06:30, 54F, mostly cloudy. roosters crowing. dogs out. bruiser still in palmettos so moved him to the dog pen with his dad, reddog.. both dogs ate some scrambled eggs. that was gratifying.. dixie hanging out by pen. she and bruiser (her older brother) very close.
08:40, 59F, chilly north breeze. bruiser out of pen acting normal. go figure.. eveyone's happy. got 1 egg.
10:30, low tide at CK. the usual wading birds. 65F, NE wind, 6 knts. proofed some data and worked on the net. nice in the early afternoon. partly cloudy/sunny. cat sleeps on the net. that will keep the rats away.
15:40, tide coming in at #4 bridge. lots of small shorebirds feeding and flying. wind switched to NW, 8 knts. 66F. left cat a big bowl of food.
two immature bald eagles on a road-kill carcass on 345. one flew off in front of the truck and I had to swerve. all o.k.
16:20, 75F at the back door of the farm house. mostly cloudy. north breeze. got 1 egg. bruiser feeling better. ate his dinner. wash was dry.
17:40, 69F. muted sunset.
18:50, 61F, a haze. waxing 0.55 moon has a ring. stars faint. building a fire in the fireplace. cat's in my chair..

I've got 4 or 5 bald cypress that I planted to honor vaslav havel, a distant relative according to my grandmother. otherwise, unless we have a hell of a lot of rain over several weeks, there are no damp places around the farm except around the spigots and the water troughs. I live in the piney flatwoods where it's traditionally pretty dry
passed a little neighboring farm yesterday that had a sign advertising free roosters.. they'll get you up!
