I really enjoyed my last Citizens on Patrol meeting last night. The mayor of Portage was present as well as the Inspector heading the Portage detachment of the RCMP.
I was presented with a document from Manitoba Public Insurance thanking me for my 11 years service as statistion as well as a plaque from the local group thanking me for my contribution to the group over the years.
The Inspector informed the group that he is going to Afganistan for 9 months with NATO to act as senior police trainer for the Afgan police. I think thats quiet an honor for him and will certainly help his career. At the mayor's request when he is finished his duties there he will be returning to Portage.

Tony, that's wonderful, and quite an honor. I think it's great when groups honor people for their contributions in a public way. When I was much younger I'd kind of laugh at it, but not any more. There are a lot of "behind the scenes" people who deserve a lot more credit than they ever get publicly. I'm glad you had your night!

Did the Queen get to go with you? Or was she working?

Our morning is all fog and drizzle, but it ought to clear up eventually. Have a good one!

Congratulations Tony on your achievements. A good citizen award is always nice to have.

Cold and clear here again today with temps rising up to the 30+ range today. I am so tired of all this cold weather. My bones ache, guess its a sign of old age...LOL

Have a wonderful day my dear friend and take care. Keep warm and keep well.
