06:05, 55F, foggy. yellow dogs at back door. roosters crowing. pups out playing. apple pie with cheese melted on top for breakfast.. coffee brewing.
08:30, 58F, fog, overcast.
10:50, 55F. low, low tide rising at CK. NE wind, 10 knts. chilly. ducks floating by #4 bridge.
brought pie to lab. mended and stored bait seine. continued work on old 600 ft. seine. boatyard cat good company. pie disappeared during lunch. :o
15:30, high tide at #4 bridge. ducks behind a spartina bank. 58F, NE wind, 10 knts.
16:05, 59F, north breeze, overcast. dogs wondering why day is so short.. GOT 2 EGGS. the araucanas are fully-feathered now. ham and egg for breakfast.. yes.
17:10, 57F, mostly cloudy. waxing crescent moon peeked out from clouds in the SW. no stars. guard dog out with sheep. fire in the fireplace..

Apple pie with cheddar was standard breakfast fare at my grandmother's house. Always warm, always taken in small slices so we could have a second.
