NEXT PATS PRE-SEASON EXHIBITION GAME:

Boy, the PATS lose one lousy exhibition game against the St. Louis Rams last Thursday night and Wunderground takes away the PATS weather sticker they provided us earlier. What gives WU Admin. guys? Someone must be a NY Giants fan and feels threatened about this Thursday's game, Sept. 2nd at 8:00 pm! LOL's!
???? Where for art thou PATS STICKER?Click for full game report!

DEAR FRIENDS ~

This week, we, in the Northeast, will definitely need to keep an eye on Hurricane Earl which remains a(Category 4) storm and is currently situated around the Turk and Caymen Islands about 135 miles NE of Grand Turk! (See Stormplus link, 5-Day and Ensemble Models below) Thus far, it still looks to be tracking fairly close towards our Eastern Seaboard! As of Monday night and tonight, local meteorologists feel that Cape Cod, MA and the Islands could experience the fringe effects of Earl (40 plus MPH or Tropical Storm status) while remaining 100 miles east of them. Nantucket Island could bear most of the brunt of the T/S effects. Hopefully, there won't be too much of an oceanic backlash or much further beach erosion to our already quite dwindling shorelines.

(Category 4) 23 degrees N., 69.9 degrees W., Wind Speed remains 135 mph, Gusts to 160 MPH Pressure 940 mb, movement WNW at 15 mph. (See link below)

I couldn't help but think of that ole 60's tune, particularly the melody, of "I'm a Girl Watcher" by the O'Kaysons when deciding my blog-header today. Seems so aprospos right now!

Please excuse me while I paraphrase its' lyrics -- LOL's!

I'm An Earl watcher
I'm An Earl watcher
Watchin' canes go by
My Oh My

I'm An Earl watcher
I'm An Earl watcher
Here comes one now!!!
Mmmm, mmm, mmm

When I was just a girl
When I became so focused on swirls
I found a new pastime
To dwell on

Whenever I detect
Canes of the other sex
I count on forecasters who do it so well, oh

I'm an Earl watcher
I'm an Earl watcher
Watchin' swirls go by
My, oh, my

I'm an Earl watcher
I'm a Earl watcher
Here comes one now!!

Hello there, Mr. Earl
My, my, but you do look swelled
Could you please go
A little slower

I wonder if you know
That you're putting on a show
Could you please go
Very much farther

I'm an Earl watcher
I'm an Earl watcher
Watchin' swirls go by
My, oh, my

I'm an Earl watcher
I'm an Earl watcher
Here comes one now!!!!

(Me): NO-O-O-O-O-O!!!!

... As of 11:00 PM 8-31-10, Fiona is showing signs of weakening into a Tropical Depression from a Tropical Storm by Friday! YEAH! Glad she's mulling over her infatuation with Earl!

I love this pic I found in the Approved Photos section of WU. It's so reflective of August and the waning days of summer. Wish we could all get together to relax near the cooling water's edge, while gentle cooling breezes blew any/all humidity away to sea. Guess we'll just have to use our imagination for awhile longer. ENJOY!

FRIENDS ~

Our good friend, Tony aka Plapman, was hospitalized late Mon., Aug. 23, due to suffering yet another stroke. (Per his wife, Queen on Aug. 29th). I know how difficult it is for a loved one to overcome such an ordeal, as well as, the possibility of set backs occurring when least expected. Hope that Tony has the ability to overcome this new major hurdle and will be able to return to posting with us again sometime in the foreseeable future! In the meantime, I'm sending continual prayers and best wishes his way!

DEAR TONY!
