Good Morning Mass!

Read the title about a fairly pleasant end of Jan., then your post above predicting a dire Feb. Wondering what I ground hog is gonna have to say about that tomorrow?

Hope you got some rest and have a good day today!

Good Evening All!

It's been an extremely hectic couple of days for me, and I've finally found some time to post here online.

I've noticed on a local TV website's weather site/blog, that their METS believe that the Northeast could be in for a stark contrast to the milder winter we've experienced up till now. Seems that we may switch weather and temps with the West Coast of the US and begin experiencing colder temps with possibly up to 15 inches of accummulated snow by the end of Feb. and the beginning of March! ARGH!!

Currently, Terry Eliason, Meterologist with WBZ-TV and Executive Producer has summed it up best. Check out the safe link to his blog page below:

I would explore the above further with you, but right now I'm totally exhausted and in need of a good meal and nap.

Hope everyone's doing well, feeling healthy and will remain safe as we trudge our way through the final phase of a possibly challenging six remaining weeks of winter.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I'm so happy to hear from both Gamma and Pros yesterday and glad you've both enjoyed graphics created for those of us, Aquarians, who celebrated birthdays this week! It's always my pleasure!

SAT., JAN. 28, 2012 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DEAR FRIEND, ((((PROS))))!

Click on birthday graphic below for the theme song from the music soundtrack of "Life Is Beautiful".

.................................

(((Gamma)))~ I fully understand how busy you and many of us have been these past few weeks. I've been struggling to keep or catch up with posting myself due to either illness or family happenstance. Nevertheless, your greetings are very much appreciated and hope you didn't mind my sharing that elaborate humorous true tale, concerning the pink flamingo lawn ornament caper, posted on your blogsite the other day. Every time I see a picture of them either real or fake, I automatically recall that newstory from years ago. It still make me chuckle heartily!

Quoting Proserpina:
Mass, my Aquarius sister, you are the best! Thank you very much for the beautiful graphics you prepared for my birthday, all the greetings, songs, etc. I wonder if you know that I absolutely love the movie Life is Beautiful. It touches my heart on many levels. Big thanks yous and big hugs.

..............................

(((Pros))) ~ So happy you enjoyed my special birthday tribute to you, as well as, those very special tunes selected to accompany it. A few days ago, while listening to the Music Choice selection on my TV, the theme song to the movie, "A Beautiful Life" happened to come on. It instantly registered with me that this would be the perfect song to post for your special day due to your much respected ethnicity and biographical background. I, too, loved and was deeply moved by this movie from around 1998 and can fully understand and appreciate why it meant so much to you as well! Guess we're not Aquarian soul-sisters for nuttin'! LOL!

This Sunday morning is filled with bright sunshine, albeit slightly chillier temps than yesterday. It appears that we might have some slight overnight snowfall, but by morning the streets or ground should be clear. Hopefully, any pending snowfall to arrive this week will also quickly vanish, as I don't want ole Punxsutawney Phil to find any traces of his shadow come Thursday! As usual KEEP THINKIN' SPRING!! LOL!

Remain safe and well everyone and have a most pleasant remainder to your weekend!

Good Morning All!

Well, our local METS were right about our mixed bag of overnight weather last night! We woke up to sloppy traces of snow on the ground that have just been quickly washed away by a short strong downpour. Currently, it's begun to clear up again with milder temps expected to reach around 47F (in Methuen) this afternoon! Hopefully, it will all become increasingly better as our day progresses, since our good friend, PeaceMakerBP, celebrates a birthday today! HAVE A GRAND ONE AND A TERRIFIC WEEKEND TO BOOT!

JAN. 27, 2012 - A HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHOUTOUT TO OUR DEAR FRIEND, PEACEMAKERBP!! HOPE THAT OUR INCLEMENT WEATHER DOESN'T PROHIBIT YOUR SPECIAL DAY FROM FEELING SUNNY, WARM AND BRIGHT!

