Life on the Chautauqua Ridge

A flock of Pine Siskin appeared in the yard today and they all had a good time playing in the bird bath fountain. It was only 39º F but they didn't seem to mind the chilly temps at all.

The sun was already setting when I got out of work at 5:00 today. However, I made it down to the lake in time to absorb this amazing afterglow.

This is Lily, the chipmunk that lives under our deck. She has a scar on her back and is missing her tail. She was looking for water in our bird bath fountain and went down under the rocks to find water that wasn't frozen yet.
