward emergency access if either of us requires a stretcher to a waiting ambulance. Hubby and I are also not fans of those tipsy emergency chairs that are used when there's absolutely no other choice. One is usually under enough duress at that time as it is!

Sorry that your upstairs bedroom requires you to trapse much further to the nearest bathroom in the middle of the night. Not the easiest maneuvering to do while half asleep.

I'm wondering if your youngest daughter, living at home, has requested a swap to your old basement bedroom; especially, when your son-in-law did such a fantastic job, last year, remodeling your downstairs bath. It could quite lessen the time-share of your upstairs bathroom in the mornings. I remember what it was to be a female teen even if it was in the "Stone-Age". LOL!

In the meantime, hope you're doing reasonably well and finding ways to beat the heat or any severe storms! We have four more days of this hot oppressive stuff until a cold front finally moves through later Saturday. We have severe t'storm warnings already posted for that time. Next week looks absolutely gorgeous again if we can survive the outcome. LOL!

Take care, stay well and have a safe, decent day!