I realize that you're not my Mom, LOL, as this YouTube Simon's Cat Birthday Greeting states at the end, but thought you'd enjoy the sentiment behind it nonetheless.

........

This is quite the week of birthdays for us fellow/female Wunderground Aquarians and hope that most of you will be around tomorrow, Sat. Jan. 28th, as we celebrate another dear friend, Prosperpina's special day!

Jus ~ So glad to hear from you and fully understand your concerns or "paranoia" about relapsing during this nasty cold/flu season that's been going around in circles! I'm grateful that my sniffles and seal bark have gone away, but this darn thing has left me still feeling a bit peaked. I guess it didn't help having recent stressful family events compound things. Major stress can really weaken the ole immune system. Nevertheless, hope that, with February just around the corner, better weather, temps and even ole Punxsutawney Phil will assist us in lightening our spirits and vanquishing all ills. One can only hope! LOL! In the meantime, stay safe, warm, dry and keep washing your hands with plain soap and/or dabbing on that hand sanitizer ... it can't hurt!

Hello dear Mass! Dropping by quickly to say hello. Will leave a reply on my blog, too as soon as I can.

Seems you and NEw and I are all having the same type of mild winter weather. This is a very, very good thing! Hope you are feeling much better as the days go by recovering from your cold. There are times I still think I have this bug and am actually afraid of getting ill again now because it was soooo nasty. I am carrying all sorts of hand sanitizers, washing my phone at work (I did find someone sitting at my desk yesterday for a meeting? hmmmm) I suppose that it isn't 'mine' but it made me think I better sanitize my phone. I'm totally paranoid now, lol.

Anyhooo, ramble ramble...Have a very nice calm evening!

Good Morning Folks!

Thanks so much Pat, Rob and Shore for taking the time to check in with me last night with updated info. concerning that serious storm system which swept through parts of TX and So. LA much of yesterday. Glad to know that our friend, Emmy, is probably more A-Okay p/nearby friend, Shore, and remains taking a possibly short-lived sabbatical from WU. Hope, too, that Pat and other WU friends living in Southern portions of LA were spared from any damage as well! I checked in with Pat, on his site a bit earlier, and am awaiting to hear how things went.

NEw ~ Thanks for being such a good sport about the YouTube video debacle! Again, I wish I had the ability to know what elements truly cause certain blogsites to scramble. I don't remember this occurring on WU's classic site at all! As a matter of fact, when things scramble on their newer site, I usually revert to the classic one so to see people's full posts. Hopefully, we can get to the bottom of this technological annoyance before long, as I always enjoy your musical tastes and would hate missing them.

(((Alley )))~
Quoting Alleyoops:
Hey MASS we can always pretend that is prune juice in the glass in that graphic of 2 old broads. Just remember no matter how much you try, you will never catch me..I will always be 3.5 yrs older than you...LOL Let's just say, I am testing the water for when you reach it....

Hope you are having a wonderful birthday my dear friend.

Girlfriend, you must have a crystal ball when it comes to catching an accurate glimpse into one of the main staples of my daily diet, i.e., PRUNE JUICE!!! Again, ROFLMBO! It certainly provides this sixty year old with just enough sufficient fiber and exercise, from running to you know where, after reaping its much needed benefits!! Talk about trailblazing one's way into the sixties and beyond! LOL!!

You and Shore shouldn't feel too bad about your respective ages, as I'm a half-aunt (father's side) to a niece who shall be turning 65 in June. Her fraternal twin-sisters turned 62 in October, so I have had some close local inspiration, through the years, to give me a heads up when needed as well. Nevertheless, you, Shore, Pros, OGal, etc. certainly have inspired and humored all of us into making the most out of any age.

