It appears Abby has the prey drive. She had her first rabbit chase yesterday on our walk. It didn't take long for the bunny to outdistance her on the tops of the drifts. Abby runs ahead of me while free of the leash but is constantly checking over her shoulder to ensure I'm still behind her.

I was tempted to give Abby a chance at a free run yesterday, but I think I'll give her more leash time yet.

People thought twice when they saw a 100 lb dog at the door. There are some German Shepherds availible or even bigger Great Pyrennes pups.

Buck the dog Nov 11, 2004 - Dec 5, 2007
I had Buck at the vet yesterday, she wanted me to leave him there, but I took him home to say goodbye. He had a rough night, with trouble breathing due to fluid in his body cavity. He still wants out so as not the mess his home but I've had to bring him in twice after finding him lying in the snow. The diease has won the battle. Today will be his last day on the prairie after thousands of miles of walks. What a great friend he's been these last 3 years.
