Good Morning, All!

Sorry I couldn't get online to post earlier (pre-EST) but, once again, I was caught off guard by a sudden change in F-I-L's chauffeuring times (plus his errands) over the weekend. Naturally, there were many of my own home chores and errands to run as well. At least, my hubby's been so amazingly helpful (while pacing himself) in getting up much of the thick carpet of fallen oak leaves in our front and back yard. As usual this time of season, they never seem to finish dangling or falling despite turning brown. I keep telling my hubby that, at this stage of our lives, it's unimportant having to leave enough behind for continued autumnal ambience. LOL!

Well, I'm sure, by now, everyone's remembered to turn their clocks back an hour (just prior to or by this past Sun., 2:00 am) to Eastern Standard Time. (Boooo, Hisss) I was happy for the extra hour of sleep or contemplation (if one could get it), but now watching the sunset at 4:33 pm in the afternoon remains a big adjustment.

Curently, we're steadily watching our upcoming Weds./Thurs. weather forecasts with bated breath! It appears yet another potentially damaging Nor'Easter could affect the ravaged Eastern coastal regions, ( already suffering from Hurricane Sandy), and the Southern, Central, Western parts of Mass. as well. My locale, within the upper Northeastern Mass. region, could see only rain showers and slight wind. I'd consider myself ever so fortunate or blessed if that remains the extent of it!! Hope that those who could be most affected will find safe warm havens, batten down the hatches and prepare for the worst, even if it doesn't materialize, and any further damage is at a bare minimum! Good grief, there's way too much extreme or scary weather to go around these days!

Hopefully, your ominous post below doesn't hamper any holiday festivities you have planned while indoctrinating your newly remodeled kitchen. I'm sure it'll look spectacular when all is said and done. Think of all the great meals and conversations to be had once you begin entertaining!

HAVE MERCY! I'm beginning to wonder why Mother Nature has decided to pick on our New England region this year! Hopefully, this potentially nasty event, reposted above from below, doesn't come to fruition. There's been enough real challenges to deal with lately without adding more to the mix.

Thankfully, as of this am, we only had less than an inch of snow covering the ground. Grateful, too, that there were no power outages involved around here, as it's far colder than last week and we're without a working generator. We've begun to work out contingency plans with relatives (who still have heat) in such an instance.

Currently, it's begun to turn a bit slushy due to some earlier returning rainfall resulting in a meltdown. Hopefully, by early afternoon, I won't have any difficulties while driving to an appointment that was rescheduled from Oct 29th's(Hurricane Sandy). I believe our nearby highways should be clear enough to safely make the trek to and from. I've become skiddish about driving even in better weather. My nerves are taking over.

So sad how the Jersey and NY shorelines have been pummeled once again. Hopefully, the mass media stays on top of this story for needed attention to additional relief efforts. It's going to take quite awhile to recover from such decimation.

Hope your area also made out okay from this storm and that the potentially ominous two-weeks ahead forecast (p/Dr. Masters, etc.) will change for the better and give us more encouraging news for a most thankful Thanksgiving and beyond!

Hi (((PROS)))!

Thanks so much for thinking about me, as I've thought of you and our other dear friends as well.

Last Thursday, Nov. 8th, when I had my annual physical exam, my doctor threatened to put me in the hospital due to my extreme weight loss caused by the stressful events, demands and resulting anxieties of these past many months. I assured him that I would "take the bull by the horns" and quickly remedy my current situation. When I got home, I had a serious talk with my hubby (who has mental and emotional difficulty processing serious information) and made it clear that I can no longer take on his medical problems, listen to his brother and sister-in-law's problems or excuses, and take on the demands of his elderly (albeit reasonably healthy) father all at the same time. He has an older brother and sister-in-law (65 yrs old) who, up until just recently, have put their own self-inflicted health problems and familial woes above everyone else. I finally stood up and told them that unless we placed my obstinate and declining F-I-L in the same nursing home as my M-I-L, I would no have no other choice but to move in with a close relative (for my own health reasons) leaving them all to fend for themselves. Thankfully, this woke them all up and now the in-laws are in the difficult process of getting my F-I-L approved for a long overdue nursing home admittance. In the meantime, my F-I-L also realizes that I can no longer act as his private chauffeur for reasons other than his medical appts., groceries or if he cannot get a ride to visit his wife on those weekdays/holidays his van service isn't available. I've found he can be quite wiley and resourceful for other rides when he wants to be). I already take him and hubby either on a Saturday or Sunday to visit her for a two hour visit each week.

