I think you jinxed the Bears and the Packers, jus! Bears got blown out by the Pats(at least NEw has something to cheer for), and the Saints are up three touchdowns right now in New Orleans against the Packers! Oh, well! ;' )

Hi Ylee, Mass, Wab and Sandi!
Warm weather expected here for the weekend, but wish the gray skies would go away so we can paint the shed now that the leaves and greenery is fading. Probably our last shot of the year to do that job...

Sandi, that had to be hysterical seeing the different crazy formations people sent in. No big plans this weekend except for boat weekend and I'll be in hiding late Sunday, lol. I hate boat weekend, pulling it out and towing and all it entails. Plus then it is officially 'over' til next year and who knows what that will bring.
Although...I'll bury a hint here...another wedding is in the future :) a birdie told me last weekend in secret ;) shhhhh (I know they don't read the blog, lol)

Hi Mass! Wow you had quite a time but happy to see you have all that resolved. Glad to hear you have no real damage where you are. It is supposed to be really nice in the next few days here, as well and looking forward to getting last minute preparations done for winter-- pull hoses, plant some more bulbs, mark the driveway for snow blowing, etc...
Terrible about that town near Boston getting flooded. Ick. Just ick. Been there done that and bleach was my best friend! Not in this house with sewage, but when I lived downtown it happened. Just horrible and time consuming to clean up. Hopefully it is not a chronic problem for them.
Nice to see you around the blogs and enjoy the sunshine for sure next week we're sending your way ;)

Ylee, probably just natural like that. We had some strange looking carrots I posted on Aqua's blog back a while ago, too and they were very similar except a little more graphic, lol! Enjoy the last burst of warm weather and hope we all don't go severe when it passes.

Wab, it has been cold.

LOL - your carrots remind me of a TV show from the 70's called "That's Life". Each week, at the end of the show, they would show the misshapen fruit and veg that had been sent into the show... yes, physically sent in as it was before the computer age of emails or digital photos! There were some strange .... and sometime rude ... shapes sent in!! Vegs, especially carrots and parsnips, can grow to grotesque shapes!

Have a happy, and safe, weekend, Jus:)

Hi (((Jus)))!!!

Saw your post on NEw's blog and I'm delighted to be back on the WU blogs again after such a frustratingly lengthy absence. This new laptop of mine seems to be working out quite well after working out some initial windows updates issues with MS tech support. I had a miserable time in May (with the first one returned) and then June (second one returned) due to serious glitches in each. It took me months before attempting to purchase another one, but I'm glad I finally made the plunge. LOL!

Currently, our nasty Nor'Easter has reached a lull in gusty winds and heavy rains. Luckily, there were no reported power outages, downed trees or large branches reported in our particular city, but others living in around Boston and the eastern MA seacoast weren't so lucky. High tides mixed with heavy rain and strong wind gusts did a number in some communities One Boston coastal city not only had a problem with serious street flooding but with raw sewerage and industrial waste seeping and mixing in. Disgusting! Amazingly, a Boston news station, showed how people were allowed to drive through it all. YUK! Bring on the hazmet suits and vehicles!

Hope you and yours have been doing well and are enjoying better weather and a colorful Fall season. It's getting rather nippy at times around our way, too. I'm looking forward to a sunny, drier, 70ish degree reprieve expected next week. You can be certain that hubby and I will be taking full advantage of those particularly warm days!!!

Hi all! I waz in Milwaukee hey! We actually made it to the Downtown German area for October fun with buddies of hubbies from College dayz...Then I hijacked my hubby to a Sout Milwaukee (actually Cudahy) tavern for the Packer's game Sunday! It was a blast!
Lovely weather. Didn't even need a coat.
Absolutely beautiful day today as well.

Dau's beau is back from abroad and safe. Whoot whoot! We thank him for his service and thank God for his safe return! We all had a wonderful huge family impromptu breakfast Saturday morning and it couldn't have been a more perfect way to say Welcome Home Soldier!

NEW!!!!! If you stop in! I hope it is NOT your last day today! I will miss you and all of our fun through the years. I just logged on so need to check out your blog-- but I hope you will be around because you just CAN'T disappear! Although, I know it is hard pressed for time, etc...I do so hope you will stick around! Well, in any case, you are a really awesome blog friend and I will never forget you :)

Aqua, oy...let's hope those gales o November don't come early, hey! yikes! I won't be able to watch that action or I'd get ill in IL lolol...
Btw!!! I cracked up laughing when I saw this tonight and figured it was just made for you and I and WU funky carrot peeps, haha!
img src=" photo carrot_zpscc977144.jpg">

