By our standards today is cool but the more days under thirty the better! Hubby and I went to the movies this afternoon to see a movie called the water Deviner, starring Russell Crowe. It is about Gallipoli and the war and based on a true story. A father went looking for his three sons who did not return from the war. Two died and the other was taken prisoner but the film looks at the Turkish side of things too so it has caused some "conversation ". I enjoyed it and it was certainly thought provoking.

Hi Everyone, Merry Christmas!!!!! I am using my new tablet so hopefully I can now keep in touch more readily! I would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas, peace, joy and love. We had the family to dinner last night and the children did very well from Santa! Hubby and I are off to some friends for dinner tonight, we brought our first house from them when we arrived in Oz and they have "adopted" us ever since. it is always fun and frantic with them so looking forward to it immensely!

Hi Ylee Pup was fine when I last heard from them but I believe they have gone to their beach house for Christmas (lucky pup)! Did eventually catch up with Christmas although now it is past the frantic stage thank goodness.

Hi Sandi, Merry Christmas, I have this new toy but I am not as tech savvy as you so keep doing things wrong but I will get the hang of it!!!! The weather is still being very kind and staying out of the thirties, even had to wear a windcheater this morning only the second time in 26 years P has just gone for his daily walk but I am still trying to get to grips with this so dipped out, besides I have had a glass of wine and I am sorry to say it is enough to make me a bit tipsy!!!

Hi WeatherWise, congratulations on the ac!!! Love seeing the flash of red when we visit our daughter, seen them several times at the arboretum. Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas and taking lots of photos!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS!

Sing hey! Sing hey!
For Christmas Day;
Twine mistletoe and holly.
For a friendship glows
In winter snows,
And so let's all be jolly!

The vet they saw told them she had a problem between her bladder and the "pipes" for want of another word and she was scratching because she was in acute pain! The biggest thing was they were distraught because it is not that long since they lost their last dog! Hopefully it is all over now! Christmas shopping should be finished by the end of this week but I must have the tree up and decorated before the grandchildren arrive again on Saturday! A little cooler today and the Christmas dog show which was fun!!!

What on earth did the new owner of Red think was wrong with her!
I can understand how stressful it must have been for you. Glad she is back with her owner again.

As to your "boys" - Geddy and Clancy... soon there will be nothing left for them to win! Good for you boys!

Hope you can settle down to Christmas planning soon - I am still not thinking it is just 10 days away... surely it is weeks away?
The weather, basically warm and wet does not lead to Christmassy thoughts, so how you cope, I have no idea!!

Take care :)

Hi everybody, well last week didn't go as planned . Red puppy, Ruby came back to us after her owners took her to a vet who told them the pup was REALLY unwell. I had an HOURS consult with my vet and he gave a very different prognosis and eventually she went back home! She is now doing well but I was very upset and stressed for most of last week.Saffy is a constant delight (except when she forgets to go out to pee)! She is playing with Jorja and it is lovely to watch. The boys Geddy and Clancy had a dog show today despite 34 degrees they did well. Geddy was best of breed with Clancy minor of breed and runner up BOB!!!

Hi Sandi Christmas? Is Christmas coming oh dear so much to do! My cake is made but needs icing and still have some presents to get but it WILL get done. Just watching Death comes to Pemberley and recognise the beautiful interiors I think from Castle Howard.

Hi Ylee Most of the pups have settled in well, one who's owner I see at the fitness centre we go to is besotted which is great, they are taking over people's lives and I hope owners and puppies have many years of fun together!

Hi WeatherWise Thank you for the Christmas messages, haven't got the spirit going yet but lots of Christmas cooking on the schedule for this week providing it's not too hot for pastry!!!!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer A little sketch I did a few years back! It is always strange what inspires me to start sketching. I think in this case it was pretty wrapping paper. I tried sketching a Christmas Moose and I think I perhaps did this sketch after seeing more pretty wrapping paper. Not sure as did this in December of 2010.

Bringing a bit of Christmas cheer your way. Have a Happy Monday!

Sounds like an exciting time at your house saying good-bye to all of your sweet little babies! A lot of pride and work along with the love there - I am sure you will feel a bit of an empty nest for a few days and think of them often and how they are adjusting to their new home and mom. Now, you can breathe and think of Christmas and enjoy.

I just saw the photo of your pumpkin cheesecake (with chocolate topping?) over at Poppy's and I just had to come by and compliment you on it. If it tasted half as good as it looked, well, all I can say is I wish you saved some for me.

It is a bit late for you, since you already had your Thanksgiving, but the sentiment doesn't get stale...

Happy Thanksgiving, even though you have had your celebration to you!

Actually - I saw the cheesecake you had made and posted in Poppy's blog. I tried to make a gluten and wheat free baked cheese cake the other day. It tasted fine, but didn't set so well in the middle. Too short a cooking time, or something. I wondered if you had a wheat free baked cheesecake recipe???

