Late Spring!

By: nobyter, 10:11 PM GMT on May 29, 2013

Well, I've seen around a dozen black rat snakes in the last couple of weeks here in Rockfish. One almost six footer near the dog's kiddie pool. I'm glad I'm not a rat! I don't kill them as they eat critters other than people, dogs, or gardens. I wonder if they eat cicadas or stink bugs?

Got the garden in and now are harvesting the Elephant Garlic scapes. Trying the "three sisters" style of growing corn, beans, and squash in mounds. Doing a lot of weeding and cutting grass as we seem to have ideal growing conditions. The Elephant Garlic will be harvested in 3 weeks! We had a one hour power outage today. Don't know the reason...
