07:30, 72F, a mist. sun's up. roosters crowing. guardian out and frisky in the yard. walked pup down the lane. new sun rays illuminate several deer browsing in the grape vines on the west end of the cactus field. bacon for breakfast. recorded 3.1" rain since saturday.
11:00, medium tide rising at CK. east wind, 8 knts. 82F.
fed cat. washed last trawl which needs mending. rain coming in from east. not a good day for the lines to dry. washed and stowed gear away until september 1st when sampling will start again.
16:00, high tide at #4 bridge. great egrets in the flooded marsh.
18:10, 78F at back door. overcast. 0.7" of rain flooded sheep yard again. soaked guardian at the gate. got 1 egg.
21:00, 75F, mostly cloudy. a fog. waning full moon appears and disappears. some stars. pup investigates all the bushes in the lane. guardian patrols fence in sheep pasture. a quiet night.
