Another quiet day on the prairie.
I did get Abbey out for her walk and met a coffee buddy and his wife goung the other way. I think they take the same route as I do but in reverse. It sure would be nice to get the Queen to travel the gopher trails with Abbey and me but she says I walk too fast for her. I guess that after ovwe 10 years of doing a daily dog walk my legs are in pretty good shape.
Last night I opened another package of Jumping Bean coffee. This was their east coast blend. I'm definately goung to have to place an order and get some shipped out. It's another item I can add to the bakery menu. :)
I think today I'll get back to the covered wagon project. With the warm temps we've been experiancing i should be able to get into the garage and cut some wood for a shelf to display the completed project.
Well just about time to see if I can get back to sleep. The acheing from the shingles has kept me awake since 3am.

Shingles: Tips for managing

When talking about shingles, dermatologists recommend the following to their patients:
Pain relief
To relieve the pain and itching of shingles, you can:

Cool the rash with ice packs, cool wet cloths, or cool baths.
Apply calamine lotion to the blisters.
Cover the rash with loose, non-stick sterile bandages.
Wear loose cotton clothes around the body parts that hurt.

Good afternoon Tony...yup just getting on here now, been a busy morning cutting veggies and preparing all for a nice beef stew this afternoon. I woke up at 5:20 this morning after turning out the lights at 1:30 but fortunately went back to bed just before 7 and managed to sleep until almost l0:30. Hope you are able to get some rest today yourself. Wish there was something I could recommend to give you relief from shingles but I have no idea what you could do or use other than to numb the area. Hopefully they will pass quickly for you.

Have a great day working on your projects. The snow we got overnight ( about an inch) is all gone with these mild temps. At least without a deep frost level, it sure is soaking into the ground fast.

Good Afternoon Plap!

Sorry it's taken me so long to find my way back onto your blogsite again, as my recent two-week illness and then more familial debacles have recently intervened.

I'm also sorry that your case of shingles is making it painfully difficult to get a good night's rest. Hope that this is something that can be soon alleviated with meds and/or some other safe method! I'd hold off on drinking your special (caffeinated?) brew from mid-afternoon on, even though coffee can sometimes help with the usual aches and pains) for you need all the relaxation and rest you can get overnight.

Hope you're "covered wagon project" is successful, but pace yourself while working on it. I can relate to the Queen's current feelings about taking brisk walks. I need to build up my body strength as well, but have not found the time to do that just yet. Hopefully, by springtime, I'll feel more inspired.
