Still Snowing On The Prairie

By: plapman, 2:24 PM GMT on November 29, 2013

Today will be cloudy with a 60% chance of flurries the wind will be southeast at 30 km/h becoming light this afternoon. Today's high will be -6C(21F).
Tonight will be mainly cloudy with a low of -12C(10F).
-------------------------------------------------
Yesterday on my walk with Abbey she caught sight of her first winter bunny. If she hadn't been still leashed she would have been out on the gopher trails in the snow in a race she could never win. I'm sure those bunnies tease her by letting her get close then shifting into high gear.

More Snow On The Northern Edge

By: plapman, 2:43 PM GMT on November 28, 2013

Today will see flurries in the morning then clearing. The high will be -11C(12F).
Tonight will bring increasing cloudiness early this evening and an overnight low of -20C(-4F).
------------------------------------------------- --
Abbey and me had another short walk yesterday after I blew the driveway clean. It looks like I'll have to get the blower out again today.
With light winds I'll be able to get Abbey out on the gopher trails again. The dog has already learned to stay away from the drifts where she gets hung up.

With the cold wind chills it's time to dig out the ski-doo suit for my walk with Abbey.

I had quite the experience at the doctor's office. I was going to ask if he could take me off od some of my meds but had a seizure instead. He caught most of it on video thru his cell to give to the neurologist. Nothing like an eye witness account.

2 Walks With Abbey

By: plapman, 3:21 PM GMT on November 15, 2013

Today will bring clearing this morning with the wind becoming southerly at 30 km/h gusting to 50 this morning. Today's high will be 8C)48F).
Tonight will remain clear with a low of -2C(28F).
------------------------------------------------- --
I took Abbey on 2 walks yesterday. Flocks of geese were heading south, there must be colder weather coming.
On our second trip along the newly established walking path I met a couple going the opposite way. I thought it was nice as the gentleman was playing a guitar as they walked. I can only hope their relationship lasts as long as mine with the Queen and is as good. On the 31st of August we marked our 45th anniversary.

Tonight will start clear but the will be increasing cloudiness after midnight then a 30% chance of flurries overnight. The westerly wind at 20 km/h becoming light this evening as the temp falls to -1C(30F).
------------------------------------------------- -
It looks like Abbey and me may end up in Oz on our walk today. Luckily the return trip is sheltered in a residential area.
Hopefully the strong westerly wind will blow the remaining leaves on my trees in the backyard away from my yard.
It looks like WU is having problems with the web cams again. Mine is stuck at 5:23 yesterday afternoon but is uploading on schedule.

Feeling the Cold At the Northern Edge

Tonight will be partly cloudy with the wind remaining steady from the southwest 20 at km/h The overnight low is expected to be -4C(25F).
------------------------------------------------- -
I'm sure feeling the colder weather this year. Yesterday on my daily hike around the gopher fields my hands got cold even with the wool lined leather mitts. I didn't need those until the temp fell below 0 F(-18C) in my younger days. I'm turning into a wimp with age.

------------------------------------------------- ----
Yesterday I shortened my walk with Abbey. It's time to dig out the long johns. The Canada geese are still here though.
The leaves have finally started to fall from my big trees in the backyard. This year I'll have to get off of my butt and get the eve troughs cleared once they've all dropped.
I'm still working on the clock project but can't decide to leave it as a wall clock or continue with the miniature grandfather clock. I'm running out of wall and shelf space.

I'm having bad luck with the repaired hearing aid. it seems to be doing the same as before I sent it away for repairs, When I asked the technician what they had done to repair it she said it was almost like the had replaced all the electronics. It will have to go back in tomorrow.

Today will start mainly cloudy but clearing this afternoon. The wind becoming northwest at 20 km/h early this afternoon as the temp climbs to 6C.
Tonight will start clear turn becoming partly cloudy after midnight. the northwest wind at 20 km/h will become light late this evening. The overnight low will be -3C.

I made a visit to my doctor yesterday and received good news. The neck problems are not blocking and major arteries to the brain but arteritis has set in. I guess I'm like I told the Queen, a walking pile of human junk parts.:)
I just wish my other hearing aid would come back and maybe the whistling would least quiet down.
