Gosh, lots of music I don't know.
Was dropping in to let you know the bacon barter guy is in Chi-town. See wp's blog. Maybe you can get him up to your place and trade some Saturday supper or Sunday brunch for bacon.
:)
Have a great weekend.
Hope you're getting your flannels washed! :)
Company coming in a few minutes, too. My surrogate dau will be here ;) She is the one who ran away w/Wandering Gypsy when they were 18 to Colorado with $45.00 and my gas card! They're all growed (grown) up and she is bringing her fiance over to meet me for the first time. She lives in New York now, and I haven't seen her for like 5 years? Wow, has it been that long!
Back in a little while to watch the vids and goodies you dropped off Shore, and BF when I have more time. Ylee, ha ha Flannels! We're gonna need them sooner than we think--like Tuesday!!! Yes, that spot is about 45 minutes on the Ice Age trail in Kettle Moraine State park, just over the border. One of my favorite places to go in Fall.
BBL hope Alaska can hang on to it's igloos!!! Sheesh
Hope you had a great time with your visitors!
Hi Ozgalah, I just read your great post over at Sandi's and I see you should be beaming ear to ear with your successful breeding! I am so proud of you! Why, you are basically famous! Way to Go! Congratulations to the
I was at my son's home the other day and Molly and Boomer are doing very, very well. We've had an awful bout of Kennel cough in Wisconsin. My sister-in-law had an event (field trials of some sort, hers is a golden) and 30 of the animals had to scratch. WOW! Then my Mother in Law's existing little peke came down with kennel cough. The rescue guy is doing ok.
Meatloaf (my lab) is fighting an eye infection. UGH...all kinds of stuff in the air around here. You are lucky you are there. Hope your summer is not too hot though. Take care!
SD! Quoting #2: "Hi jus,

Have a great weekend. That is too freakin funny! I would have totally given him a ride on the Chain O Lakes for Bacon!
He did manage to find nicer accommodations than the sofa at Purdue.
Tomorrow, he moves on to Iowa. He has a BLT offer in Iowa City already (#needit)
I wonder if he knows to barter some bacon for toll money before he leaves Chicago LOL
Adding a tune, hope it hasn't been posted already
Clear crisp 50 degrees here tonight, brrr
(hey, it was a good effort. I give it a 4 for effort on a funny factor scale of 10--eh?)
Oh...woops...nvrmnd ;}
Yes obviously, I'm tired...
We had a good rain here today. It did get cold fast and getting a tad chillier. Saturday, we have an evening event by the Lake Front in Down Town Chicago at the Art Institute. Uhm...it will be 57 degrees! Yes, trying to plan the wardrobe is always fun this time of year...Flannel cocktail dresses are in, I hear :)
Stay warm!
Not been around much the last few days, but I laughed when I saw the above comment.
Layers, my dear, layers! As in a fancy pashmina or glittery cardigan!
Hope you are well, and glad to see you drop by my blog, even if you don't have time for stopping! lol
We had 'fire weather' watch today due to the low humidity and the winds. Now!!! We have thunderstorms!
How do we go from incredibly low humidity, to thunderstorms in a few hours! Wow!
The winds were very strong and wish I could have done a video when at their peak because the trees were really whipping around out there (as many of you have seen in my vids here)
Well, enough complaining about weather.
Kitty has a sore from a stray cat I'm concerned about. Why can't outdoor cats fight infections anymore? Hmmm. I never remember my kitties when I was young going to the vet all the time. Sheesh.
Meatloaf's eye infection is doing a bit better. Who knows what THAT is, too??? Hubby has to do the eye drops because it takes two to get those in.
Here's a new photo of Boomer (below)!! I can't wait to have them over. I miss my babies so much and due to work, plus Meatloaf's eye infection, I can't have them visit... Oh well, they are doing just fine without me :)
Ta ta all, and I will try to visit (lurk) if I just don't have words. Thanks for stopping and be safe all ships at sea or in port or where ever you may be!
You are in my thoughts...
Boomer wants to go riding in Wandering Gypsy's Jeep!
Travelin Man!
Thank you all for having some songs, posts, photos, cheer and interesting things on your blogs, including what is the weather. You have no idea how it helps to ease my worried mind...Peace...late night 'juslivn' 10, 9, 8...trains going to bed...

