05:30, 52F, clear and calm. waning gibbous moon high in the sky with jupiter. orion faint. yellow dogs at back door. pups out. rooster sleeping. but not for long.
07:30, 60F, scattered fog. a north florida, piney-woods morning.
08:00, low tide going out at CK. a few egrets and herons. sunny, 64F, variable NW wind, 3 knts. boat's loaded, waiting for the tide to change. water is like a mirror.
09:30, NW wind picked up to a light chop. mid-60's. water temperature dropped to 16.5C, 62F. we are now wearing waders. waders give more protection than shorts, tee-shirt and dive booties, but are clumsier and can only be worn in less than chest deep water.
catches are tapering off although we did get some pretty redfish in one set with the 600 ft. seine. pinfish were the most abundant fish. some sun, some overcast. lots of birds around the out islands. pelicans, brown and white, with cormorants, willets, and some other kind of shorebird. gulls.. we had 2 sets on snake key. archie carr wrote about this key. a beautiful island, a very pleasant day.
15:30, high tide at #4 bridge. herons in the spartina.
17:40, 72F at the farm. mostly sunny. watered herb garden. still no eggs. long walk with all the dogs under 10 years old..
