{{{Mass}}} Thank you for the lovely graphics, as always! Your talent is so much a part of you and I know you put your heart into so much of the unique things you find with this wonderful resource we have of the internet! It's truly artistic and amazing what you do.

Hope 2013 gets really easy for you. Seems 2012 ran you ragged with all it's woes! So, I do hope this year is so much better.

Your friend, Jus.

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.

Happy New Year, Mass! I certainly identified with your tale from Arkansas. I have a cousin who lives in Mena. He wasn't home at the time of the snow, but his neighbors reported a pile of the stuff - over a foot.

I'm really glad to see you here more often. I wish you nothing but a nice, placid, healthy and stressfree 2013. Wouldn't that be nice! LOL

Good Morning Everyone and Happy New Year's Eve!

I want to thank everyone below for your wonderful holiday posts and for those concerns regarding our weekend snowfall. Thankfully, we only received less than half a foot and had no problems with power outages taking place!

Just yesterday, I spoke with a good longtime Arkansan friend of mine, who had been without power for several days due being hit by the large historical snowstorm dumping approximately 9' of snow on many parts. He stated that his power was finally restored as of yesterday morning! Lucky for him that he had an excellent woodburning stove with plenty of wood for warmth and plenty of flashlights and candles for light. Nevertheless, one does needs electricity sooner or later to either refrigerate or heat food and recharge cellular phones.

It certainly appears that those once regularly warm winter southern States are no longer exempt from increased frigid cold snaps or heavy snow. It doesn't pay to remain unprepared for any unexpected event no matter where one lives.

Currently, I feel blessed to have gotten through another year relatively intact and with our power still on ... for now. I face 2013 with very cautious optimism, as none of us are getting any younger and there are always new obstacles to meet, but glad that I have the support of friends seen and unseen to help get me through those tougher times. It makes the world of difference when friends are by your side.

HERE'S TO ALL MY DEAR WU FRIENDS IN 2013!!

Heavy rain across the Carolinas today. It's over now, but the storm is headed your way. I'm afraid that when it reaches your latitude the result will be lighter and whiter.

Hope you had a great Christmas. May the new year exceed your loftiest expectations!

I went looking for something to tie together 'snow' and 'new year', and YouTube came up with this. Not exactly what I wanted, but not bad either. Hope you like it.

Hey Mass!

Wanted to say thanks for the Christmas greetings. Didn't get around to everyone's blog this year. Wacky week. Nothing particularly bad...just crazy.

But Christmas was nice! Kinda been in recovery mode today. That's one nasty storm and glad to learn that my friends so far are safe. Crazy windy here today, but no problems.

Hope that you, NEw, and other friends in the NE are safe and warm tonight.

Hi,Mass,I guess we will have to batten down the hatches,if I can borrow seafarers phrase.Looks to be a wild night and early tomorrow, with lots of wind, and snow to mix to rain and then back to snow before ending. The good news shouldn't be anything to shovel, just a slushy mess for us in the east.

Good post-Christmas Wednesday and Happy Kwanzaa-(Weds. 12-26-12 to 01-01-13) Everyone!

Hope all, if not most, of you were able to spend an enjoyable Christmas with either close family and/or friends! Hubby and I spent a wonderfully relaxing day together and feasted on our favorite dishes at dinnertime. With all the leftovers, this will be a week-long gift that keeps on giving! YEAH AND MANGIA! LOL!

Weatherwise, we were very lucky to only receive just slight traces of snowfall for ambiance. Unfortunately, parts of Alabama, (especially Mobile) and others living in the South weren't so lucky, as tornadoes ripped through some homes and other structures in its path. I'm grateful our dear friend, (((Ally))), below, remained safe and hope that Aubie and his family are as well.

This nasty storm seems to be making its way towards the Northeast and could present either heavy snowfall or rains depending on the temps, etc. in our respective locations. Naturally, I hope everyone is able to get through this holiday week totally unscathed and with their power lines intact!

Hi,Mass, saw your comment on my blog, but wanted to drop and wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.I hope you can have some time to relax and enjoy the holidays. One of the regrets I have with the holidays is that they can be so hectic, that its hard to stop and enjoy this season.I will be saying a prayer for all the families in Newtown conn who will not be able to enjoy this season, and probably won't be able to enjoy it in the future either.

