07:00, 49F, clear. fog in the pastures. roosters crowing. yellow dogs at back door. pup chased 2 deer - over the fence and through the donkey woodlot. finally heard all the yelling and came back. guardian miffed. sun's almost up. s'posed to get cold this weekend. upper 30's tonight?
10:30, low tide rising at CK. north wind, 5 knts. 61F. cormorants on the oyster bar. herons in the feeder creeks. ducks in the channel.
fed cat, who caught the mouse that darted out from some nets that were being moved. gave tours, plotted march's sites on the map. boxed up trawl for later work. new harness line got cut for it and has to be spliced to the snap shackle that connects to the otter boards that hold the mouth of the trawl open. the old line is pretty worn.
15:40, high tide at #4 bridge, 60F, NW wind, 10 knts. herons and egrets fishing in spartina. a few ducks here and there.
15:00, 62F at back door. chilly north breeze. no eggs today. hay's barely being touched. it's just dry. cows would tuck right into this hay. even has a tad of green in it.
18:50, 57F, a few stars out. house slowly cooling down. should have built a little fire.. tomorrow.