(((OGal))) ~ Great to hear from you again and thanks for your birthday wishes! Hope your weather's settling down and temps are rising in Florida to where you can finally fold away those frost sheets till another year! Thankfully, our recent winter weather and temps have held up rather well this season. Every time an occasional inch or two of snow falls, it melts rather quickly due to this La Nina's warmer than usual weather patterns. I honestly feel that Punxsutawney Phil will find it impossible to find his shadow this year, so that real spring weather will be on our doorstep in short shrift! Can't wait!!! May you and yours remain safe and healthy!

Rob ~ Laughing my head off over your comments about, shall we say, our elder WU statesmen around here! I've come to learn recently (via my 90 yr old father-in-law) that even though some may be "long in the tooth", they can still dig in their heels and intimidate when they wish! LOL! I guess it becomes a lesson in Darwin's theory regarding, "the survival of the fittest". At this point, the trick is in somehow remaining mentally and physically fit enough to deal with such forces. May "the force be with you" and all of us! LOL!

(((Shore))) ~ Again, thanks for the reassuring weather information as well as for your well wishes concerning my birthday and own regional weather! I also must say that your accrued wisdom and talents through the years definitely show much maturity but your wonderfully young-at-heart attitude and curiousity most certainly questions or belies your years! To me, the younger female populous can't come close to your fitness of mind, body and spirit! Thanks so much for helping to lead the way for those of us (not far behind) who are trying desperately to keep up!!

Evening, Mass ~ Been pretty much out of the loop the past couple of days and just discovered I'd missed your birthday! You're just a young'un - I've got you beat by five years! That means I've got Alley beat, too. Good gosh - I'm going to go find my cane!

Truly, I hope the day was wonderful, and I hope this next year is a good one.

Emmy's fine, unless she was in San Antonio or other mid-state areas. I live right across the lake from her, and we got just under an inch of rain, no wind, etc. It wasn't much of anything here. North and west of Houston they had more rain, and there were a couple of tornados, but nothing horrible. I'm not sure what the system's up to now, but it wasn't as bad as the last one to come through.

Have a good evening - hope the weather continues to treat you well!

Anyway, thats a nasty line of storms moving across the gulf. The weather pattern resembles more like spring with storm systems having a lot of unstable air.
I hope and pray this isn't too bad for those people along the gulf.

Not liking The warnings near Emmy's place!

Hope your day is going well!

Hi Rob!

I noticed your posting of that serious storm (via weather map) sweeping through Emmy's area on her blogsite a bit earlier. I, too, hope she's doing well and remains out of harms way! Unfortunately, she's remained incommunicado for the past few weeks, so it's hard to know what's going on with her right now. Hope she'll be able to safely rejoin us again real soon. Do you have any way of getting in touch with her behind the WU scenes? If so, tell her that we're all thinking of her and would appreciate an update as soon as possible!

Things are settling down somewhat now that we've begun processing my father-in-law's auto insurance claim and that his doctor has determined that he's no longer competent to drive. Unfortunately, we now must divy up (amongst my hubby, me and brother-in-law) driving him daily to my M-I-L's nursing home as well as to other essential errands. I think we're also going to be looking into whether or not there are senior transportation services in his area for those seniors who live alone and are unable to drive. Fingers crossed! At least, he also has many friends who have volunteered to take him to and from some of his other outside interests.

Keepin' tabs on Emmy around Houston, TX and Pat plus other WU bloggers living around NOLA, etc.:

Quoting RobDaHood from Emmy's site on Weds., Jan. 25th at 2:28 pm:
At least the Tornado warnings in Houston are gone. One was very close to Emmy's neighborhood. So, Houston may be done with them but there is still one north of Beaumont. I have a feeling this system will spawn a lot of them. Lets just hope I'm wrong this time.

Good Afternoon All!

Firstly, I want to again thank ALL of my DEAR WU BUDDIES below who posted such wonderful birthday greetings the other day! I thoroughly enjoyed all of them, and you helped make this big milestone in my life much more bearable and full of chuckles!

