Today will see snow ending this afternoon then cloudy with 30 % chance of flurries. A high of -9 is forecast.
Tonight will remain cloudy with the 30% chance of flurries this evening continuing. The wind will be northwest at 20 km/h creating a wind chill of -30. The overnight low is expected to be -21.
10 to 15 cm of snow is expected to accumulate.
I had a trip to the city yesterday to receive an award for 35 years service. Had a great meal and met up with a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while. If they'd have waited another 6 months I could have gotten one for 40 years.

Cold on the Prairie

Today will be cloudy with 60% chance of flurries this morning and early this afternoon. There will be periods of light snow beginning this afternoon with winds up to 15 km/h. A high of -13 with temperature falling to -18 this afternoon. Thw wind will give a wind chill of -25 this afternoon.
Tonight will see the periods of light snow ending this evening then clearing as the winds become light. An overnight low of -21 and wind chill of -29 is forecast.
These conditions shorten Bucks daily strut for sure. Yesterday the poor dog was lifting a leg and not to pee :). I guess his paw must have been cold.
The kids are making use of the approach to the overpass. There were a few there yesterday on our strut. The only other hill around is an abandoned garbage site.

Buck the dog is taking advantage of our sympathathy for him. The Queen of the Prairie came home from work at 6:30 this morning and had a coffee then went to bed. Buck the dog climbed up on the bed, which is not allowed, and looked at her with sad puppy eyes. She gave in lol.

It was a busy day here yesterday. I had all 4 daughters, 4 grandchildren and the G Grand daughter here. We got 5th generation photos with both GG Grandmothers.
A strange find yesterday while walking Buck the dog. The city has a place where the dump shards of concrete from sidewalk reconstruction and the like. Amidst the rubble were a number of headstones.I called a councilor and he is going to investigate the matte. It seems strange that tombstones would end up in a scrap pile.

The murder scene is still secured with 1 car gaurding the home. One woman was stabbed and died at the scene. There has been no news of suspects. The police are letting very little information out to the media.

I spent a couple of hours building Buck a doghouse. I don't think I'll ever see him in it. I bribed him with his favorite treat to get him in. He snatched the treat and quickly exited.
I had this almost ready to post when my monitor went blank. I quick trip to the service desk in the other room and I had a working one. It sure makes a big difference using a 17" when your used to a 21"

Tomorrows forecast has the 4 letter s word. They are calling for 5 to 10 cm ( 2-4 inches) accumaltion. Anyone who really wants some can come and take as much as they'd like. For the price of air fare and accomadation till May 2008 I'd gladly deliver as much as I could pack in my luggage to Florida, Texas, or California.

There was a murder in town yesterday. It was beside my mother's home. The RCMP are investigating and no suspects have been named. That makes 2 this year. Before this year The previous murder must have been 10 yrs ago.
Buck the dogs prognosis is not good. The vet is looking into an alternative to the steroid he's on as it's deteriorating his muscle tissue .

The big news in town yesterday was the opening of the overpass and bypass of Portage. After nearly a year since the highway was closed and traffic rerouted through town it's finally back on the highway.
