I had planned all week to redecorate my blog this weekend. With hubby's work schedule, we're like ships passing in the night for most of the week. So, when he's home, I really hate to spend a lot of time glued to the computer. So, didn't get my new entry up last night.

Was all set to do it tonight but I spent most of the day outside, doing yard work. Fixed supper and got hubby off to bed. Already have some websites bookmarked. I need to draw up a timeline and there's an awful lot of dates. Now, I'm just too tired to concentrate on pulling it all together. I'll just have to work on it a little at a time in Wordpad this coming week and get it up when I can.

In the meantime, please stand by.

How many of you out there remember the good old days, when periodically, you'd find that image on your TV screen? LOL

Have a little fun remembering the days of black and white television!

And I promise, I'll get that other entry up shortly!

Bug - the weather today is gorgeous! I actually came home and got out of my crop pants and put on shorts! It's a perfectly clear 75 right now! Perfection in my book!

Your dad's weather sounds like ours!!! I love the chilly evenings. I still have all the windows open in the bedroom, but it feels good to have the bedspread over us now. All summer it was just a sheet - period!

Has fall fell yet? I haven't heard a THUD.

Was checking the forecast up at my Dad's for this weekend. Looks like upper 70's to lower-mid 80's in the day and maybe down to upper 50's at night. Might better take a sweater for those early morning / late afternoon walks. Maybe I'll see a couple of deer or some turkeys, while I'm up there.

Mornin Bug, no gun shots, just a good nights sleep. Today is my ironing day. Hubby wears those long sleeve dress shirts to work. Oh I could get them done at the cleaners. I just hate to replace shirts when the buttons have been broken and the shirts don't look that great. Guess I am just too cheap. Besides I get lots of mytar points by ironing them.

Oh ya, happy Fall!

Always worth the wait (vertical inhalation going on, LOL).

Thanks for stopping by and looking through the photos. The L&M loves the fact that I work there - he says now he is no longer supporting my "plant" habit! As much as I enjoy the deco side of the house, I hope to spend a little time learning more plant related things next year...

Hi Bug - You said you hoped I wasn't stiff.......... Well I am!!!! LOL

Actually, it is my hips that hurt, and I thought they were getting better. Obviously not!! Mind you, my own fault. I went out at 8:20, and worked for what I thought was 90 minutes or so. But when I came in it was 11:15, so nearly three hours!!! It is amazing how you can loose yourself, and time, when you are pulling up weeds and chopping down rubbish!

Have a good day today ........ looking forward to your new header:)

Putting some of the last bits together on my next entry. Think I'm about done. Just need to start doing my copy/paste from Word and get all the links put in. Might try to get it up tomorrow or Thursday. Have wasted a lot of time, trying to find an image for the header but couldn't really find anything I liked. And when I did, it was copyrighted or too big or something. Rats.....

Will be headed out of town Friday afternoon. Am driving my cousin up to Dad's. Both of us want to see my uncle, that's undergoing chemo. Along with my aunt, my Dad and SMom and any of the rest of the family that might be able to gather. I think we may be coming back Sunday. It's up to my cousin and what she feels like doing. I took Friday and Monday off, so I'd have some leeway, depending on her wishes and how she feels.

I don't remember Commodore Moore at all!

And thanks for that link. I had been trying to remember Lorraine's last name and was drawing a total blank. Evans! I can sleep tonight! Don't you just hate it when you know you know something but can't dredge it up out of the mental files? Drives me nuts when that happens.

It wasn't a 50's or 60's children's show but I used to watch Mr. Knozit the whole time I lived in Sumter! Joe Pinner was pretty cool!

Hi, bug. I spent the weekend on Isle of Palms - family reunion. It was a great weekend. Since there were lots of out of towners there, I got to play tourist with them. Walked through the market and ate at Bubba Gump's. I don't know when the last time I was downtown.

to Coops - I was on Happy Raine a few times, mostly birthday parties. But I realized that I was also thinking of another show, Commodore Moore. (That is the one that I sang a song on. I think I was preschool age.)
Do either of you remember the Commodore Moore show?

Evening Bug -

I've just been missing coming by your blog - it's always so pleasant here. You make a great effort to stop by mine, and I'm terrible at making the rounds. I was thinking of you so I thought to myself - STOP and go say Hi!

So, Hi! The radar makes it look like a lot of you folks on the east coast are getting rain tonight....did you?

We are having wonderful fall like weather. I worked in the yard this afternoon and it just felt great to work hard and not sweat like crazy! I've heard we are supposed to heat up by the middle of this week - sort of our typical 'Indian Summer'. Really more like Santa Ana winds that blow hot dry air off shore, instead of our normal cool sea breezes. SO glad I'm back in the air conditioned media center!

I only have to watch Ian and Evan on Wednesday this week. I have a media center teacher meeting on Thursday afternoon and I have a staff development day on Friday that I must attend full day - so hubby is watching Thursday, and actually the other grandparents want to do Friday's. Works for me!

Morning Bug, When are you going on your cruise? I have been on 2 on the Big Red boat one. Don't know if they are still in business or not. They were run by Disney. First with parents. Won it believe or not and 2nd one with now ex-h. My favorite thing was the food. You could literally get food 24 hours aday on the boat. They were serving somewhere on the boat all the time ANd the most of the food was outstanding. Gee, do you think I like to eat.:) Have a great monday.

