I have just noticed it this morning. It may be good on a computer or laptop, but on a IPad it 'floats' and follows you up and down the page! Could get annoying!
Hi Jus - chilly out there this morning! (Cars are covered in a thick layer of ice! Told C he should allow extra to get the car warm and defrosted, or he will miss his train.
Still working on end of the month closings (uhm...delay after delay and pulling my hair out) Went to a Christmas party last night for a company. They had a great band and we even danced.
Hard to get moving today for work though. Can't party like I used to, lol.
Don't even need a coat here during the daytime Sandi. It's been so mild. Mornings are about the same as there though and could require scraping or warming up the vehicles.
Hate to say this, but we need rain. Jinx! Ok off to babysit well tests (sheesh).
In reply to the comment you left on my blog,my birthday was on Wednesday not a couple of weeks ago.Although celebrating all month sounds good, but only my wife can do that,I get to celebrate on Thanksgiving.
Before anyone starts with the Turkey jokes,I've heard them all before.
Jus - wishing you a very happy, healthy and warm month.
Wishing you and yours a happy and safe December.
“How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”
Dr. Seuss quotes
:)
jus,
Well tests? If something is well, why does it need tests? Is it getting a degree? "Leave well enough alone" and all that Gobble de goop. Oops. Maybe it's too late for Turkey Talk.
Have a good one.
:)
An IPad has a touch screen, which means it is very fluid. By opening your fingers on the screen you can enlarge what you are looking at. The Community Activity should be at the bottom of the page, as it is on a laptop, or desk top computer, but on the tablet it has a habit of floating to the top of the screen, as each new comment is posted. I suppose it is because it is 'live'. BUT I have found it has a pause button, so I guess I will have it paused ... Permanently!! Lol
Pros, love the Dr. Seuss, sooooo perfect. Thank you for the December wishes.
Sandi, we are sure warm here, today is expected to be in the 60's! Un-heard of except for last year.
BF, just what I need, WELL jokes, lol! Hello, Let's hope you DON'T hear from me this next week. That will mean I am busy at closings which should have happened last week, ugh. It's Sunday morning and my anxiety level is already starting to ramp up.
I am going to add a nice article I saw earlier about the coast guard here on Lake Michigan delivering Christmas trees in Chicago...but I lost the link) brb and again Thanks for stopping. I'll mostly be in lurk mode for a while with all the goings on. Happy December All!

Then later today, we expect a chance of thunderstorms. (Wait--is this December???)
Off to the grind. Thanks for stopping and, if possible, have a good Monday.

Look at this line coming together. It may be sort of 200 miles long, no? But, doesn't seem to be quite enough energy to make it a derecho.
"Special report on WGN News at 9PM Monday night: Lake Michigan's approaching its all time record low--it's just inches away! It already touched the record Nov low briefly. Lake level records go back 94 years to 1918--so this is quite a rare state of affairs and its effects are being felt up and down Lake Michigan."

{The link is not live yet to the report.} I'll follow up in the morning when they link it.
We did have some rain. Not much. I have photos of our cottage from the 1920'S when the beach extended out into the Bay (Door County). It is basically almost there, but a little different in the erosion factors.
I would have to say, this is incredibly close to what I have heard about as far as drought from our elders.
Night all ships. Be safe in port, or at sea, or where ever you may be.
Trains are going to bed :)
The posted the video on Lake Michigan (hope this works ).

