05:20, 34F, clear. stars, planets brilliant. venus to east, saturn to west. waxing gibbous moon setting. roosters stirring. dogs out. yellow dogs under house. cold.
07:20, 40's. meeting crew in cow town.
07:30, medium tide at econfina river boat ramp. 40's, NE wind, 7 knts. trawling the grass beds for YOY young-of-the-year life history and diet studies.
got no YOY gags or hogfish or snappers. got some YOY black sea bass. caught a striped burr fish in every trawl. fair amount of pinfish and filefish. 3 scallops. low catches. no stingrays..sunny, bright blue skies. could see the bottom even on our deepest sets, 10 ft. a light chop. water temps 14-15C, 57-59F. chilly. warmed up for an hour at noon. wind switched to west, 5 knts.
big flocks of ducks flying - so many they looked like smoke. rafts of cormorants. brown pelicans, sea gulls going after the pinfish. a beautiful loon.
14:15, 62F, moon-high tide at the boat ramp.
17:30, 58F, waxing gibbous moon in the east. guard dog has swollen glands in her throat. keeping her inside tonight. she did eat the rest of my turkey sandwich. and drink some water.
20:00, 53F. no firewood = no fire. too tired to go to barn for some. moon shining in east windows. early to bed..