New ~ It appears, for some reason or other, the YouTube birthday video you previously posted yesterday (which was adorable by the way) somehow scrambled my blog site. I'm not sure if it has to do with newer office computers and embed codes versus older ones, but I noticed that just after you posted it, all my comments buttons disappeared and blog info. (which is usually to the side) scrambled to the bottom. I HOPE YOU DON'T MIND MY HAVING TO DELETE THE BIRTHDAY VIDEO, AS ONCE I DID, MY BLOGSITE RETURNED TO NORMAL. Nevertheless, thanks so much for all of your well intended wishes and subsequently posted terrifically funny cliche's! So apropos!

Mush ~ Now you know why I haven't posted even photo-shopped pics of myself up till now. I tend to freak people out...including myself. BA-WAAAHHH!!!! LOL!

Peace ~ I'm not sure if you realize that the face and hair of that winking old broad graphic in my blog header are my very own. It was copied and pasted from an original group picture done in November while celebrating my mother-in-law's 90th birthday. Understandably, I've always been rather camera shy by nature, but felt under the circumstances, at age 60, that it was futile to hold onto any lingering vanity. LOL! Hope the animated graphic brought a chuckle to you and others.

(((Jus))) ~ I so apologize for not getting around to your blog-site lately. I have had to blog or post sporadically, as there's been so many interruptions (behind the scenes) that I forget where I've left off or with whom I've posted. My memory isn't what it used to be either. Thanks so much for your adorable birthday graphic and hope you and yours are feeling well and also dealing with more favorable weather. Let's hear it for milder winters, as I'm sure it really helps considerably while dealing with those new daily commutes. Stay safe, warm and well!

(((Alley)) ~ That terrific graphic you posted of us ole broads actually isn't that far off from the one I posted of my true self in the header! LOL! Boy, if only I still drank alcohol. I should probably find one of an ole Victorian gal drinking tea and eating crumpets. That's sadly become my speed now. LOL! Hope you're doing better, that your weather's also more cooperatively warmer and that the days ahead will be kinder and gentler to us all!

(((WP))) ~ Great hearing from you again and glad I caught your post! You slipped in well under the wire, as I'm still celebrating my big event from yesterday! Big hearts and hugs to you as well and hope you're doing and feeling fine!

Weather-wise, around here, we're still reasonably above the freezing mark (near 40F degrees) with no apparent signs of snow left on the ground! YEAH! Thursday night into Friday could become a bit problematic as far as how soon the snow to sleet to rain situation times out and whether or not our temps remain far enough above the freezing mark. So far, it looks like any upcoming snow will melt quickly and we'll receive mostly rainfall. I'm still curious to know what ole Punxsutawney Phil will have to say in eight days. This year, our region should see much earlier signs of spring develop in about six weeks time. Can't wait!!!

Thanks so much (((KAT)))! I posted a lengthier reply on Pros's site and transfered the image of the cake over to here. I'm so confused in my ole age! LOL!

I noticed that after NEw posted his birthday video, my site became scrambled. I think it has to do with the settings on his computer because this has happened before both here and on his site when he posts videos. I guess tomorrow I'll have to transfer my blog header onto a new one, as it seems to do the trick on these occasions. Until then, I'm thoroughly enjoying all the birthday posts from my dear WU buddies!

Good Mornin' All~

This is quite an auspicious occasion for me, as I'm now facing a whole new decade of my life... the sixties. I have no idea what's in store for me this go round, but hopefully, it won't be too overwhelming. I continue struggling to get my strength back from the nasty bug that doesn't want to totally leave me, along with other family matters which are seemingly beyond my control right now. Nevertheless, I'm heartened by the fact that, weatherwise, our current temps are climbing to near springlike levels which can brighten anyone's day. Recent Januarys and birthdays have usually been plagued with bad weather or some unexpected crisis, so hopefully this particular unseasonably warmer birthday provides a better omen for the days ahead.

Usually, I'm quite shy about posting any pictures of myself but thought, for once, it would be alright to post my real face rather than my usual cartoon moniker alone. Hope you get a kick out of it, as I'm most obviously a firm believer in self-deprecating humor. LOL!