In fact this weekend there is going to be a dividing line for cold and warm.your going to be on the cold side,I'm going to be on the warm side.
Ok back to R.E. hedoubletoothpicks...
Looks like snow will really be headed into Chicago Sunday/Monday. Just short of our record of the 16th for no snow.
Not weather related, but -- Today I have a huge task. My seller has pnemonia and we urgently need to cap off an old chandelier outlet (caps are on the ends of the wires, just needs the plate) Problem is, it is up in a huge two story foyer in the middle of the ceiling. It is not near the wall for a regular tall ladder, or near the landing. I have no idea how Im going to do this but it HAS to be done today for an FHA re-inspection for loan approval. Probably scaffold. Will get pics if I get up there, lol.
Wish me luck! Have a good Wednesday all.
Good luck!
I am determined to get the young couple who are buying it, in by Christmas!
We didn't need an electrician because the wires were already capped. They may want a new chandelier or a new ceiling fan or ? We just had to cap it off with a plate. Everyone I called was going to take like a week and $300 bucks! So...FINE...I'll do it myself!
The whole thing was time and like $27 bucks for the rental. I bought my son lunch. And he is also trying to get out to Colorado (Ever since he took his sister out there a few weeks ago he has the bug, too. Runs in the family) I will be helping him with that a little bit in payback. He's in pursuit of the dream and quite as determined to get there as his Mom is to get things done :)
Your son isn't the only one with the Colorado bug; been looking at vacation rentals in the Colorado Springs area for our 15th anniversary this summer! Presently in wishing mode right now; hafta work mega OT this spring to pull it off! We shall see!
He said when he was out there, he got up at like 6 am raring to go and just loved it! I said ok. If that's where you want to be, and that's what makes ya get up in the morning, go for it! (long story)
Happy Thursday :)
Hello Sandi, Ozgalah and NEw. Thanks for the bravos on that job. Today, the thought of that height is giving me chills, lol.
(Ozgalah, I am sorry to have read you lost a friend. How very sad.)
Have to run...Wing night :) Hope to get back later tonight.
Looks like the record of days in between snows could be in jeopardy after all...we may be on the warm side of the precip on Monday! Hmmmm. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
I do also feel we should be broadcasting conservation of Lake Michigan water NOW...this is not good.
Put up my christmas tree tonight. So house decorating is getting finished this weekend.
Whooole lot O'shakin going on. I just don't think I'd be comfortable anywhere in the low shorelands of Japan...jus sayin. They've got to be quite petrified. And most of the quakes coming over the alerts have been quite large, even in New Zealand area/Mexico...hmmmmm.
Glad this week is in the can. Hope everyone has a great weekend and maybe I'll get around to putting up a Christmas tree? LOL...maybe just a Christmas blog. We'll see. Ho Ho HO! Off we go!
Rain will develop this evening and is then expected to change to
snow after midnight as colder air begins to filter into the area.
At first... temperatures near and just above the ground will be too
warm for any snow to accumulate... but as snow continues and
temperatures fall to near or just below freezing snow could begin
to accumulate. Slushy accumulations of up to an inch are possible
by Saturday morning... particularly on grassy and elevated
surfaces.
Persons planning travel overnight into early Saturday morning
should be prepared to encounter reduced visibilities and possibly
slippery roadways.
Good luck on the tree! :)
Sneaux!!!!!
57 degrees here at the moment...
Stopped in to see if you have the latest EQ forecast for the eastern edge of the Pacific plate. (Tongue in cheek.) Alas and alack. lol
Wow. Impressive job. Good for you. And your son. And the other realtor. If they celebrate Christmas, the new owners sure could have a tall Christmas tree in their new home. If not, a year-round Ficus / Norfolk Pine could grow to giant proportions there. Or both. Decorate the Ficus / Norfolk Pine for Christmas.
:)
Have a great rest of the weekend!
Have fun, and we want pictures! lol
Wab, I didn't measure or look, either so not sure how much fell. No snow yet though. Temps look like they could drop and give us just a little accumulating snow early in the AM.
OZ, your Dau got hit rather hard! Hope they are all dug out before the work week. Hope you can keep those boys at bay, LOL. Sounds like you have your hands full ;)
Boomer and Molly have been in and out, and there is so much going on, I haven't been able to see straight!
We did put up our decorations and tree. Hoping to get a new blog up late tonight, Sandi. But, it won't be too Grand...I don't really have any kitty or doggy pics in front of the tree. Oh well...
Sandi, it appeared you have another nasty low headed your way :( from your map on your site. Hunker down once again. Wow you've had too much there!
BF, EQ forecast, lol. It's been quite a bumpy couple of days for many parts of the world. Poor Phillippines! and Japan, etc...
Thanks for the comments on the 'project'. It was an extreme measure taken because the lenders take so long with opening their vaults, the moths are flying around at our closings! If we don't give them ANY reason to deny a loan--we may, MAY get lucky and actually get it done. You have nooooo idea. (glad I'm starting a new blog...maybe that will be a good fresh state of mind) ooops rant rant! Anyhoooo you BF, I hope you are happy, healthy, having all kinds of merriness and joy whopping it up!
Ylee, 57 could have possibly put you in the severe? Maybe? I haven't had time to look, but hoping none of the tornado alerts passing on my text screen were for your parts. I think you are gone til Thurs? Hope you have a great week and get tons done before Christmas.
Ok all...off to edit some pics and figure out a new blog. It may be KISS, muah! Just the facts, maaam, jus the facts...and this is my tree...it has lots of lights, and these are my stairs, they twinkle at night...lol hmmmm I think I'll run w/it hey!
:)
