It's been one of the worst winters I can remember in my lifetime here in Northern Illinois, and it is far from over. We may not have set many records, however the endurance factor of day after day of deep cold temperatures, followed by endless snow or winds...well it is definitely up there as 'worst' in my record book.

Moving on though through the season, Winter wildlife has recently started moving around daily and is abundant here in the back woods. Daylight hours are longer, sun seems to make a dent in the bitter cold a lot faster, and we know Spring is out there somewhere!!
This Jay seems to be searching high -- and low :)

(Put a little old style tone to this collage below and replaced the duplicate birds. Gotta love all the new tools in Instagram, Picmonkey, Paintshop Pro, etc...I actually have been shooting these animal shots from inside the house and have had to edit them, which is why I haven't posted many on WUphotos...ramble ramble...and that's how I wound the watch...lolol. Carry on!)

Happy Valentines Day to one and all and here's hoping we end the month a bit more 'warm and snuggly' than this arctic 'cold shoulder'! Have a good February!
