06:00, 30F, clear. brrr.. pansys drooping. gave outside dogs breakfast. they only get breakfast on cold days. pup out and in. roosters crowing. muffin for breakfast. lamb bottles heating up. the routine of the farm..
08:30, 35F, frost on the pasture. 6-8 buzzards standing in a patch of sun on the lime-rock road with their wings spread out..
09:05, 38F, north wind, 10 knts. wood storks in the swamp, going after the cold, slow fish. low tide falling at CK. ducks all over. cold. church was good. the sermon was on grace.
12:00, 44F, NW wind, 3 knts. fed lab cat. low, low tide at #4 bridge. willets, stilts, sandpipers, and ducks chasing something on the edge of the channel. herons and egrets in the marsh.
14:20, 52F, sunny. sheep in the yard. cherokee roses beginning to bloom. got a wheelbarrow load of oak and pecan for the fireplace.
17:30, 49F, cold. sheep out of yard and dogs out and playing. fire's going, got house temperature up to 62. got 3 eggs. another load of firewood for tonight. lambs fed. 6 deer in donkey woodlot.
20:20, 39F. stars all out. beautiful. waxing half moon up there. cold. reading some t. hillerman. like his navajo mysteries. cat's got my chair. pup's got the couch. someone has to move ...