Rob ~ So great to hear from you again and thanks for the supportive comments concerning aging parents or in-laws. It can be such a dilemma trying to ease a 90 yr old into giving up a certain portion of his or her independence or self-reliance. I try and put myself in his or her shoes, but hope that I will always have the mental faculties to know what is truly in everyone's best interest and/or safety. Hope you and yours are doing well and have a decent year ahead! I know you're usually very busy but, stop by anytime you have the chance!

(((Pros )))~ Thanks so much, dear Aquarian soul-sister, for your lovely birthday graphic below. It means so much to me. I've been working on a special one for your special occasion coming up on Saturday! Hopefully, enough people will be around to help celebrate with mirth and merriment.

Ylee ~ Hi there! Thank you, as well, for your terrific birthday greeting and graphic! It really lends a broad smile and cheer to my special birthday! Hope you and yours are doing well and your work-week runs smoothly. Drop by anytime to say hello!

(((Peace))) ~ Thanks so much for your lovely greeting and fabulous cake graphic below! I'd like to see Betty Crocker try and top that cake! LOL!

You just slipped in, while I try to hammer out this semi-lengthy post. Hope you're feeling much better from this bug that's been making the rounds. I know that you've been slammed with earlier cases of the flue along with headcolds this year. It's amazingly peculiar how, this winter, a warmer than usual season around here has brought about so much health havoc. Last year, we all seemed to endure many more challenges with nary a sniffle. I guess it's becoming a trade-off with age? Hope you're feeling more in the pink and will be up for your upcoming birthday celebration as well! We could all use some supportive mirth and merriment!

P.S. Anyone know what's going on with NOAA and NWS this morning? My maps and links have all disappeared! Have they been hacked? Are they protesting something or have budget cuts caught up with them? Just curious as I cannot get onto any aspects of their website at all.

Hey Mass!

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law, but glad that everyone is okay. Really not looking forward to the day that I have to take my dad's keys away. It will probably be a while, but I told my brother that he is gonna be here when the day comes. Stubborn would be putting it mildly!

Good Morning All ~

I'm sorry I never got around to blogging over the weekend, as on Friday afternoon, my 90 yr old father-in-law got into a car accident at an intersection nearby. Thankfully, he only ended up with a few bumps and bruises (due to deployed airbags) but the front end of his car is totalled. The person in the other car involved is thankfully fine as well, but it is now obvious (to the obstinate men in this family) that his driving days are over let alone numbered.

Hopefully, we can make other safer arrangements for my father-in-law's transportation; besides taking turns with my brother-in-law to drive him daily to my mother-in-law's nursing home which is 17 miles away or for his other errands. He can be really ornery and obstinate when it comes to having others drive him places or assist him in any way. It can be so emotionally and physically exhausting, but we shall have to persevere while reasoning with him throughout.

On the plus side of things, our weather and my health are improving slowly but surely. Tomorrow, we could see a warm up to near 50F degrees and it looks like the remaining daytime highs of the week may stay above freezing as well. This makes for quite the pleasant and needed reprieve right now, for as my 60th birthday will testify tomorrow, I'm not as resilient as I once was! LOL! I'm also grateful that a close buddy of mine, who lives in Little Rock, AR, wasn't effected by the serious tornadoes that ripped through parts of the state the other day. It looks like, a few of the western parts of our country are being hard hit by other types of nasty elements as well. Guess it's their turn for heavy snowstorms. :(

Congrats to the PATS on on their 2011 AFC squeeker of a win over the Ravens! Good luck to them against the NY Giants in Indianapolis on Super Bowl Sunday, February 5th! Sorry to say this, but I think they'll definitely need all the luck they can get.

A sad note or addendum to my previous post -

RIP - ETTA JAMES!

