By: plapman , 10:08 AM GMT on August 02, 2011

Today will start with a mix of sun and cloud then becoming sunny this morning The wind becoming northwest 20 km/h (12 mph) gusting to 40 km/h (25 mph) early this morning then light late this afternoon. Todays high will be28C(82F). UV index 8 or very high.
Tonight will be clear with an overnight low of 13C(55F).

What a terrible surprize I had this morning.
I gor up at 2:30 to the call of nature and on the way to the washroom I stepped in something cold and wet. I turned on the basement lights and found water in the carpet. When I woke the Queen to tell her she said we had a real downpour last night. I never heard a thing. It looks like I have a cleanup todo when she gets up.

Hi Tony, dang but that's not fun to wake up to. Sounds like Mass has the water gremlins too.

Guess we all need to throw a pinch of salt over our shoulders to ward off the crummy luck.

Hi Tony, sorry to hear you've got a mess on your hands there. I hope it didn't ruin much. What a terrible thing to wake up to, but hoping your day got a bit better as it went on. We're facing some rough storms this afternoon, too, ugh.

Take care!

Not a fun clean-up Tony. That is one good thing about living here in Florida we have no basements. If we get water it is right where we are living. During the hurricane season of 2004 I got lots and lots of water leaking through my damaged roof. Tell the Queen I sent her a message. Have a happy afternoon Tomy.

Hi Tony!

Sorry you've been enlisted into the mop and bucket brigade by a random storm last night. Hubby and I had to take turns manning a bucket in order to flush a suddenly broken toilet the other night around 3:00 am. So relieved when the plumber promptly showed up to fix it around 9:00 am. FUN TIMES -- EH?

Nevertheless, hope there wasn't too much water damage caused by this unexpected event and that you don't overdo it to impress the Queen. I think she'd certainly understand if you asked her for assistance in this janitorial undertaking.

Hope your weather will be pleasantly warm and sunny during the cleaning and airing out process.

Good morrning, Tony, sorry to hear that you had a wet surprise this morning. Is the neighbor's driveway draining as advertised, or did the water come from your own house? Either way, looks like a tedious day ahead of you.
Take care!

So sorry to hear of the basement flooding.Nothing is worse, its one thing to get rid of the water but the wet mildew will be hard to take until it dries out completely. What a mess. You are going to have to get some of that spray foam and try to close up those areas where water can come in before the next big storm. Good luck with it. Only thing you can do for a while is open a window down there to help it dry out but that will mean closing that area off for the AC to run. I will be thinking of ya...
