06:40. 66F, overcast and foggy. no moon, no sun.. yellow dogs at back door. lamb bottles heating up. roosters crowing.
no gas in truck. no feed in barrel. need to go to cowtown.
08:40, had to stop at crossroads to get enough gas to get to cowtown. overcast. turkey buzzard picking through a neighbor's burn pile.
10:50, 72F, got what I needed, went home and unloaded it all. red-shouldered hawk squabbling with crows over something obscure.
11:30, high tide rising at CK. ducks in the lead. 69F, east wind, 7 knts. got to the last 10 feet of the big seine and found 3 big tears. what did they do? run over the end with the boat? another day's work. osprey nest vacant. lab cat caught a mouse.
about time ...
15:40, high tide falling at #4 bridge. ducks and cormorants. calm. 75F.
16:10, 75F, overcast mostly. warm and muggy. pup and guardian take off into the cactus field. rats.
18:30, 73F, mostly cloudy. fog rolling in. some stars showing. and jupiter.
