north florida - wild florida - suwannee sound

05:30, 73F. pink skies in the east. mostly clear. woke up roosters. walked pup. packing a lunch.
08:00, medium tide rising at CK. 78F, SE wind, 10 knts. sunny.
sampling the fishes of suwannee sound. 4 offshore sets with the bait seine and 6 trawls offshore. deepest trawl was 6 meters, 19' of water. visibility good. a few pods of bait - one with mackerel bothering them. cormorants, brown pelicans. identified, measured, and counted our catch. one trawl netted 13 atlantic stingrays. another some flat fish. another, 18 florida fighting conches as by-catch. bait net snagged mostly anchovies, and YOY thread-fin herring. sun got hot. glad for the bimini top. clouds mostly cirrus that blew off from the west. water temps, mid 80's. comb jellies abound. trawled up a very heavy, coral and barnacle encrusted slab . back overboard. strange object.
16:00, 86F, west wind, 3 knts. bought a dove ice cream bar and headed home.
18:30, 84F, clouding up. distant thunder. mowed until thunder got close. west yard and back to the clothesline. never got any rain. just thunder rummaging around in the pines. got 3 eggs.
21:20, 78F, mostly cloudy. stars visible directly above. fog forming. firecrackers - lightning/thunder.
