Retired and loving it. If I'd have known about retirement befor I started my 40 year career with the government of Manitoba I'd have retired first. :)

I never got Abbey out for her walk yesterday. I thought the 30 degree weather would be a bit much for her.
The Queen has given me another project to keep me off the front lawn rating the young ladies in their shorts. She has found a free website which has a book for her genealogy project. The book has 74 sections and each has to be downloaded in text format so that she can read it on her new ebook reader. Yesterday i did 16 sections before she made me quit after 2 hours. Each section contains up to 20 pages. I'll be busy for a while.:) and so will she reading the book.
it looks like I'm going to have to cut the back lawn today and get my pump up from the basement into the garage. I have some grass that needs patching on both lawns. I guess I'll have to do the back lawn in small sections so that the little girls can play out there without getting muddy from the extra watering it will need.
Tomorrow we have a dinner to attend. It's to celebrate the 20 anniversary of the Citizen's on Patrol Program. I was the statistician for the group for 11 of those years keeping track of who went on patrol, the time they spent and the mileage they put in. The city pays for the mileage the volunteers to cover the cost of fuel. I had to quit participating in the group after my first stroke due to vision problems. It will be good to see the members I have worked with and it should be a good evening with a meal and entertainment.
