Very worried for my East Coast Family and Friends. Very glad Del Ray and Florida friends are somewhat out of harms way. We have probably over 100 relatives and friends out along the East Coast yet to experience this storm. I do worry a lot about our relatives in the Poconos/NJ/PA higher elevations, and the flash flooding, etc...as well as those on Long Island probably the most.

Prayers up and candles lit! Probably won't post much with all eyes out East. Have a great weekend.

10/24/12 - Seems like it has been wait and see this week. At the moment, waiting on this front to come through and drop our strange warm temps over 20 degrees from 71 to 48 degrees!
And waiting on the track of Sandy. How strong? Where? And what other features will really be in play? Wow, lots of waiting and watching tonight!
Stay safe all ships at sea, and in port or where ever you may be!

10/15/12 - Have a good week.
10/09/12 - Storms coming in this weekend so I thought I'd start with a clean blog.
Stay safe everyone.
Will be quite busy with work, so feel free to add any severe information you would like to make people aware of.

Happy Halloween!

Hi Rob again, Ylee, I gotcha yer Go Gos! How could I have forgotton?
So this day was YEWT day. It began with a WG car issue. Dead battery cause her brother (21 yrs old) with an apartment which everyone is not hanging out at and it is like the new party central (uhm yeah),,, well anyhoo he took her car and left the key turned and the battery died. But the dudes upstairs tried to see if it was her alternator, and also like took that off and then they said it may be her fuel injectors and I hung out doing dishes until I just SAID THAT'S ENOUGH!!! Let's go buy a new battery. Ok well that worked. And then, because the guys worked on her car all day, I invited them all over here for dinner to see that we are a nice normal family. (and to quit partying with my son) and just like come eat and see this is good peeps. Do you understand? I made 3 slabs of ribs for them all and mashed potatoes and corn and corn bread. We had a very, very nice time.
Ever since my son's friend died in that accident about 3/4 weeks ago, he's been kind of floundering and partying too much. (he was 21 in june) I'm watchin.
So anyhooo the dinner with the friends was great and we also then went out to play pool. WG, me Son #2, GF and the 2 guys who live upstairs. We had a lot of fun. So it was basically a yewt day.

NEw!!!! too funny. Yes, never, never, never, give up!!! Accckkkk poo pooooo on the Nor'Easter blech don't stall!! (Jus screams and pounds fist!!!) Dang it! I'm watchin... crudolah. Thanks for stopping by though ;) Acckkkk you also mentioned the four letter 'S' word!!!

Sandi! Hi you. I do hope you can use those new walking shoes very soon! It's probably universal about the shoe sale thing...I cannot pass one up and, when someone who works as hard as my dau, needs things (she lives on a shoe string) I absolutely cannot pass it by! Do you know for a fact I ordered that bread pudding for you and Pros! As if you two were with me. Too funny the thought processes in our heads! But true story and hubby really liked it, too. I just stepped out of the box and ordered bread pudding, lol!

Shore!!!!! Can't wait to read your stories from the road :) I'll be by your blog to travel this latest adventure w you. Thanks for the help with vids, lol!

This got quite long, but it did contain weather :)

I bet the shoes were cheaper than the dinner! :) I have this involuntary cringe when my wife finds shoes ON SALE at the local shoe store, and announces she got them for $50!

ERK!

What, no Go-Gos last night? :)

ROFLMAO,at your attempts to post songs.Keep trying, don't give up,don't let youtube beat you down.
Looks to be a pretty strong nor'easter and slowing down also,so heavy rains, strong damamging winds and maybe even some heavy wet snow thrown into it,all I can do is sigh and shrug my shoulders.