Good Afternoon, Everyone ~

It was another relatively busy week for me, so I'm sorry that it's taken, until now, for me to finally find the time to update and/or respond on my own blogsite.

Tomball ~ Thanks for posting our precipitation weather map of a week ago and for the congrats of the PATS win over the TEXANS at that time. To be honest, I thought the TEXANS would probably be the victors due to their leading edge going in, i.e. 11-1 vs. PATS 10-3.

Currently, our weather and last week's football victory feel quite hollow in light of Friday's tragic Sandy Nook School massacre in Connecticut. I'm sure many across our Nation, whether parents or not, are continuing to struggle emotionally while trying to come to terms with it all. Hopefully, the very important issues of the mentally ill and the highly contested politicization of guns, especially, easy access to AKA-type assault weaponry, won't again fade from public view or remain in an obscured stalemate! As singer/songwriter, Bob Dylan, once wrote: "How many deaths will it take till we know that too many people have died?" "The answer, my friend", shouldn't remain just [sic] "blowin' in the wind" nor for us to become vigilantes who arm themselves to extinction. Some armed Christians tend to forget one of the most important of the Ten Commandments is: "THOU SHALT NOT KILL!" How easily it's been seemingly overlooked or revised to meet one's own agenda in recent decades. 'Nuff said.

(((PROS))) ~ As always, I'm thinking of you, too, on the very somber weekend and Sunday. Hope that the presence of loved ones around you and nearby has helped you to find some form of comfort while dealing with the collective grief felt by many right now. Big warm supportive hugs! Don't worry about responding to those regular emails I sent you. They were done or sent before I knew about Friday's tragic event.

For those true weather devotees out there, it is now lightly snowing and is allegedly to turn into a messy mix due to slightly warmer air arriving later in the evening. It also appears that no white Christmas is expected around here this year.

Our current two-day weather forecast per Wunderground for our area:

Sunday
Overcast with snow showers in the morning, then mostly cloudy with snow showers. High of 37F with a windchill as low as 25F. Winds from the NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 70%.

Sunday Night
Overcast with ice pellets and rain showers, then snow and rain showers after midnight. Low of 34F with a windchill as low as 27F. Winds from the SE at 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 80% with accumulations up to 1 in. possible.

Monday
Overcast with rain showers. Fog early. High of 41F. Winds from the ENE at 5 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Monday Night
Overcast with rain. Low of 43F. Winds from the ENE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 100% with rainfall amounts near 0.9 in. possible.

I'm leaving you with a very special Christmas tune that resonates with me always. GOD BLESS!

Good Morning, G/G/ and Folks!

Quoting GardenGrrl:
Hi Mass, an Army of flashing lights and service trucks in the middle of the night and your power was on? I would have been looking for the black Suburban and guys in hazmat suits...or at least come morning I would tell the little kids in our neighborhood that's what I saw. I know, lump of coal in my stocking.

After nearly a full week of mornings of our waking up to noisy electric trucks surrounding our home, my dream turned reality of so-called knowledgeable functioning power company reps showing up (actually, during power outages only) has seemingly come to an end. Hopefully, the reality of their so-called work will prove successful in the months to come. Amazingly, no power was lost during their lengthy process of replacing and re-positioning higher a smaller transformer on our front utility pole! Now, that IS progress!!! LOL! Time will tell whether or not this was just a show to assuage our State's Attorney General (she issued a mandate for all electrical companies to work on taking preventative measures statewide to remedy increasingly frequent and lengthy power outages) or becomes just another wasted temporary mediocre fix.

I think I posted the above too soon, as another electric company truck has just stopped in front of our home. Guess he just missed our company, as he's now off and running elsewhere.

We've returned to chillier than normal seasonal temps right now, but Monday may warm up to near 60F with accompanying rainshowers!!! YIPPEE!!! Hey, I'll take this sort of precipitation anytime it brings us temps above 50F! May there are more unanticipated warm fronts in our horizon in the winter weeks and months to come. Wishful thinking?? My fingers are crossed! Dear Santa ...