Sandi - Hello! Yes, 32 million! I guess I'll have to play the lottery a bit more often! Dau has a few friends who live downtown on the waterfront in those penthouses. They get such beautiful views of the weather coming in off the lake and of the airshow, lakefront fireworks, sailboats, etc...I've been up in the Signature Room Restaurant when the winds were like 65 mph! The whole building sways and sways...It's not fun--for me anyway! I certainly wouldn't want to test the building against a tornado! Yikes!
We are loving watching so many travel shows lately, like you! I do hope the world stays safe enough for us to enjoy travel to the great places and meet the people we'd love to meet across this big world someday.
Oh, by the way, something you can probably relate to: I've been taking photos of photos, lol. I took a lot of photos of other artists photography and how it was framed in Milwaukee interiors I was in (hotels, restaurants, etc...) Planning to try to frame up some of my photography from years past. I can't seem to produce new items lately or bring myself to release my artistic nature lately and shoot anything really seriously. I suppose one would just call it a photo-block? Like writer's block?? Okay....no-- well ramble ramble...lol no writer's block here hahahaha! Maybe the photo-block isn't far behind, haha.
Anyhooo... hope you are well and thanks for stopping in :)

Hello Oz! I do hope you do NOT have any fires there! Even dau in Colorado has early snow, too! So, me thinks the precipitation schedule is a bit early again this year due to how cold it was last year. Hope your puppies are well. We have had a hard time with Boomer. I may WU mail you due to some interesting developments and spare the rest of the blog, haha! dog schtuff...haha!

Leaves are still peak. Backdrop clouds still neon, dark blue scattered stormy and backlit with white fluff whisps and the oranges and reds are magnificent in the sun rays! It has been quite a mundanely beautiful Fall :) Night all ships.

Hi Jus,

I thought of you on Friday evening. I was watching a programme on TV called mega structures this episode was all about the Trump Tower in Chicago. It showed how it had been built to withstand tornadoes. It also showed the penthouse view .... Apparently the highest, personally owned view in America .....cost to own it? Oh, a mere 32 million!!

Hope you are well, and safe :-)

Hi Jus, Sydney's Blue Mountains got snow this week which is ridiculous as just 12 months ago that area lost 200 houses to bushfire at this time! We are being warned about bushfire potential for this weekend, too early in the season for my liking! Hope you and yours are all fine!!

Yes, BF. I thought the start of the warnings with Southern Illinois area was on track...but when I saw our temps (and dew points) heading into 65 area and checked Central IL, then saw the MCD's ugh! it got bad there. I think there were two unconfirmed tornadoes. Not a lot of pics on Twitter from IL, but I saw a lot tweeted to Spann down South and the damage was coming in fast...

On the other subject...no Joke...not kidding. Even leaving out some further details I keep remembering she told me...Yes, the doctor also said if they can't take him, then you don't want to work there (so apparently if you arent strong enough to be bullied, then go away) Talk about a hostile work environment...you get harassed IN THE INTERVIEW! How I would just love to go in there with a

What the... ? Tornado watches and tornado reports further north than what I might have guessed from this morning's outlook. Gadzooks. I read what you said about the potential employer. Sounds like a joke, really, and the nurse had a line about the other gal quitting... I'd have laughed, right there in the interview. Sheesh. Really, I'd've laughed and asked if I'd get a bonus for rushing all the patients through. Probably better the boss is upfront about his meanness. At least FDIL has her interview outfit together!

Have a good eve.

What a busy storm outbreak in the last 2 days here in the States. Let's hope tomorrow doesn't prove to be worse for this line as it continues East!
Here's a storm report from today near where I used to live a long time ago in Decatur, IL Macon County -
Filtered Tornado Reports (CSV) (Raw Tornado CSV)(?)
Time Location County State Lat Lon Comments
2115 LONG CREEK MACON IL 3980 8885 TORNADO ON THE GROUND WITH VISIBLE DEBRIS JUST WEST OF LONG CREEK NEAR US-36. (ILX)

I'll try to find some pix if possible...more reports will filter in, I'm sure and I'll try to get back to post. Take care East! And Ylee...tonight in KY... yikes.

Hi Sandi (below severe posts, #59). Sorry, I didn't get back to you before this.
-- All is well. One of the interviews was great and there will be a second --yay!
But the other was just awful for my Future Dil. The owner of the business practice (a chiropractic/medical office) apparently turned out to be a completely arrogant, rude, egotistical, maniacal, Dr. Frankenstein. He basically came into the office and stated to my dil that he makes all his employees cry. Yes, this is basically how he introduced himself. Also, his conversation went on to describe how demanding he was and how he doesn't really give a crap about his employees -- just himself, money, and turning over patients as fast as he can. (I am NOT making this up) He then asked another nurse who was passing by -- 'don't I make you cry at least once a week? and she said "yes, that's why the other gal quit this morning" she told my DIL ...
We looked at the reviews posted online on their organization. Almost every one of them say he is a 'quack' abrasive, terrible, and an enourmous a&^% . So many negative reviews, I couldn't believe he still has a license. We don't know how he even stays in business.
I felt very, very bad for my dil who was very excited about getting a call and an interview in her field (Medical Nursing Assistant). She dressed very nicely and prepared well. We double checked her outfit with me in anticipation, lol, just because we were thorough and happy, etc... She's articulate and smart.