Happy Thanksgiving!
Artwork is by Lilly

Hi Oz, I thought you might enjoy this piece of artwork. My great niece always added artwork to the edges of her letters to me. This is from way back when she was less than 14 years old. Her artwork has only gotten better over the years. I snapped a photo of it and just found it on my external photo harddrive. It was so close to the edge of the paper but took a photo of it back in 2006 from her Thanksgiving letter. The darker part at bottom is not actually part of the sketch. I was looking for a turkey mosaic I had made on my external harddrive when I saw this. I decided this was perfect for my Thanksgiving greeting. This young lady is so talented. Everything she sketches or draws or paints, rocks and moves, and talks to you. She can even rock a birthday cake or whatever kind of cake!

Well today was our Thanksgiving Dinner and everyone has just gone home! Everything is washed and packed away and not too many leftovers in the fridge. Could not persuade my cheesecake loving son to try the pumpkin cheesecake but it was his loss because it was very nice! I went with chicken pot pies, spicy ribs, potatoes, azgrandma bean dish, pumpkin and some cornbread oh and a friend brought some of her yummy cauliflower cheese. For dessert H made red velvet cake and then realised he had missed out the buttermilk and unfortunately it was VERY dry, pumpkin cheesecake and smores cupcakes! I think they all went home full!

Hi Ylee Last year they had three but this batch is much earlier than last years second, the male will probably have ANOTHER clutch somewhere nearby, busy boy but believe it or not the babies left the nest today!!! Very quick this time.

Hi Sandi One of our puppy people buyers joined us for the Thanksgiving dinner and they want us to keep their boy for an extra week so pink will have company for a little longer. Geddy and Clancy did well at the show again this weekend despite terrible thunderstorms so I was very impressed!

Thanks Cal and Ylee, yes apricot is very nice but a bit wide in front for a show dog unfortunately! Its difficult when you have two dogs going through because the second dog has to work hard to beat the older dog but we are hopeful that Clancy will steal some wins!!
On another tack our little wagtail is back with her second clutch of eggs for the season! Three babies again.

This weekend Geddy won Best of Breed at three shows this now gives him enough points to apply for his Australian Champions title at only ten months of age! Very pleased with him and Clancy won Baby of Breed at all three shows (mind you he was the only baby Welshie there, but the judge does not have to give him the class)! The puppies are taking up a lot of my time as they now need more exercise and it is only two more weeks before they start to leave here and go to their new homes.

Ylee I will post a photo of them on the beach, they had a ball but it was very windy and they were full of sand and sea water by the time they got home!

Sandi It was just funny to see how some of the children were really in their element and others were not> Ariana has apparently said she doesn't want to continue with dance but wants to play netball or do gymnastics!

I am so glad to read that your little granddaughter was a success on the stage. I still remember the first time I had to perform in front of the public. Admittedly it was only parents, but there was some parents I didn't know!
Then I also remember when I was 10 and I had to sing a solo on Easter Sunday in Pocklington Parish Church. I was so nervous that the choirmaster made me go and sit inside the pulpit so I couldn't see the congregation!
Fancy going 45 miles away from home to see someone who lives less than a couple of minutes away! Talk about great minds think alike :-)

Hope you are having a good weekend.

Today we took Geddy and Clancy to the beach and they had a ball!!! It was warm but blowing a gale as you will see if I get the photos posted! The beach we went to is about 45 minutes from us and we had walked a few feet when I heard someone calling my name and there were our next door neighbours!!!!

Hi SandiYes we were very proud but she looked terrified!!! It was great fun they live in a small country town and virtually the whole community turned out. It is a new dance school run by one young woman alone and she had students of all ages from tiny tots to some "mature" students. They were very brave in my eyes as they were known to most of the audience but they were great fun. Jax behaved too as he had to sit still for quite a long time but he clapped and clapped when his sister was on stage.

Hi Cal I hope the cheesecake is good as I want to make it for our Thanksgiving Dinner. The camels get shot here I did cook with camel when I did my cooking training but must admit haven't used it since. We have seen them when we have travelled around in the outback, but goats are more common also feral. They get killed and eaten by many of the farmers whose land they destroy! Geddy is very much MY boy we have another show weekend coming up so he has to get a haircut this week sometime and so does Clancy. The puppies are lovely but hard work they are actually crying at the back door at the moment as they have been out for a while so I had better get them in again soon, then it will be time to put them out again for their supper do we see a pattern emerging here, in, out, all takes time but they are very cute!

Hi Pros Yes thankfully the fire danger has passed for now, our weather has cooled down significantly. It is very scary when they tell you to go and we have to have our evacuation kit at the ready with all the important documents etc.. I have only had the car packed once ready to go but we didn't need to in the end.
