07:20, 73F, a fog. slight northerly breeze. waning half moon high in sky. roosters crowing. guardian somewhere in sheep area. deer browsing among dog fennel patches in cactus field. pup scents them. guardian shows up. barking. tangerine sunrise. songbirds twitter. lemon-pepper chicken and swiss melt on english muffin for breakfast. drooling pup gets special healthy dog biscuit.
10:00, medium tide falling at CK. going out to atsena otie to pull the big net and identify fish and plants for a 4-H marine biology club. 80-85F. east wind, 10 knts. clocking south by the afternoon, 5-8 knts. sunny. water temps in mid-80's. everyone enjoyed the day. lunch under shady cedar tree with pleasant breeze from SE.
bugs stayed away!
16:10, low tide rising with spoonbills dabbling in mud. 85F, south wind, 6 knts. heading for hay guy's farm to get some bales - storing hay away like a squirrel with pecans. wild turkey family perusing cow pasture.
17:10, 92F at back door, sunny. deer in cactus field. got 1 egg. unloaded hay. pup and guardian barking at deer. dumb dogs.
19:00, 82F, donkeys griping. hay for everyone.
21:00, 78F, a mist. the brighter stars dimly showing. a lot of crickets. guardian in fold. pup still limping but doesn't let it crimp her style...

usually I wait until after storm season to start hoarding hay, but the hay guy's already got his little barn full and is encouraging his regular customers to buy early. the price is right! so hoping we don't get anything to smash the barn and put me in the poor house...
