Can you imagine being without Internet during three weeks ? I hope it's the last time it happened to me! I'm sure I missed a lot of great photos, isn't it the best time for photographers with the last bright colors of autumn and the magical touch of the first snow ?
Recent counts at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge state that there are over 2 million geese and ducks. Later this day, I saw a mass fly-out of over 1 million snow geese heading out for their nightly feeding at dusk. It was quite a sight.

(It finally snowed!)
One of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in a while. With clouds at different levels and lingering smoke particles in the air helped to fill the sky with color!
Few apples are left on the trees now. The ground, however, is covered with them along with fallen leaves.

Saturday morning is my one time to sleep a little later, but thankfully my wife got me uo this morning to enjoy this sunrise.

Old farm equipment...anyone have any details on the age or what they are?
This photo was taken in Fox, Alaska roughly 25 miles NE of Fairbanks. I am shooting north towards the Aurora ski lodge and the University Of Alaska's Poker Flats Research Center. In the middle of the photo you can see their laser shooting straight up into the sky. A little after this shot was taken I could hear the snapping of branches and I turned around and there was a huge bull moose not 10' away from me. He was as startled as I was. I made a very quick exit. I didn't know I could run so fast in the snow. I'm 6' 4" and my head wasn't even to his shoulders. I had to look up to see his face.

No digital alterations and it perfect. Taken just outside Verona, Wisconsin.
Snow is still in shadowy places but the high's supposed reach 52 so won't be long and all will be gone. Weekend temps will soar into the 70s!

Churning sky. . .I went out to this cold and desolate place to bring back sights that most normal people wouldn't go to. Guess I'm not normal. LOL
A brisk 4 degrees out this morning while I was photographing the eagles.

This cottontail huddles beneath some sage for protection from the cold. Or maybe from the guy with the camera?
-3 degrees with the wind chill 10 degrees on my cars thermometer, I was only out in it for an hour taking pictures of the sunrise, good fun. I though I might have camere trouble but it worked just fine.

Taken in Palmer, Alaska, on the winter solstice, December 21 ~ the mountain is Pioneer Peak... the time of day was approx 1pm... No filters were used and it was not manipulated in anyway ~ the sun was this bright, with a light fog rolling through... it's what we call a perfect Alaskan day...!