Heads up Central IL/IN Tornadoes are a small possibility in the 'slight' risk area, as well.
Stay safe
Happy Friday for anyone who pops by. Sorry haven't been around much. Work and lots of family stuff zapping time away... I shall contemplate a Monet or two for 'ya tomorrow night at the Art Institute of Chi. Can't wait! We will have a special dinner there, too, in the museum. Have a great weekend.
I have a confession to make. It was cold and rainy and I stayed in my bed and watched tv-- 'Mountain Men' all day on History Channel. Now I'm having a glass of Chardonnay and maybe going to half price za :) Life has its compensations. It was one of my hardest EVER work weeks in my life. EVER. I cannot post why. But, hopefully everything will work out for the best because I truly care so much, I over did it.
As for Mountain Men, I cannot get enough of German Shorthaired Pointer, Ellie on that show! I think Ellie is just amazingly beautiful :)
Not sure if I can photograph at the Art Institute. I still have no clue what I'm going to wear. Maybe will go shopping tomorrow? But, it's always a fun event once a year with this group--The Zoo, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, now the Art Institute...Very good times. I'm blessed. Stay safe all ships!
Guy I work for has just bought an Air Rifle with a scope. He's serious about pinging the black squirrels.
She will not settle till I come to bed!
Mananna:
Sorry- I meant to post on a different blog but got rushed off to bed before I had checked. Blogging too late is fun but not always simple.
I can appreciate the sentiments surrounding the candle above - maybe light one myself tonight.
Going down to 34 degrees late tonight. Obviously planning on wearing a pretty heavy coat for being right on Lake Michigan tonight. Brrrr in the Windy City on LSD ;)
Here is a link to what we may be seeing tonight at the Art Institute of Chicago. I'm looking forward to the Film and Photo in New York exhibit, and the Allen Ruppersberg collection "No Time Left to Start Again/The B and D of R 'n'R", and the Frank Lloyd Wright one.
Link
Oh, I was wrong earlier. Not Lake Shore Drive, duh...Michigan Ave. I have pics of the lions on my phone but it died
The R 'n' R exhibit was good. I may have been one of the few people who really, really looked at that :)
Pics of the trip are on my phone but none from inside (uploaded some of the trip to FB) but the rest I will post tomorrow.
I see they expanded the frost warning to include us now. It truly was not bad in the City. It was refreshing. When we got to Fox Lake (and the trains went to bed ;) it smelled almost like snow.
Goodnight all ships, be safe. Visions of Monet are dancing in my head all night for dreams.
(ohhhhh Jelawat--uhm nvrmnd)
Monet and decades of popular music in the same evening. Lucky girl, you. Add in Frank Lloyd Wright, and I could've died then and there.
Miriam is bound to put on a good show.
Have a great Sunday.
:)
Add: I know, I know...that was really, really bad.
Hi SD. Yes, last night was pretty amazing. I seriously have to go back. Do you know that was the first time I've ever been there? Not sure if the impressionists are always there, but that gallery is simply the most beautiful. There were some galleries closed to our group which I must go back and see again.
Thanks for stopping.
Will have to look at Miriam. Can't believe we are still seeing Nadine! Have a nice Sunday.
Sounds like you had a wonderful night with all the art and glad it wasn't too cold, loved Chicago, the architecture was amazing!
... Frost advisory in effect from 1 am CDT /2 am EDT/ to 8 am CDT
/9 am EDT/ Monday...
The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a frost
advisory... which is in effect from 1 am CDT /2 am EDT/ to 8 am
CDT /9 am EDT/ Monday.
* Temperature... temperatures will fall into the mid 30s
overnight... outside of the Chicago Metro area.
* Impacts... sensitive plants may be damaged or killed if left
unprotected.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A frost advisory means that frost is possible. Sensitive outdoor
plants may be killed if left uncovered.
Hope someone can bring you a pumpkin maybe? Or send you one? Maybe just some little gourds? Oh you will have fun with your dau being there for the holiday.
Meatloaf's eye has had to have drops, but there has been no improvement. I had him on hydrocodone allergy pill, too but I'm shocked how bad this eye thing is.
And, now the kitty has some sort of missing fur and two injuries on her hocks. I need an antibiotic for her, too I think. It never ends. What's up with that! UGH.
Oh well, I suppose it could be worse. Knock on wood it is nothing serious. Stay cool! Thanks for stopping by.
Brrrr. We're at 38.6F here. I stayed inside and baked all day :) It smelled like a bakery in here. We also checked the boat due to the winds last week. One of the lines did stretch and was in the water. Wow. But, it did fine. I'm starting to think it will be an early 'Fall Boat Day' (pull out) this year.
Oh well, night all ships. Be safe.