The famous R & B singer and fellow Aquarian, Etta James, passed away today just five days shy of what would have been her 74th birthday. (Jan. 25, 1938 - Jan. 20, 2012) I have always loved her classic rendition of "At Last" as one of my all time favorite tunes and thought it appropriate to post as we have lost yet another great musical talent from a bygone era.

Good Morning Jus, Pros and All!

Woke up to a slight "Winter Wonderland" after receiving approximately 2 plus inches of snow on the ground. It appears some of our town's plowers are already trying to capitalize on this minor event by scraping what they can off of the streets. LOL! Quite honestly, the sun's rays are giving them a run for their money, as the snow's melting from the roads rather quickly.

This weekend could bring mixed results in the way of a few more inches of snow, then freezing rain and possibly ice pellets on Monday. Naturally, we hope this doesn't create any seriously damaging effects or power outages. We've had enough to deal with already and don't need to battle both a residual headcold along with the cold of a powerless house.

I still haven't reached my peak stamina levels just yet, but hope to gradually pace my way around the blogs to say hello and thanks. It always helps the ole morale to hear from my terrific blogging buddies; especially, when feelin' under the weather or just a bit blue. It goes a long way towards a full recovery!

May all of you remain healthy, safe and/or recover quickly from any bouts of illness as well!

Mass, how is it going this morning? Is it as cold there as it is here? We are expecting some wintry mix tonight and continued cold. Hopefully we will not have the ice by morning that they are predicting. I'll take almost anything but ice.

Stay well and stay warm my MA Mass!

Hi Mass, glad that you are feeling better. Now get rid of the darn bug altogether! There are a lot of people in this area who are also suffering from some bug. I have had sinus problems but I think it is my mold allergies rather than a cold. UGH!

We too have had frigid temperatures and getting colder for the next few days. But then, it is winter.

Came by to say hello and to see how you are doing. Take care Mass and get well.

Sooooo happy to see your posts and updates. Glad you are fighting this off. Keep fighting and taking very good care and maybe next week you will begin to feel much better. It has taken many almost a month to recover fully.
(am going to also leave a reply on my blog later when possible) So, relax, rest, stay warm! Happy just to see you up and about for a few!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for all your posts of well wishes, thoughts and suggestions regarding this nasty bug I and many others have somehow contracted in recent weeks. Ordinarily, I have always managed to cope with these things a lot easier, but it's the feeling of lingering physical weakness that has me on edge. It's so hard to focus with this darn fuzziness in my head and aching rib cage. At least, my seal cough has subsided and it's just a matter of allowing myself enough time to regain total strength. I tend to jump the gun on that issue, but realize a relapse would really set me back too far. I have to remember that sometimes patience is a virtue in more ways than one!

Click on below for the sounds of this uncommon head/chest cold that's had me and many others in its grip for the past week or so. Sound sadly familiar to anyone?

OGal ~ Great to hear from you again and hope your nasty bug has retreated to where you feel functionable (word?) again. No fun dealing with the weather elements on plantlife, in general, while also trying to cope with a nasty bug yourself. This year, it's time to put ourselves first.

I heard about that centuries old Floridian tree, "the Senator" being burnt to the ground by an alleged arsonist. Truly sad how many disturbed people there are who just don't care about our landscape or botony. Hope that whoever did it left enough clues behind to catch and apprehend!

NEw ~ Thanks good buddy and hope your wife's acute gastritis has become more manageable through dietary changes and medicine. I'm sorry I didn't post something on your blog the other day in regard to her recent late night ER visit. I suffered from that as a kid and know full well how painful an episode can be. I still can't stand to look at liquid Maalox to this very day.

Briar ~ I am of the same mindset as you when it comes to the attempts of controlling coughs. I've been using the generic-type of Ricola cough drops and have found them equally beneficial. I usually buy packages that contain honey, lemon, menthol and eucalyptus in them for they seem to not only soothe the throat, but open the nasal passages as well. Love the temporary relief each losenge brings! Hope you're doing well and have managed to escape this nasty virus!

