Ok WUtechs... what's happening up there in the SanFran office space? Are y'all forgetting that we (WUmems) both watch (closely!!) the daily posts as we depend on the reliability of your output? If you did, then please, allow me to offer you a peaceable and kind reminder.

We do. WE DO!

Today's little inset FLASH Map of Weather Events shows only two spots on my map; has only shown this most of the day. Big earthshaken event in the Shetland Islands just north of Antarctica of 6.7 (there was a one of 6.2 less than an hour earlier, too!). but the #2 slot went to a 1F reading in Wastonville, CA.

I did a major double-take, because, though I couldn't exactly place Watsonville, I had a really good suspicion that is wasn't even close to 1F: today or any day this side of the last continental Ice Age ... some 10,000 years ago.

So I did a quick screen-cap of the WU page in question .. then did some quick verification research.

I found that at the moment y'all were posting a bone chilling 1F in Watsonville, it was actually 51F. The verified all-time Low was recorded in 1990 at 12F on Dec 22. Cold. But not 1F!

OH! So y'all just dropped a '5'. Well, that's a heck of a big number to drop in temperature recording. 20F warmer than I'm enjoying 'n cooling off with in Hoosierville and we're 30F warmer than you said the poor Pacific coasters were freezin' in.

OK. With no doubt 10's of millions of data bits flying through your servers every minute or so, a mistake could be said to be inevitable. But this type of error is just not one that should be made.

Only letting y'all know we are watching. And I - for one - a long, long, long time follower and fan of WU - I depend on your data to be near perfect.

Many times during big T-storms and tornado events here in the shadow of Tornado Alley, its the data pouring off your servers that keeps us aware of our next 5 minutes of action.

So, even though I love the blogs and photos of WU, I'm here for the FAST, DEPENDABLE, FACTUAL, LIVE_BY W E A T H E R!!! First and foremost.

Please .. do NOT let any of us down. It could be - for y'all - a literal loss of membership, and lives for us.

We not only look to y'all as close friends. We DEPEND on y'all having our backs, too!

Oh Texas!  The Hoosierland sends its most sincere condolences to the peoples of South Texas. Most specifically those who live on the ice-cube, formerly known as South Padre, Island. The shock must be devastating.  We can only assume that the entire population of south Texas brass-monkey's will be lost to this devastating arctic blast. It is utterly unbelievable. OH..!  The sheer frigidity of it all. As you can see this is an official condition, fully d...

Coming off of winter, we here in the Hoosierland, look forward to the smooth entry of spring. OK, in all honesty the entry of Spring to the Hoosierland can be a bit rocky; and messy.  Melting snow and ice give a lift to the winter dulled streams.  Mud is tossed in and kicked up.  So the dirt road; yeah, remember them?; can be a bit of a navigation nightmare.  But it's all part of the initiation of the new growth.  Out with the old and in wit...

WOW! Not since my early childhood... back in the day's when the buffalo roamed and restless indigenous tribes made travel dangerous - from home to the first McDonalds on the prairie ...  have we had this much snow on the ground for so long a period.Since the first snow of the year - measurable that is - on November 27, 2010 - we the natives of West Laugh-a-lot, Hoosierville, have only had a brief 3 days in which we actually saw the dead grass and bare ground!Ye...

Last night the moon painted with a full lumen palette across our   backyard.  I could not resist capturing - however feeble might my   attempts be - the beauty of this frigid scene. The shadows   glimmered in the cold 15° F temps.  High humidity foretold the frosty   covered extremities of all objects remaining outside to greet the rising sun.  A scene I knew I would not capture on CMOS screen nor optic &nb...