Bug,
your cruise will be here before you know it. I went on a short one 3 days (Bahama) around 1982 with x...
then hubby and I went on a 7 day one for my 50th (4 years ago) now that was one fun cruise. (it was his first) We had a ball.
Yes, evenings you don't have to "dress" like in the old days but still cannot wear jeans or shorts. nice slacks or I had some long dresses for most nights (you can get some nice dresses for low cost at places like Old Navy)
for days we always wore shorts and tshirts and sandles, especially on shore leave.. but when "at sea" we were in swim suits at the pools or had swim suits under our shorts.

I cannot wait for you and hubby to go on this cruise. I want to go on another one because we didn't do half of the fun stuff available. and you meet so many nice people on a cruise.

I have never had much luck with them either and your right you were right down the street from me during Hugo. The bldg I was refering to down the street was Custom Car Stereo. Was nothing left of it the next morning. Stop by Charlestonladys blog. She has a new grandbaby boy named Trevor. Have a great weekend. :)

We've tried for years to attract the little buggers. We spotted one last fall, for a few days. About three weeks ago, a couple showed up for a day or two. Then nothing, until this a.m. It was checking out the cardinal vine next door, then swooped over to my feeder hanging on the river birch. All I could see from where I was, was that it swooped over. Lost sight of it after that. Put fresh nectar up. Maybe it will show up again later this afternoon/evening.

Bug, that is great... I have tried to get hummers in my yard for 22 years! only saw one once. for some reason I don't think we get a lot of them down here in SE Fla or at least not my yard... and all my plants are butterfly and hummingbird nectar plants and I have hummingbird feeders! actually took it down two months ago but need to get it back up...I read they start migrating south again soon so as always, I want to be prepared just in case! LOL

I am "cooking" today, lol, hubby loves my Chicken Parmesan and it's been a long time since I made it so going to spend this afternoon in the kitchen....if I can tear myself aways from the computer! LOL

Take care and talk to you later.

Cool! Just saw a hummer outside. Not sure what kind. And wouldn't you know it, the nectar in my feeder needed changing. Did it real quick but I'm afraid he/she may not return, after tasting what was in there! Meant to change it yesterday but forgot.

Good morning, everyone! Kinda grey and foggy out there right now but it's expected to clear off by noon.

Been over at westoftheashley's blog, remembering Hugo. FRiday, the 21st, was the 18th anniversary. I've been blathering on, over there. Didn't think I recalled all that much, as the whole thing seems to be a blur, but once I opened the floodgates, memories started bubbling up to the surface and I can't seem to stop!

If any of you have Hugo stories, head over there and put them up!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I am beat!

Had a nice visit with my cousin. We had BBQ sandwiches for lunch. Headed over to get my hair trimmed, then went on to Walmart. My salon is about halfway between my house and Walmart, so I frequently go on down the road, get gas, birdseed and any household supplies I need. Check the clearance racks.

They had a bunch of men's shirts on the clearance racks. Short-sleeved cotton sports shirts. $5.00 and $5.50. Picked up about 7 of them for hubby. Plus 4 pairs of pants. He needs some good pants and shirts for the cruise. He only has about 3 pairs of decent khakis. All the rest are work pants. He's got a couple of pairs of jeans but I wanted him to have pants that he can wear during the day and just add a sports coat to at night. (Even though it's a "free-style" cruise, jeans and shorts aren't acceptable evening wear onboard. I've got shorts/capris for day and casual dresses/slacks for night) I hid 5 of the shirts. The little bugger will start wearing them to work and they'll get messed up.

Then, went by the library, returned the old books and got new ones.

I feel like I've been on my feet all day!

Good morning!

A busy day on tap. Will go over to my cousin's this morning. Have an appt to get my hair trimmed this afternoon. And I need to run down to Walmart for a few items and to get the truck gassed up.

Also need to remember to put some extra $$$ on my Walmart gift card, which I use as a gas card at Murphy's. Am headed up to Dad's next weekend and I'll need it to gas back up again in Newberry at the Walmart/Murphy's up there. I'm on about a half tank now, which is a bit low for me. It takes just about a full tank to do the trip to Dad's and back. Even if my cousin decides to go (as I'm hoping she will), and we take her car, we'll still stop in Newberry for gas.

It looks nice out there this morning. We may get some T-storms this afternoon. Tomorrow is supposed to be clear, so I'll wait to wash clothes then. Just too much in-and-out today and if it rains, I might not be here to snatch them back inside.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Seems I'm a little out of touch. The AT&T (or the old Bell South) building is now College of Charleston property. They said on the news that classes in that building were cancelled and the building evacuated, along with others in the area. A professor noticed a Pelican style briefcase on the sidewalk by a parked car around 9:00 a.m. and called in a "suspicious package" report. Streets were closed off, bomb sniffing dogs were brought in and some time later, a robot was sent in to explode the package. They're saying now that they're not sure if it was an explosive device or what it was. There were batteries and magnets inside and there was an open cell phone hooked up to it. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what the investigation determines.

It's crossed my mind and I'm wondering if it's related to the arrest of those students from Tampa on federal explosives charges. Maybe a supporter trying to make a statement or something. They were arrested several months ago and charged with having explosives in their trunk. The students state they were headed to a party and that the stuff in the trunk were homemade fireworks. They were just passing through Charleston and were pulled for speeding or something. There's been some controversy, as the students are Muslim. Their families are saying they're being railroaded because of their religion. One student is a citizen, I think, but the other one is here on a student visa from Egypt. They've been in jail ever since and were just recently moved to a facility in FL.

ACK! ACK! It's a bomb! It actually was a bomb. Police bomb squad detonated it. Some type of device hooked up to a cell phone and hidden in the bushes outside the AT&T building. Now why AT&T, I have no idea - except that it's right by the college campus. Or maybe someone was unhappy about their bill.