Oh I forgot to tell you that I found a shoe sale yesterday and bought 5 pairs of shoes for my daughter (lovely work heels) for $74.00

Wow, that's a bargain - you definitely couldn't pass it up!,

That reminds me - I have some MBT walking shoes, with laces. Hopefully I will be able to bend to tie them soon, so I can get out walking! Lol

Your dinner sounded wonderful, especially the pudding!! :-)

Hi Sandi, we had a very very special dinner out last night. Veal Parm for me and hubby had the seafood pasta--mussels, shrimp, sea scallops, lobster. We shared a nice bottle of Malbec from Patagonia, Argentina, then shared spiced bread pudding with ice cream and a swirl of caramel so beautifully presented on the plate. A jazz trio was in from Chicago for the entertainment. And, all this was right here in FOX LAKE! We've been to this restaurant before and like it a lot but it just keeps improving.

Oh I forgot to tell you that I found a shoe sale yesterday and bought 5 pairs of shoes for my daughter (lovely work heels) for $74.00! Her shoe size is great for sales and I didn't see anything for me. I couldn't pass them by and she really needed them!

Thank you for asking, lol ramble ramble...now I'm hungry again. Slow cooking bbq ribs for the grill later. Hope you are having a nice Saturday there Sandi :)

Well, I am trying to post a song. And, for whatever reason, I have no old embed code from youtube. So, I'm just going to tell you what the song was.

It was supposed to be: Get Down On It (kool and the gang)

Sorry. I may try again with another song though.

Hiya NEw, so busy. Another happy family moved!!! Yay. End of November I have two more including a young couple who got a great house for a starter. So cute!

Anyhoo, I also had Boomer's first training lesson today. The guy trained ME! lol He was very good and I have a lot of homework before next week's lesson. Boomer was just fantastic! Such a sweet boy and listened and was so attentive. He was beautiful!

Meatloaf and Molly are doing fine. I can't wait until Meatloaf's cone is off and we see how his eye is. One more week.

As to the Nor 'Easter - I'm just sick about that. One hit after another...it's too much. Just when they get the power restored with temp lines, they'll be starting all over maybe? Let's hope this one is a busted forecast! Prayers up.

Hope you have a great weekend and finish the last of your renovation projects. Now that I've finally got a pay check, we can resume some of ours :) whoo hooooo. Take care all ships!

A special hello to Mass!!!! So happy to see your smiley graphics adorn my page! (along with all the cast of characters who I love to have visits from!) Very happy you were ok during the storm albeit having a disruption to power. Hope your hubby's father is doing ok ;( Boy you have your hands full. But, as bad as it is down in NY, NJ etc...I am very glad this storm spared you and your family.

Thanks for the visit and hope we can catch up soon!

Hi all! Wow! Thanks for all the Halloween wishes and White Wabits November wishes!

Family out East not really talking much about how they are doing, but many are still without power and making it through. One cousin tried to commute to work yesterday (drive) and she just said it was madness, insanity!

I've been quiet here on WU but checking facebook a lot to check in on relatives.
Weather here is cold but quiet so far with snow way far North. Looks really dry the next 10 days (?)

Ok off to the office, if it's quiet, maybe I'll check in on everyone.

Hope everyone had a nice halloween,we had a lot of kids come around,it was a warm night,so perfect for all the little ones to get out with their costumes.
Some local towns had to cancel do to power lines and down trees, but most areas had trick or treating.
We're staying unsettled through tomorrow,as what is left of Sandy continues spin in New York slowly moving up into Canada.

Good Evening, JUS!

By the look of things, you must be as busy with work and absorbed in this recent weather catastrophe as I have. Nevertheless, I wanted to say hello, wish you a HAPPY HALLOWEEN, anyway, and state that my hubby and I made it through this second year in a row pre-Halloween storm A-Okay. We experienced only a 9 hr power outage this time but were well prepared with plenty of emergency supplies, food and received no damage to home/property or from flooding. WHEW! SO GRATEFUL!

I certainly hope that any/all of your affected relatives are found safe, accounted for and received none to only minor damage at best. This is another one for the terrible record books and will take much time for those living in many affected areas to fully recover. Prayers to all the victims (60 thus far) as well!

On an uplifting note, thought I'd leave some of the traditionally fun-filled Halloween music and graphics of yester-year to help our better spirits along. Hope you can enjoy them!

