I woke up this morning with difficulty moving my left leg and more vision loss. A trip to emergency confirmed another stroke. I'm sure getting to be a pain in the butt for the Queen. Luckily I can still read my screen and am still mobile. The emergency room doctor is fast tracking my next appointment with my own doctor and a trip to Winnipeg in the near future for another ultra sound of the clot living in my heart that is causing all the problems. This thing is not going to beat me!

Today is Monday, Feb. 22, the 53rd day of 2010. There are 312 days left in the year.

Today's Highlight in History:

On Feb. 22, 1980, the "Miracle on Ice" occurred in Lake Placid, N.Y. as the United States Olympic hockey team upset the Soviets, 4-3. (The U.S. team went on to win the gold medal.)

On this date:

In 1732 (New Style date), the first president of the United States, George Washington, was born in Westmoreland County in the Virginia Colony.

In 1784, a U.S. merchant ship, the Empress of China, left New York for the Far East to trade goods with China.

In 1810, according to some sources, Polish composer Frederic Chopin was born. (Chopin, however, claimed March 1 as his birthday.)

In 1862, Jefferson Davis, already the provisional president of the Confederacy, was inaugurated for a six-year term following his election in Nov. 1861.

In 1909, the Great White Fleet, a naval task force sent on a round-the-world voyage by President Theodore Roosevelt, returned after more than a year at sea.

In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge delivered the first radio broadcast from the White House as he addressed the country over 42 stations.

In 1940, the 14th Dalai Lama (Tenzin Gyatso) was enthroned at age four in Lhasa, Tibet

Sorry to hear about the 2nd stroke. Sounds like your doctors are right on the ball. You have a good attitude about all this. That's everything you know. I don't claim to understand why, but your attitude seems to make a major impact on your health. Prayers are going your way.

Good evening Tony. Just found out about the newest setback. Having the right attitude is what it takes to beat this and you certainly have it. Sounds like they may have to put you on both coumadin and plavix to get this clot disolved. I am sure the Queen is worried about you and that she does not mind being there to help you as much as she can. Glad you are being fasttracked to your specialist in this matter. Just take care of yourself and hurry up and get better. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your dear family. BIG HUGS

Tony, you've got a big circle of friends near you, and a bigger circle a little farther from you who are keeping you in their prayers. This isn't easy, I know, but we're going to hope you get past this new set of problems sooner rather than later.

Take it easy, and let us know how things are going as you can.