But, she's very strong and just said 'oh well' I wouldn't work for that guy anyway. Makes one wonder how sick he is to brag about his nastiness. What ever...

Thanks for listening Sandi, lol Hope all is well across the pond :)

Hi, Ylee, it's never too early for Hawks or Bulls!
All's okay...up and down with life...I need a bigger umbrella, and not from the rain, lol.

It's a gorgeous day though. Colors really starting to pop. Hopefully, we'll be able to take a trip but may have to head out South for a color tour because the leaves up North are already in full swing and it will be at least a week before we can go anywhere :)
Yewts got important interviews for jobs today (even though they so desperately would like to go to Colorado, but they need to have their ducks in a row) hope is up for new beginnings after the last fiasco.

Fingers crossed for another travelin O&G due in safe and sound any time now :) Let's hope the weather behaves (not here, looks like we'll stay out of the mix, but other states may have a mess on their hands I see). Anyhoooooo...tootles! Heads up! Moving forward full steam ahead!

Yo (yo, yoyo, lol) I came to check on YOU WU peeps down yonder BF and GG! I just saw Reed post a pic on FB near Bartlesville. Looks like you are all in the mix. Stay safe! I'll come by and check on you shortly.

Hi Ylee, thank you for the wishes for October. It sounds like weather will be interesting for the first half. You have a great month too.

Hi Sandi (from previous post as well!) You and I are both super busy lately and I just don't seem to have the energy for more than a Facebook post here and there and most of those are just re-posts, lol. Hope you have a great month, too!

Hi Oz, is it puppies yet? Or maybe I missed the news being gone so long.

I'll pop in if things begin to go severe here tomorrow. Looks like some healthy rain. We do need that!

Hello, I haven't been by for a week or two, just been incredibly busy. I sometimes wonder how on earth I even found time to go to work!!

Sorry you have been ill, but glad to hear that you are on the mend!
Your family does sound to be busy bees... I don;t know how you keep track of them all!

I have just started a new on-line course, on the History of Hadrian's Wall... so might not be around for a few more weeks! I promise to be back before Thanksgiving! Take care:)

Hi all! Nice day here today. Not too cold, not too hot. Getting a bit chilly tonight though. But it's all good.

Yewts are still sick, but I'm a bit better.
Thanks for the wish, BF! I NEEEEED to stop by your blog and catch up. I'm sooooo behind but I hope you are doing well there in OK.

Dau (WG) has completed her migration to Colorado, lol. She lucked out on a great find of a Suburu Legacy Outback Station Wagon AWD 1999 for $750.00! It had just a little rust on it, needed brakes, needed a weld to the muffler, but it had passed emissions and every thing! She did the rust work herself, bondo, sanded, painted to match. Our mechanic (God Bless my Mechanic) did the brakes and found a tie rod issue and fixed that, too. I think all in all she put less than an additional $350 into the car :) Whoot Whoot! Her Dad went with her to drive it to Breckenridge and it made it with absolutely NO issues! He flew back today. We are definitely going to miss her. Especially her Dad because they are still grieving the loss of their other daughter and struggling so. Dau was a Godsend this summer and I am just so proud of my gang. Grace under pressure.

The restaurant Son#2 and fdil helped open and were so excited about ended in disaster and a family feud, so they are no longer working there. Se est la vie! Good riddins. Hope they make it, but it is not even a care of mine or my side of the family any longer. Too bad they made the yewts a ton of promises and yanked the chain... After all that's happened this year, those kids just didn't need that exercise in futility. I hope they go back to Colorado. They are also talking about school again which is good. tbc... yada yada :) Again, very proud.
Dau 1 is great and waiting patiently for her beau to return safely. Son #1 got his own Walgreen's store now as a Manager :) That was great news! It is a beautiful newer store in a lovely suburb close to where I work so I can visit.

Boat is still in the water and we went out yesterday. We'll pull it out probably late October this year.

