Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I'm posting a single white rose in memory of my own mother, whom I miss dearly.

I have been lucky enough to have two ladies in my life that have tried to fill Mama's shoes over the years. My aunt in Greenwood and my cousin here in Charleston.

This entry is to honor those special ladies in our lives, no matter who they are. Please feel free to share you stories and memories of these special women.

Bug, no pilot son but beautiful roses and phone call. He is flying his last few days as a First Officer prior going to Captain's training. Not the time to take time off. His move to New York city most likely not going to happen until October. He is now looking at the Queens area because his base will be La Guradia.

Just gonna be a kick back Sunday. Hope you have a nice Sunday too.

Good morning! A Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms, grandmoms and special ladies.

OGal, was the pilot son able to get home this weekend? I know it all depends on his schedule.

Gams, I know your family always has a big get together with extended family for your MOther's Day luncheon.

Pros, is Raindad taking you out to dinner or do you have other plans?

Karen, you haul your Mom out to breakfast tomorrow, even if she protests! lol I'm sure she'll appreciate it, as well as the little household jobs you plan to do.

I know that as our parents, aunts and uncles get older, that it's harder to try for those all day 'do's', so apportioning it out makes sense. Plus, doing things all along during the year shows how much they mean to you. You're lucky that your brothers and mom live so close and you can do that easily.

No big plans today, here. I've no children, so I don't qualify for MOther's Day treats. I sent cards to my special ladies.

We've another nice sunny day here; the forecasted rain won't arrive until sometime tonight. I got all my clothes washed yesterday. I have some mini-blinds that need to come down for a good wash, as well as the curtains. Got one set done yesterday and want to get the rest of the ones in the living room and dining room done today.

I made run down to Wally World late yesterday afternoon to fill some scrips before the refill dates ran out later this week. Got some pork cutlets, some fresh corn on the cob and some baking potatoes for our Sunday dinner. Got gas.

I heard a rumor on the news last night that the price of gas may soon start dropping. I surely hope so!

Hey Bug - I'm sorry you lost your mom. I don't know how old you were when you did, but I don't think there is ever a good time.

My mom is getting picked up by my older brother, and then he's bringing her back to our neighborhood (I live by 2 of my brothers...within walking distance). He has a tradition of making her eggs Benedict. In the past, I used to have a bbq in the evening for her - making her stay and visit all day long. She can't handle that anymore - it's just too much activity for her in one day.

So, on Monday, hubby and I are headed to her house. We're going to replace her kitchen faucet and then her screen door. We'll also take her out to breakfast. She's told me before that she doesn't want me to do anything for her for Mother's Day because I see her every week anyway. Too bad - we're taking her to breakfast!

My girls are taking me out to lunch and a pedicure NEXT Sunday. My oldest, who is also a mom, is spending the day with her family. They always do something as a family - as I think they should. They wanted to take me today, but I had already made plans to get together with my GoingGrayLookingGreat gals. So 3 of us carpooled up to Studio City, as one of the gals had a pot luck luncheon at her house. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside all day long. We left at 11AM and I got home at nearly 6PM!! But we had fun. There were 11 of us all together. It's amazing how we were all brought together (through discussion boards on the website) and this was the 6th time I've gotten together with them. We call ourselves the "Silver Sisters!" LOL

You are so lucky to have your cousin so close to you - both emotionally and physically. It's nice to have family around.....isn't it? I hear you speak of her frequently, so I know you must share a very special relationship.

Have a wonderful day!

Hello Bug,

Thanks for stopping by. I know it must have been so hard to lose your Mama at such a young age as you did. So happy you had your Aunt and Cousin to help you through your life.

Mother's Day must be a special day of remembering for you and many like you.

So I want to wish you a beautiful weekend!

HAPPY SATURDAY BUG! I just hope that a lot of answers come out during the trial. I think the child's death was accidental but mom was doing stuff she shouldn't have been doing thus the cover-up. We shall see.

Had tiny amounds of rain here. A quarter of an inch last Monday but other than that nothing. We need rain but not as badly as Emmy.

Check out weatherwatch.com a very interesting weather link. Have a nice Sunday.

Oh my gosh I am first, I am never first.