Exactly two weeks from now, it may not matter to anyone what our weather brings, as our current Mayan Calendar allegedly comes to an end on (Dec. 21st). While Googling this upcoming historical event, I found that various professional historians have mixed reviews or ideas concerning the exact time frame issued centuries ago. I tend to ascribe to the philosophy of the cartoon I placed in my blog header, i.e., whomever created the Mayan calendar in the first place just ran out of tablets. LOL! Well, we shall see ... Nevertheless, it doesn't seem to have brought about the same pre-histrionics as our Y2K event 13 yrs ago. How time flies and memories fade!

Ironically speaking, have you noticed it also hasn't stopped calendar manufacturers from producing or issuing their 2013 releases? LOL! I believe there'll be infinitesimally more days/weeks/months ahead of us yet as long as we don't jump off of any fiscal or other type of cliffs.

\HOPE EVERYONE'S DOING WELL, STAYING OUT OF TROUBLE AND HAS A DECENT WEEKEND AHEAD OF THEM! REMEMBER, JUST 17 MORE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DAYS OR DAZES LEFT! HANG IN THERE! LOL!

Good Sunday Morning to You, (((Pros)))!

When you posted, just earlier, about your hubby going out to find that perfect strand of blinking lights for your Christmas tree, I couldn't help but think of this hilariously satirical tune/video about the "12 Days of Christmas". My favorite section has always been about "rigging up the lights". LOL! Thought it might provide you with some chuckles while waiting for hubby to return from his light-blinking quest.

Quoting Proserpina:
Good morning Mass. Thirty seven and foggy here, it should warm up as the day progresses.

The tree is up and so are the lights, now it waits for the decorations. Hubby wants to add another strand of blinking lights (I like non blinking), so he has to go out to buy a strand and then I can decorate. I hate having to wait on others before I can do my part of a job.

Stay well amiga and Aquarius sis.

In any event, I'm sure, once it's all done, your fully decorated Christmas tree and home will provide you and yours with delight in another job well done.

It's begun to get foggy outside our premise as well....either that or I need much more caffeine to fully wake up and focus. LOL! HOPE YOU ENJOY THE MUSICAL CHUCKLES PROVIDED BELOW!

Thinking of you dear Mass!

Good Late Morning, ((((PROS)))) and All!

Well, here it is the 1st day of December, with approximately three weeks to go until winter's official arrival, and a tasteful light wintry snowfall is filling the air and covering our ground.

This would make the perfect scene or ambiance for Christmas Eve and Day but, tomorrow is another day, and it looks to be bringing us a spring-like melting warmup which should last throughout Wednesday. No complaints here! LOL!

Earlier this am, we awoke to the sight of a large army of electric company trucks and traffic duty police cars surrounding our front and side streets. You don't know how many times I have dreamt of this surreal vision only it was during those many times our power went out for hours/days on end during the past five years while our fervent pleas to them went unanswered. Hopefully, whatever they did (besides removing a large transformer box from above our front street's utility pole (???? - as to why???) it will somehow go a long way towards keeping our neighborhood powered up during any/all future weather or not events. I'm quite over feeling like the second coming of Laura Ingalls, from "Little House on the Prairie" fame. At least, in the wintry days or yore, she seemed to have a large working fireplace as a decent heating source along with enough kerosene fueled lamps for light. In present time, we, here in our little house, rely solely on natural gas for heat which naturally needs electricity in order to run!! Large generators are now quite expensive and also costly to run, but we still hope to purchase one soon ASAP as precautionary measures are always essential this time of year and I have yet to build up enough faith in our local electric company. 'Nuff said.

(((PROS))) ~ As always, thank you for adorning my blogsite again with your creatively lovely start to the month graphics and accompanying poetic greetings written by various great poets, etc., to compliment each one. Yes, indeed, it's hard to believe how quickly the months are speeding by, but I've come to realize that no matter how many challenges or troubles we may encounter along the way, the greatest gifts we can bestow to one another throughout are the gifts of kindness, support and solid friendship. They are truly the gifts that count the most and keep on giving!!!! I feel truly blessed to have received so much of each, in recent times, and hope to resume paying it all forward in the days/months/years to come! Thinking of you, too, my dear Aquarian soul-sister and friend!!!

May you all have a great weekend and a happy healthy holiday month ahead to enjoy with close family and friends!! Hope to join you again tomorrow for further postings and updates. BE WELL!