My car is awesome still :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Gas mileage is awesome. Now we'll just see how it does in the snow.
Dau #3 is doing well in OKC, back to school and teaching away. They will come in for Christmas. We may all take an early trip to Florida though to see Mom...
So that's basically the cliff notes from the 'edge, lol...Hope you all stay healthy and don't catch this bug traveling the country! Stay tuned and maybe someday I'll unload in a late night rant...it's been never a dull moment here, let's just say Palins got nothin on my 'other' side of the fam...just crazy! Yes sir ree Bob! We, of course, would never be involved and know better to just not look back. Always forward, never lateral, never backward :)

Ozgalah! Hello. This is soooo funny because I was thinking of you all day. My best friend's son brought home a Brittany Spaniel. I saw her today and she looks so much like Geddy as a puppy. However, I know Geddy and yours are Welsh Springer Spaniels. The face is a bit more narrow on her (Meadow). It was a blast to play with her today.
Good luck with your new litter and I hope Geddy is still winning away! Boomer hasn't really done much this summer except ride along with my husband on the bike. He just loves it. He has a bad tooth I need to get checked out and he has a growth I need to also get checked. Otherwise, he is absolutely gorgeous and has turned into a really sweet huge guy. Very similar to a Mastif disposition or a Newfie. If the yewts go back to Colorado, I'll go back to conformation classes with him and hit the Winter shows possibly? We'll see.
Can't wait to see pics of the new arrivals! Take Care!
My friend's new 9 week old addition to her family, Meadow, Brittany Spaniel (really her son and grand-daughter's dog) too cute!

Take care all ships!

Hi Jus I haven't been around for a while sorry to see you have been unwell hope you feel much better now! Swine flu is doing the rounds again here, I had it way back at the beginning and my Dr thinks I had it again last year while we were away so hope I don't get it again!! How's Boomer doing? Geddy and Clancy are growing and the puppies are due next week so will be busy again for a few weeks. We are having prospective puppy buyers coming to check out the kennels and the dogs so lots of talking and baking being done!!!!

Hi all, it was hard to sleep so my days and nights are messed up.
Ylee, haha are you suggesting I'm older with a weakened immune system, lol! Me thinks you should consider a flu shot. I think it actually helped me fight this one off. I now get one every year.
We don't really know what the heck hit us. Dau works at a huge company and many in her department were I'll first. We (all my daughters and I) were rather able to be together a lot a few weeks ago and shopped, etc a lot and blammo.
Thanks for stopping!

Hi Wab, wow march seems early but what they (the proverbial, all knowledgeable 'they') say is it shortens the length and severity of many bugs. I tend to agree now because I thought I was going to get it in my chest and it just is fading away now. (Fingers crossed).
Hmmm sounds like the 1957 flu should be one for the records like this '68 bug. Glad you survived.
Gorgeous day here! Sooo perfect it's hard to put into words, weather wise.

Hiya New, we'll try to contain this thing. Just keep the hand sanitizer handy, lol.
I've had to turn the heat on a few days ago 😔 waaayyy to early. With a fever, it felt good to get fresh air though. Crisp and dry today and just gorgeous.

Bit of an update: Well dau's soldier is ok. Phew. My heart skipped a few beats in the past few days with all the latest in Afghanistan etc... (I am in awe of military wives and mothers past!) with all the latest in Afghanistan etc... Dau, his mother and I hang on...and have faith and confidence.
Our prayers have been with them and especially need to go up for those US troops killed yesterday. Behind the scenes, soldiers and families are grieving the fallen (--can't find a word, fallen? fellow soldiers? a friend comrade? brother?--) and I express my grief and feel for them.

Stay safe all where ever you may be.

Glad you're feeling better! I don't take flu shots, either; maybe when I'm older, and my autoimmunity is lower, perhaps!

wife got her flu shot last year the middle of October then caught the flu the middle of March .. Dr told her the effect of the shot had worn off so not sure a early flu shot is the best thing .. I didn't get one and didn't get the flu but then seldom do .. have only had it 3 times I can remember ..

worst was the flu in 1957 that I had . . that one almost killed me !!

Jus, you think you might have picked up the Enterovirus 68 that is suppose to be going around nt sure what the symptoms are with it but have seen the news where it has spread to 12 or more states now .. think it effects the breathing of the infected ..

Hope your feeling much better .. this cooler weather probably not helping you any ..

Ugh...four days of fever and I cannot get it to go away. One more day and I'll go in. I have thrown a ton of natural remedies at this, plus both advil, and tylenol based remidies (this has gone through my entire home in one way or another) Found the strength to bleach and clean the first floor and disinfect much of the second. Bedclothes, Sheets, etc... tomorrow which is timely as we all recover.

Ylee, Thank you for checking in. I am very happy for the cool weather. I did go out and grab my tomatoes in the open garden, but left those closer to the house. And, I grabbed some basil which can be easily damaged. Probably the last of that. Cabbage and broccoli will be fine, but any beans left may be too late or just be shell beans anyway.

Prayers up for all our troops, victims of Odile, floods in India, and anywhere that needs prayers -- Night all ships in port or at sea or where ever you may be...