I guess I missed out on all the fun, dangit! :)
37 and enough frost for me to have to scrape my winshield; I guess fall's coming early this year!
Hope work is treating you better this week! Take care!
I stopped by your blog but didn't get a chance to write. Saw you got a lot done and are thinking of doing the floor. We did 'Manufactured Hardwood' It is sort of like laminate, but yet still hardwood. That was about 4 years ago and with the traffic here in this house!!! It is holding up great. Many colors and woods are available...we did Brazilian cherry. Love the product though and could give you the specs if needed. See you tomorrow. You know I'm always popping in when I can. Rarely miss a blog even if I don't post.
Hi Ylee!!!! I love your new blog, too! Thanks for the info on Jelawat. I was goofy yesterday. But...all the activity of the day before with the Art Institute and the trains and waahooooo. I was just having fun. Sounds like it is an early Fall for us all. Very weird to have our seasons almost reflect something somewhat 'normal'.
As for work, I made it through without a hitch today (so far). Last week was unbearably heart wrenching and I'm like totally scarred and need therapy! But...that's another story :) LOL Snuggle close in these great sleeping weather nights! Have a bonfire or a taffy apple!
At the dinner the other night, I had a piece of cheese I could literally taste a whole scene of sitting by a campfire in the mountains--it was smoked so lusciously! MMMMMMM. Gotta love Fall!
Thanks for stopping!
Ooops I think the windows are still open here and I probably should close those before going to bed. Thanks for the reminder, but it has been rather pleasant today.
In other news....My husband has been into the Alfred Hitchcock movies lately because he found the Alfred Hitchcock Channel on Encore or something. He is determined to see all the films like a series. (wow)
When we were in California, we tried to go where the scene from Vertigo was filmed at the tower, but we got a bit distracted, lol.
Anyway...he was watching yet another one, 'Family Plot' and this scene came on.
Cracked me up! LOL!
I am soooo glad we did not see this before we went to see the Sequoias up and down those mountain roads!
(The scene is totally me even on the way to Midway Airport on the Dan Ryan in Chicago, LOL!!!)

Some of the words you had written set my mind towards a creative bent!
Ever since Linda introduced me to 'tetactrys' poetry I have become fascinated by the mathematical rhytmn of them, so here is one for you!

Remembering hot days of summer - gone!
Going to see Boomer and Molly after work. Oh, and son#2 LOL ha ha
It is an absolutely beautiful day here. The trees are really starting to turn now with a show of yellows and some orange up here. May be able to get pics later today when I'm visiting the doggies.
Have a great day!
I like Sandi's poem a lot. Very romantic. Melting butter and melted hearts.
Anyway...
Never seen that Hitchcock scene. I have lived it though. Lol. My '86 (ironic?) Buick Electra Estate Wagon, a great car otherwise - tried to kill me one time on a northern CA two-lane mountain highway. Maybe too long a story to put here.
(mod.)
:)
Have a good one.
Pic was taken at Newport Beach (hubby took it when I didn't even know) It reminds me of Cali :)
This is floating around FB but cracks me up after last nights debacle
bbl
Some shakin goin on up there in N. Cal earlier today, 4.5 eq.
Thanks for bringing the story!
Didn't see the controversial end of the Seahawk game because I flipped over to Dancing with the Stars to wait for Emmitt Smith's dance... :)
BUT the thing that got me mad on Sunday was that guy (#51 on the Denver Broncos) when he tried to put Houston's QB in the neuro ICU, or kill him. #51 shoulda been kicked out then and there, and suspended, and forced to donate to a neuro rehab ward, if not be arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. What a jerk. All the namby-pamby officials did was call a penalty.
SYL
I'm talking too much. I better check weather. Later.
I figured that you avy was taken either in Cali or Lake Mich.(the guy in the water behind you beng sucked out by a rip current)!
You think the NFL will kick out the scabs and give the real refs a raise and let them come back? Not likely. If the Players Association was serious about solidarity, they'd walk, too, citing safety concerns. That'd bring everybody to the table!
Getting a little taste of second season tonight. Maybe will kick in good by October. Pretty stormy up in MO and KS. Moreso than here. But we are getting a good line through. So. IL, too. Places that need rain.
9/25/2012 storm reports
I got home late from my son's so I just sort of watched the storms in So. IL and didn't jump on to post. Saw some tweets about damage, ugh! Yes, part 3 begins, Fall storms.
So, here is the pics from my visit with the 'grandkids' lol, ok fine--grandpups! What a great yard my son has at his new place. We sat and visited for a while. It was his day off. The dogs are really well cared for and happy. (I am proud of my son. He is a lucky kid for getting something like this with a great yard and tolerant landlord. Plus, a neighbor upstairs with Bella! Is that not freaky luck smiling on everyone?!!!)
On another note: It was 'Marnie' for tonight's Alfred Hitchcock movie. Interesting flick. You WILL NOT believe what I saw in that movie. I'll post it after the pups...
Night all ships!
PS. Gorgeous grand-kids!
Thank you, thank you on the kiddies. They are good babies.
We've had some very good weather around our parts, but Dau#3 is getting more than her share in Oklahoma, yikes. He future in-laws live in Piedmont and had some nasty hail this evening, too.
As for us. I did have to water again today. It is extremely dry and wish that would change. But we'll take the temperatures anyway
Only real news here - A rip current warning (and I think a small craft advisory?) for Lake MI by Lake and Cook Counties over to Indiana/W. MI.
Lots of Waterspouts this year. Wonder if there will be more with this tomorrow morning?
Watching OK weather, so, Night All! Stay Safe all Ships!
