Good Afternoon All!

Firstly, I want to again thank ALL of my DEAR WU BUDDIES below who posted such wonderful birthday greetings the other day! I thoroughly enjoyed all of them, and you helped make this big milestone in my life much more bearable and full of chuckles!

New ~ It appears, for some reason or other, the YouTube birthday video you previously posted yesterday (which was adorable by the way) somehow scrambled my blog site. I'm not sure if it has to do with newer office computers and embed codes versus older ones, but I noticed that just after you posted it, all my comments buttons disappeared and blog info. (which is usually to the side) scrambled to the bottom. I HOPE YOU DON'T MIND MY HAVING TO DELETE THE BIRTHDAY VIDEO, AS ONCE I DID, MY BLOGSITE RETURNED TO NORMAL. Nevertheless, thanks so much for all of your well intended wishes and subsequently posted terrifically funny cliche's! So apropos!

Mush ~ Now you know why I haven't posted even photo-shopped pics of myself up till now. I tend to freak people out...including myself. BA-WAAAHHH!!!! LOL!

Peace ~ I'm not sure if you realize that the face and hair of that winking old broad graphic in my blog header are my very own. It was copied and pasted from an original group picture done in November while celebrating my mother-in-law's 90th birthday. Understandably, I've always been rather camera shy by nature, but felt under the circumstances, at age 60, that it was futile to hold onto any lingering vanity. LOL! Hope the animated graphic brought a chuckle to you and others.

(((Jus))) ~ I so apologize for not getting around to your blog-site lately. I have had to blog or post sporadically, as there's been so many interruptions (behind the scenes) that I forget where I've left off or with whom I've posted. My memory isn't what it used to be either. Thanks so much for your adorable birthday graphic and hope you and yours are feeling well and also dealing with more favorable weather. Let's hear it for milder winters, as I'm sure it really helps considerably while dealing with those new daily commutes. Stay safe, warm and well!

(((Alley)) ~ That terrific graphic you posted of us ole broads actually isn't that far off from the one I posted of my true self in the header! LOL! Boy, if only I still drank alcohol. I should probably find one of an ole Victorian gal drinking tea and eating crumpets. That's sadly become my speed now. LOL! Hope you're doing better, that your weather's also more cooperatively warmer and that the days ahead will be kinder and gentler to us all!

(((WP))) ~ Great hearing from you again and glad I caught your post! You slipped in well under the wire, as I'm still celebrating my big event from yesterday! Big hearts and hugs to you as well and hope you're doing and feeling fine!

Weather-wise, around here, we're still reasonably above the freezing mark (near 40F degrees) with no apparent signs of snow left on the ground! YEAH! Thursday night into Friday could become a bit problematic as far as how soon the snow to sleet to rain situation times out and whether or not our temps remain far enough above the freezing mark. So far, it looks like any upcoming snow will melt quickly and we'll receive mostly rainfall. I'm still curious to know what ole Punxsutawney Phil will have to say in eight days. This year, our region should see much earlier signs of spring develop in about six weeks time. Can't wait!!!

Hi Rob!

I noticed your posting of that serious storm (via weather map) sweeping through Emmy's area on her blogsite a bit earlier. I, too, hope she's doing well and remains out of harms way! Unfortunately, she's remained incommunicado for the past few weeks, so it's hard to know what's going on with her right now. Hope she'll be able to safely rejoin us again real soon. Do you have any way of getting in touch with her behind the WU scenes? If so, tell her that we're all thinking of her and would appreciate an update as soon as possible!

Things are settling down somewhat now that we've begun processing my father-in-law's auto insurance claim and that his doctor has determined that he's no longer competent to drive. Unfortunately, we now must divy up (amongst my hubby, me and brother-in-law) driving him daily to my M-I-L's nursing home as well as to other essential errands. I think we're also going to be looking into whether or not there are senior transportation services in his area for those seniors who live alone and are unable to drive. Fingers crossed! At least, he also has many friends who have volunteered to take him to and from some of his other outside interests.

Keepin' tabs on Emmy around Houston, TX and Pat plus other WU bloggers living around NOLA, etc.:

Quoting RobDaHood from Emmy's site on Weds., Jan. 25th at 2:28 pm:
At least the Tornado warnings in Houston are gone. One was very close to Emmy's neighborhood. So, Houston may be done with them but there is still one north of Beaumont. I have a feeling this system will spawn a lot of them. Lets just hope I'm wrong this time.

Ok,promise no more posting of youtube videos, unless I feel a little devilish.
Anyway, thats a nasty line of storms moving across the gulf. The weather pattern resembles more like spring with storm systems having a lot of unstable air.
I hope and pray this isn't too bad for those people along the gulf.

