07:10, 70F, clear. orange sky in east. roosters crowing. walk with pup down lane. guardian comes in yard and plays coy with pup who doesn't know from coy. english muffin with smoked mullet spread for breakfast.
11:10, 85F, wash on clothes line. pup on tether to keep her from chasing deer. guardian under pick-up, snoozing. working on lawn mower, looking for oil.
12:30, 88F, sunny. found oil, got mower working. mowed front yard, side yards, back yard to clothes line. raked up 5 gallon bucket of mowed grass for chickens. muggy out. soaked my tee-shirt. pup and I collapsing in kitchen. smells great outside - fresh mown grass!
17:10, 85F, partly cloudy, partly sunny. clothes dry, folded, and taken in. got one egg. long walk with pup.
19:00, 83F, bronze light, long shadows. muted orange sun set. 2 deer hurrying across donkey woodlot.
21:20, 77F, a mist. waxing gibbous moon over sheep pasture. stars dimmed from moonlight. barred owl carrying on in donkey woodlot. guardian in sheep fold. dixie prowling yard.
