08:40, 59F, chilly north breeze. bruiser out of pen acting normal. go figure.. eveyone's happy. got 1 egg.
10:30, low tide at CK. the usual wading birds. 65F, NE wind, 6 knts. proofed some data and worked on the net. nice in the early afternoon. partly cloudy/sunny. cat sleeps on the net. that will keep the rats away.
15:40, tide coming in at #4 bridge. lots of small shorebirds feeding and flying. wind switched to NW, 8 knts. 66F. left cat a big bowl of food.
two immature bald eagles on a road-kill carcass on 345. one flew off in front of the truck and I had to swerve. all o.k.

17:40, 69F. muted sunset.
18:50, 61F, a haze. waxing 0.55 moon has a ring. stars faint. building a fire in the fireplace. cat's in my chair..

I've got 4 or 5 bald cypress that I planted to honor vaslav havel, a distant relative according to my grandmother. otherwise, unless we have a hell of a lot of rain over several weeks, there are no damp places around the farm except around the spigots and the water troughs. I live in the piney flatwoods where it's traditionally pretty dry
passed a little neighboring farm yesterday that had a sign advertising free roosters.. they'll get you up!

Got a couple new roosters the other day. One for my husband and one for Farmer Brown down the road. I need a wake up call now more than ever since it's so dark outside in the morning.

Any Bald Cypresses on your property? And what ever happened to your neighbor you used to blog with in here that lived next door to you? I don't see her posting anymore.