Y'all are still young uns. RTLSNK is older that both of you.

And Grothar...I think he's like twice OGal's age. I think he's first cousin to Moses or something like that.

Okay...I gonna run and hide now. Those guys might be long in the tooth but they're still pretty tough!

Evening, Mass ~ Been pretty much out of the loop the past couple of days and just discovered I'd missed your birthday! You're just a young'un - I've got you beat by five years! That means I've got Alley beat, too. Good gosh - I'm going to go find my cane!

Truly, I hope the day was wonderful, and I hope this next year is a good one.

Emmy's fine, unless she was in San Antonio or other mid-state areas. I live right across the lake from her, and we got just under an inch of rain, no wind, etc. It wasn't much of anything here. North and west of Houston they had more rain, and there were a couple of tornados, but nothing horrible. I'm not sure what the system's up to now, but it wasn't as bad as the last one to come through.

Have a good evening - hope the weather continues to treat you well!

Good Morning Folks!

Thanks so much Pat, Rob and Shore for taking the time to check in with me last night with updated info. concerning that serious storm system which swept through parts of TX and So. LA much of yesterday. Glad to know that our friend, Emmy, is probably more A-Okay p/nearby friend, Shore, and remains taking a possibly short-lived sabbatical from WU. Hope, too, that Pat and other WU friends living in Southern portions of LA were spared from any damage as well! I checked in with Pat, on his site a bit earlier, and am awaiting to hear how things went.

NEw ~ Thanks for being such a good sport about the YouTube video debacle! Again, I wish I had the ability to know what elements truly cause certain blogsites to scramble. I don't remember this occurring on WU's classic site at all! As a matter of fact, when things scramble on their newer site, I usually revert to the classic one so to see people's full posts. Hopefully, we can get to the bottom of this technological annoyance before long, as I always enjoy your musical tastes and would hate missing them.

(((Alley )))~

Girlfriend, you must have a crystal ball when it comes to catching an accurate glimpse into one of the main staples of my daily diet, i.e., PRUNE JUICE!!! Again, ROFLMBO! It certainly provides this sixty year old with just enough sufficient fiber and exercise, from running to you know where, after reaping its much needed benefits!! Talk about trailblazing one's way into the sixties and beyond! LOL!!

You and Shore shouldn't feel too bad about your respective ages, as I'm a half-aunt (father's side) to a niece who shall be turning 65 in June. Her fraternal twin-sisters turned 62 in October, so I have had some close local inspiration, through the years, to give me a heads up when needed as well. Nevertheless, you, Shore, Pros, OGal, etc. certainly have inspired and humored all of us into making the most out of any age.

(((OGal))) ~ Great to hear from you again and thanks for your birthday wishes! Hope your weather's settling down and temps are rising in Florida to where you can finally fold away those frost sheets till another year! Thankfully, our recent winter weather and temps have held up rather well this season. Every time an occasional inch or two of snow falls, it melts rather quickly due to this La Nina's warmer than usual weather patterns. I honestly feel that Punxsutawney Phil will find it impossible to find his shadow this year, so that real spring weather will be on our doorstep in short shrift! Can't wait!!! May you and yours remain safe and healthy!

Rob ~ Laughing my head off over your comments about, shall we say, our elder WU statesmen around here! I've come to learn recently (via my 90 yr old father-in-law) that even though some may be "long in the tooth", they can still dig in their heels and intimidate when they wish! LOL! I guess it becomes a lesson in Darwin's theory regarding, "the survival of the fittest". At this point, the trick is in somehow remaining mentally and physically fit enough to deal with such forces. May "the force be with you" and all of us! LOL!

(((Shore))) ~ Again, thanks for the reassuring weather information as well as for your well wishes concerning my birthday and own regional weather! I also must say that your accrued wisdom and talents through the years definitely show much maturity but your wonderfully young-at-heart attitude and curiousity most certainly questions or belies your years! To me, the younger female populous can't come close to your fitness of mind, body and spirit! Thanks so much for helping to lead the way for those of us (not far behind) who are trying desperately to keep up!!

Hello dear Mass! Dropping by quickly to say hello. Will leave a reply on my blog, too as soon as I can.

Seems you and NEw and I are all having the same type of mild winter weather. This is a very, very good thing! Hope you are feeling much better as the days go by recovering from your cold. There are times I still think I have this bug and am actually afraid of getting ill again now because it was soooo nasty. I am carrying all sorts of hand sanitizers, washing my phone at work (I did find someone sitting at my desk yesterday for a meeting? hmmmm) I suppose that it isn't 'mine' but it made me think I better sanitize my phone. I'm totally paranoid now, lol.

