Actually we saw little impact until the wrap around moisture got us late this afternoon.
In western Carteret County, we were on the western site of the storm track. We went most of the day with the half inch we got before dawn.
Around three 3 pm we drove over to the beaches to take some pictures of the waves and beach.
Just after we got back home around four pm, the skies opened, and we had a heavy downpour which except for some short breaks lasted until just before six pm.
We received slightly more than an inch and one half of rain which brought our total to just over two inches.
This is the sunset just after the rain stopped. It was a nice ending for Gabrielle.