Shore ~ Hi and glad to hear you've overcome your bout with this bug. You're lucky not to have developed the hacking cough that seems to accompany it, but understandably, even nasal congestion alone can knock us off our feet these days. Hopefully, like you, I'll rebound slowly but surely and feel more clear headed to post, etc. Right now, I'm not sure if I'm making any sense as I type this or seem to remember what I'm typing. LOL! Par for this gal right now. Thanks for your thoughts and well wishes and hope all of us catch up to better health and weather in short order.

Peace ~ So sorry that you've been upended by yet virus or headcold. Initially, I wondered if this thing were more regional in nature; however, it appears just about everyone nationwide seems to be catching this darn thing. Hope you have enough stamina in reserve to combat this round and it won't put you too far behind at work. It doesn't help feeling stressed out about other things while trying to back on one's feet ... I know.

Jus ~ So glad to hear from you again and hope you, too, have regained your health from your recent bout. Seems the temperature swings, especially to single digits, aren't helping us much. I know that I remain mystified as to how I could have picked this darn thing up. I haven't been outside much and dress warmly when I do. I continue to eat a healthy diet, take my vitamins, get my yearly flu shots, etc. and yet, bammo. It's amazing how well I fared these past few years under major stress, little sleep, power outages, snow steeped mountainously high, etc. with nary a sniffle to mention. Guess there's a price to pay when lulled by a winter's above average thermometer readings. LOL!

As far as staying ahead of the curve on the MLK, Jr. countdown clock I had posted earlier, it served as a reminder that "I have a dream" that better times will be on their way for all of us, especially in the 362 days remaining till his next celebrated birthday, and that we will always remember "not to judge people by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Famous words to ponder and live by in these turbulent times as well!

Pat ~ Thanks good buddy and so sorry about your beloved Saints losing to those darn 49 ers. I was so rooting for Drew Brees to stay ahead of them. I'm sure it won't be long till Tom Brady follows suit either this weekend or if the PATS miraculously make it to the Super Bowl. I don't trust our defense against those upcoming playoff teams.

I'm wondering if you've heard from JFlorida lately, as I really miss his annual blogs about the seasonal flu epidemics. They were alway so informative and helpful. I think his blog was hacked last year by some nefarious troll and then banned. Pathetically sad and a loss for WU.

Mass, I got such a HUGE kick out of your counter up at the top rolling over and saying 'There are 370 more days until Martin Luther King Jr. Day' wa hahahaha! Truly, truly think you should keep that one up there! Cracked me up! However, however...it means you are still under the weather :( Gosh it is a nasty bug! Hoping at this point you are under a doctor's care?? Antibiotic?? We all just want you to feel better and hope you are resting comfortably in a snuggly on the couch :)
(Wait, how can there be 370 days until Martin Luther King Jr. Day? oooohhh nvrmnd, my brain hurts)

Mass, what you have truly sounds to me like what's been roaming Texas, laying people low right and left. I had it, and it was no fun. I don't think it was exactly the flu, as I had no fever, but the rest of it was there, and took forever to go away. Luckily I didn't have much of a cough, either, and I thank my lucky stars for that. It's no fun.

I just saw OGal's comment about the tree. That is so distressing - more and more often I find myself reading the news and just getting angry. What IS it with people, that they have to do such things? Grumpgrumpgrump.... I'll leave it along - it's just sad. That tree never hurt anyone.

I see you're at 43 right now - that doesn't sound too bad. I hope the weather stays decent so you're not forced to go out in pure nastiness! Have that bit of wine BriarCraft recommended!

I don't know about you, Mass, but whenever I get a cold, it seems the cough just lingers for way too long. I have found that the original Ricola cough drops do provide some relief. And even though I don't care at all for wine, I've found a sip or two can really cut the phlegm better than anything else I've tried. Maybe one or the other will give you some relief from seal barking coughs and sore ribs.