Anyhooo, ramble ramble...Have a very nice calm evening!

Good Morning All!

Well, our local METS were right about our mixed bag of overnight weather last night! We woke up to sloppy traces of snow on the ground that have just been quickly washed away by a short strong downpour. Currently, it's begun to clear up again with milder temps expected to reach around 47F (in Methuen) this afternoon! Hopefully, it will all become increasingly better as our day progresses, since our good friend, PeaceMakerBP, celebrates a birthday today! HAVE A GRAND ONE AND A TERRIFIC WEEKEND TO BOOT!

JAN. 27, 2012 - A HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHOUTOUT TO OUR DEAR FRIEND, PEACEMAKERBP!! HOPE THAT OUR INCLEMENT WEATHER DOESN'T PROHIBIT YOUR SPECIAL DAY FROM FEELING SUNNY, WARM AND BRIGHT!

I realize that you're not my Mom, LOL, as this YouTube Simon's Cat Birthday Greeting states at the end, but thought you'd enjoy the sentiment behind it nonetheless.

........

This is quite the week of birthdays for us fellow/female Wunderground Aquarians and hope that most of you will be around tomorrow, Sat. Jan. 28th, as we celebrate another dear friend, Prosperpina's special day!

Jus ~ So glad to hear from you and fully understand your concerns or "paranoia" about relapsing during this nasty cold/flu season that's been going around in circles! I'm grateful that my sniffles and seal bark have gone away, but this darn thing has left me still feeling a bit peaked. I guess it didn't help having recent stressful family events compound things. Major stress can really weaken the ole immune system. Nevertheless, hope that, with February just around the corner, better weather, temps and even ole Punxsutawney Phil will assist us in lightening our spirits and vanquishing all ills. One can only hope! LOL! In the meantime, stay safe, warm, dry and keep washing your hands with plain soap and/or dabbing on that hand sanitizer ... it can't hurt!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I'm so happy to hear from both Gamma and Pros yesterday and glad you've both enjoyed graphics created for those of us, Aquarians, who celebrated birthdays this week! It's always my pleasure!

SAT., JAN. 28, 2012 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DEAR FRIEND, ((((PROS))))!

Click on birthday graphic below for the theme song from the music soundtrack of "Life Is Beautiful".

.................................

(((Gamma)))~ I fully understand how busy you and many of us have been these past few weeks. I've been struggling to keep or catch up with posting myself due to either illness or family happenstance. Nevertheless, your greetings are very much appreciated and hope you didn't mind my sharing that elaborate humorous true tale, concerning the pink flamingo lawn ornament caper, posted on your blogsite the other day. Every time I see a picture of them either real or fake, I automatically recall that newstory from years ago. It still make me chuckle heartily!

(((Pros))) ~ So happy you enjoyed my special birthday tribute to you, as well as, those very special tunes selected to accompany it. A few days ago, while listening to the Music Choice selection on my TV, the theme song to the movie, "A Beautiful Life" happened to come on. It instantly registered with me that this would be the perfect song to post for your special day due to your much respected ethnicity and biographical background. I, too, loved and was deeply moved by this movie from around 1998 and can fully understand and appreciate why it meant so much to you as well! Guess we're not Aquarian soul-sisters for nuttin'! LOL!

This Sunday morning is filled with bright sunshine, albeit slightly chillier temps than yesterday. It appears that we might have some slight overnight snowfall, but by morning the streets or ground should be clear. Hopefully, any pending snowfall to arrive this week will also quickly vanish, as I don't want ole Punxsutawney Phil to find any traces of his shadow come Thursday! As usual KEEP THINKIN' SPRING!! LOL!

Remain safe and well everyone and have a most pleasant remainder to your weekend!

Good Evening All!

It's been an extremely hectic couple of days for me, and I've finally found some time to post here online.

I've noticed on a local TV website's weather site/blog, that their METS believe that the Northeast could be in for a stark contrast to the milder winter we've experienced up till now. Seems that we may switch weather and temps with the West Coast of the US and begin experiencing colder temps with possibly up to 15 inches of accummulated snow by the end of Feb. and the beginning of March! ARGH!!

Currently, Terry Eliason, Meterologist with WBZ-TV and Executive Producer has summed it up best. Check out the safe link to his blog page below:

8 to 14 Day Outlooks
Valid: February 08 2012 to February 14 2012

I would explore the above further with you, but right now I'm totally exhausted and in need of a good meal and nap.

Hope everyone's doing well, feeling healthy and will remain safe as we trudge our way through the final phase of a possibly challenging six remaining weeks of winter.