Sorry I've picked here and now to unburden myself to everyone. I realize this is primarily a weather site so, naturally, I'm reminded of how recently serious weather events have affected those who are now in far rougher shape than I. My hope and prayers remain with all those who currently need the strength, hope, wisdom and health to endure or overcome all of their overwhelming obstacles in life whether they're weather-related or not.

Thanks so much for the lovely Thanksgiving posts and graphics below! Sorry for the lateness in posting, but it was a hectic week of doctors appointments for hubby (both Monday and Tuesday) and another type of annual exam for me on Wednesday. Thankfully, we were able to get to the grocery store Wednesday afternoon to pick up the remaining products needed for our Thanksgiving dinner.

This year, I decided to take it easy on myself by purchasing two large pre-cooked rotisserie chickens, some stove-top chicken stuffing mix along with frozen pre-cooked squash and other easy-to-prepare vegetables, etc. Everything tasted great and, above all, cleaning up was a breeze. Both of us took much needed, well-deserved naps for the remainder of the day. I'm still tired, but wanted to check in with my dear friends below to wish them a wonderful holiday and weekend as well!!

Our weather for both yesterday and today has been excellent for this time of year. It's brightly sunny with temps reaching as high as 56 degrees by afternoon. Unfortunately, by this weekend, it looks like much colder air will be settling in with another threat of a rain/snow mix reaching us by next Tuesday night into Wednesday. Well, 'tis the season, I guess. Booo - Hisss!! LOL!

Hope that everyone survives this "Black Friday" today if having to work or, worse yet, venturing out to shop for short-timed bargains. Aside from a few simple inside chores, I plan on staying in and resting as much as possible throughout the remainder of the week and weekend. I'm definitely showing my age now as, to me, a "spring chicken" is just something you eat. LOL! BE SAFE & WELL EVERYONE!

Good Morning, Folks!

It appears that our current weather conditions and fronts, for my region, no longer warrant the original potential for some snowfall today! HOO-RAY!! Presently, no precipitation has been seen as yet, despite our local maps showing animated (green) for rainfall. Naturally, I hope this is the same for everyone who must drive on Mass. roadways today.

I guess one can tell I'm no longer into the spirit of our usual New England snowy winters. I'm heartened and crossing fingers that our upcoming forecast may be giving us a couple or few warmer days beginning on Sunday. The daytime temps could reach as high as 50 on Monday which would be better than a "Cyber-Monday" great deal found online.

Hope everyone has had the opportunity to recover from an enjoyable Thanksgiving and are able to shed any extra wobble from all the gobble before our next big holiday less than a month away! YIKES!

Hi Bogon and Folks!

This week, "global warming" hasn't worked too well for us, as our temps have been averaging pretty much into the freezing to below freezing zone. OUCH! Nevertheless, the second day of December's kicking into high gear with a Sunday to Wednesday warming trend of 50-60 degrees! YEAH! My only hope is that this coming winter won't bring about the type of treacherous heavy deep snowfall or storms that were felt in the 2010-2011 winter season. I don't think I have the strength or equipment needed to deal with yet another historically challenging winter. For now, I guess those of us, who are weather novices living in the Northeast, will just have to wait and see what weather the upcoming season and year will bring. Fingers crossed!!

Hope all my dear WU friends out there are doing well and keeping up with the pace of either work or home-related chores, etc. Hard to believe, but there are only 25 more days till Christmas! May the weeks leading up to this very special occasion be healthy, merry and bright for all!
