Today I'm going to play with the tablet and learn a bit about the Android OS. If I can do it I'll post tommorows blog from the tablet.
Yesterday tried to change the non chiming quartz movement in the schouse clock I bought at a garage sale this summer for a chimimg one I have in the hoard. It didn't work.:(. The non chiming movement isn't sceed in placee but is glued or screwed from under the face and I didn't want to destroy the original. I'll have to keep an eye open for a nother case or come summer build my own.
Reading the local obituaries I see my generation is starting to die off. In the last month there has been 3 people I went to school with leave. I guess as long as I can read about the friends demise I'm doing good.
As I heard from a fellow sharing the liar's bench the other day, getting old isn't for sissys.

You know you're getting old when everything hurts. And what doesn't hurt doesn't work.

***
Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.

Just be happy your still kickin' I know I am even though I complain a lot about aches and pains. Still better than being a kid and having to go through life again....

Oh yeah, my Mom is going through that. More and more of her poker and Bridge buddies are dropping off. Guess that's why she stays on the phone so much longer now.

Laughing at Bug's comment. It is true that the longer we survive, the fewer old buddies are around. It was one of the things that really bothered my mom. By the time she died, all of her friends and most relatives were gone. I'd like a nice, long and happy life, but when I think about getting to be a hundred or more, I'm not so very enthusiastic. It's the rare person who keeps their faculties, and I'm not a fan of hanging around in a wheelchair or hospital bed for years.

But - that's not my issue today. My first issue is getting up and going over to wind the grandmother clock - you reminded me of it and I see the weights have disappeared. If I don't do it pronto, it'll stop running!

Hi, Tony.

After we reach a certain age, our friends, family and acquaintences do seem to start dropping like flies.

What is really scary is when you see obits on folks that are 5, 10, 15 or more years younger!

Hubby pointed out an obit earlier this week. The fellow was only in his late 40's. I thought of him as one of the kids we knew.

Checking the obits is the first thing I do when I open our paper in the mornings. If I'm not in there, I go ahead with my day. When the day comes that I AM in there, I'm going back to bed.