Hi Jus,

Glad the other Sandi didn't make it as far as you, with any violence.
That video you did of the lake shows how strong the wind had been. I remember driving alongside Loch Lomand in Scotland during a storm force wind event. An inland lake, with no wave action, was as stormy as any North Sea coast during a storm.... Fascinating!

Hope you are OK, and not too busy..... Silly thought, you are always busy!

Happy Halloween!

Hi NEw, all the relatives seem to now be accounted for except 1 or 2 and they don't normally post all the time on FB, so it wouldn't be their first thought...I checked their towns and they should be fine. Some don't have power though, but will still be sleeping at home tonight, ugh. It's going to be sooo cold!
Sorry about your tree! Lucky though it didn't fall on the car or your house.

Went to Lake Michigan after work today (I work half way there anyway) It was incredible! The waves were just awesome. There were a lot of people there with the same idea, as well. We all went, just to look. (This State Park is safe to do that) There were a steady stream of cars and onlookers.

The waves and winds got even worse after I left. Up in Kenosha about 10 minutes North. 60 mph winds and 22 ft. waves. They shut many places down in anticipation of historic flooding. Approx. 250 homes were evacuated in Pleasant Prairie, WI along the Lakeshore.
Lake Shore Dr. in Chicago had many restrictions and the Lake Shore path was closed, plus the surfers were told they could not surf in their regular spots, (but they found a way anyway ;)

Ok Well, the photos are on the WU photo section (at right) and here's my (very short bad vid)

Prayers up for all those who have no power or heat tonight. Thinking of you. And, here's to the WU people who need some rest after the great job covering the storm. You all did a fantastic job!

GM,Jus,hope your family and friends are ok,they really took a beating down there. We did too up here, not as bad,but lots of damage from downed trees and power loss.
I faired pretty well, but a tree came down and just missed my house by about 6 inches,so lucky in that respect. Our coastal community had a lot of flooding, but nothing compared to New york and New Jersey and Conn.
This will be storm that will go down in history, and we are still feeling the effects with heavy snow in West Virginia, rain still falling as far as Indiana and effects reaching you.We are getting tropical downpours as we are on the warm side of this circulation

GM - Thanks for stopping in late last night with your thoughts and well wishes.

We have heard from 7 of those in NYC scattered about. 2 have power! All are alive and safe. Wow. My cousin in Lindenhurst, where there were many fires, is okay.

One in PA hasn't checked in, and 2 in MD haven't checked in. Come to think of it, I haven't heard from the one in Delaware. 2 in Bethlehem, PA which should be fine.

This was posted on another cousin's fb page

Were you the WG of your generation, jus? You sure have a lot a relatives in the NE!

The trials and tribulations suffered by the folks up there are countless; by Thanksgiving, however, most folks' lives will be back to normal, and by Christmas, everyone that didn't lose a house or a loved one to the storm will be celebrating as always.

Watching all this frome the sidelines has to be hard; can't offer a helping hand(outside of money) to someone living 1000 miles away!

I don't have any relatives that live up there, but Pros, NEw, Mass, and Goofyrider(and others) live there, so I pray for their safety, and the safety of their families!

So I pray.

Take care, jus, and have faith. Everything will be alright!

Well, all the news hasn't come in yet from relatives and friends and what the dawn will bring is going to be-- well not a nightmare-- but ??? who knows? Can't find the words.

I know Lindenhurst was hit badly and there were fires. I am very concerned about a cousin there. Astoria, Long Island It was brutal, and still is ongoing.

Not sure why I picked this...will be up lurking if anyone wants to post something better for a tune. Just reminds me of New York. Well, that's where my family took the brunt. So far, my Maryland and VA relatives are ok. It's the New York ones (0h and now PA and ME ones I'm worried about) suppose that'd be worry enough for the whole eastern seaboard, dang... ouch oh yeah the tune...

Hello, it's hard to post and keep up and actually it's just so unbelievable anyway. It's so hard to watch these posts from my relatives on Facebook from New York there and not really wanting to ask what is really going on!
Most of my relatives on Long Island and in Astoria or Manhattan are now without power and getting flooded very badly.

I can't do this. If I hear anything important, I'll let you know.
