Floral Explosion (novembergale)
A little warm weather mixed with sun and rain gave us an explosion in buds this week!
This amazing songbird spends its winters in South America, well south of the equator, which is over 6,000 miles away. This guy may have come from as far away as Argentina!
Sunset Surprise (novembergale)
It was cloudy and overcast all day long up until the last few minutes at sunset.

Rose-breasted Grosbeak (novembergale)
The long journey to their summer home is complete. The nest building in our pine trees has begun. This guy came out to feed at one of our sunflower feeders.
Pine Siskin (novembergale)
A chilly wet morning with a few Pine Siskin still in the area.
Chilled Hummer (novembergale)
This poor girl doesn't look like she's enjoying the cold snap we're having. With temps in the 30's and a freeze warning, she may have to resort to torpor tonight. It seems to happen every year after they get here, but Mother Nature gave her the mechanisms to cope and survive.
