Gone but not forgotten

Hi all...I tried to figure out how to change from no comment on the photos to allow comments...and gave up. The new photos are of Fluffer on the bench and the two of Joe...one with Fluff and one trying to coax Dutchie to come out of the brush.

As you can see in the one with Fluff, Joe is happy to have her in his arms...her, not so much. "Who IS this guy?" I was afraid we were going to have to go to Plan B...Joe goes to hit a few golf balls at the local course while Dutchie makes up her mind to finally come out.

As it turns out, Joe was patient and Dutchie finally got within reach, and they left very close to the original planned time to leave. I would NOT want to listen to the complaints he must be hearing!

I am sorry to see the girls gone, especially Fluffer. She is a delight to hold and allowed me to spend as much time petting her as I wanted...much more of a lap cat then the younger and squirmier Dutchie. Once Dutch discovered the outdoors, that was her primary focus. Fluff just liked to hang out with me, so I made time for us, getting a lot of reading done...which I loved. I will really miss her.

Those critter-cats stayed with you long enough to get attached. I think that'd be tough saying good-bye to those rascally fur-persons. You did good.

Allow me to shed some light about allowing comments on photos. When you upload a photo, there is a check-box on lower left side to allow comments. What they don't tell you is if you designate a photo as a "portrait" no comments will be allowed, regardless. Sometimes though, you need to call a photo a "portrait or for use in a blog" because it doesn't meet the guidelines of weather or outdoors related.

If you check a wrong box on a photo and want to go back to change it after it has been approved, go to "My Photos" and click on "Modify Series" even if it's only one photo. That will take you back to the page where you can check/uncheck Comments and/or Portrait. You will then have to send it back for approval. Hope that helps!

You have my deepest sympathies over parting with Fluff. She is a beautiful cat. And very people friendly. But, you still have your own to keep you company. And you never know who might wander in out of the shrubbery.

Dutchie reminds us of one or two of our cats. Muriel says he is a "tweenager". He'll eventually slow down a bit. But one of ours still jumps out of his fur if I sneak up on him and clap my hands.

But, our King Louie, our biggest cat ever (a Maine Coon) , just would roll over and scratch the top of his head on the nearest chair leg. Too bad he is just too big for a lap cat. Besides, he's as hot to hold as a laptop after a short time. He amazes us with how well he tolerates this Livermore weather. I think he is insulated both against heat and against cold, kind of like an Arab under 6 layers of robes.
