Hi all! So, less than two weeks until our California Trip!
And of course I'm California Dreamin!
For me, I pretty much have to 'endure' the meetings and conference and biz...for a few days, and THEN--
THEN--
Dream Trippin Cali!

Plan is to take a fast car up to Sequoia National Park after business meetings in Anaheim. (I don't want to go to Disney. I want to see the Sequoias :)
We'll stay in a rustic lodge in the park...and visit the Giant Sequoia Monument area.

Tree House by MojaveDesertRat

Can I just fall over here! What an amazing photo! Just can't believe this will be a dream for me come true cause this girl from the Mid-west just didn't get too many places quite yet. If just to touch the bark and feel that earthy root. Wow.

Then after the Sequoia NP, we trickle over heading ever toward the water (you know me!) Westward, to Cambria by the sea :)
oh-- in between-- Hubby has a few vineyard stops :) well planned.
We slide down the pacific coast, along the highway 1 and 101? I guess in the brief time we have, we will see so much along the way. Just in time to make it back to LA to dance into the wee hours before taking back off to reality.

Simply-- Carpe Diem Cali! (We don't have many days, but we will take them to the limit!)

So, help me play some Traveling Tunes and please post your favorite pictures captured for this California Dreaming blog!
C'mon, you know the ones!
Play some of the forgotten fun California tunes or your memory song from Cali.
You know I love it when you do that!

Arrggggh! Seems like you have it under control over there!

Sharks? We saw some Dolphins in the Pacific. But apparently the area we were in is called the 'triangle?' or something because of all the great whites? Some people don't like to surf where we were, but there were still brave people out there.

Arrrgggh!

I had a little visit in my blog from my favourite little troll.
Just when you think its safe to go into the waters a shark appears.
Speaking of sharks,we have really had a huge amount of Great White shark sightings along the new england coast this year.In fact one person was attacked. They attribute this to the explosion of the seal population up this way.

Hi, jus, glad you're back! I like the photo with the caption "grow!"!

We had a strong line of storms go through with 40+ mph winds and heavy rain, but no damage was done!

Watches and warnings all south. Hmmm. Ok here's a really quick slide show which needs editing. And, it is not all the pics yet.

Turn on your speakers and play the two tunes below while you watch the show. You can stop the slides with the arrows when you hover over. I haven't picked the photos for WU yet because there are too many to choose from. Two of the best mountain pics aren't in here yet. Oh well, here goes...

Sandi, ROTFLMBO! Hee, sure she does! She doesn't let on for the proper folk, lol.

Hiya NEw! Thanks on the photos complement (Sandi, and others from last night, too) I have more ----LOTS more, LOL. And looks like tonight is shaping up to be dayjaview (That was for Sandi :)
MCD to follow below
Sweatshirt weather huh? Good because I'm totally out of summer clothes. Leslie and Michael! (He smells like cookies I hear, all the ladies love him) and Son of Isaac wow! It's a lot to keep a handle on and let's hope they all play nice! (wishful thinking). Mom goes back to Delray on the 11th of Sept. uhg! Why I can't convince her to stay through end of Hurricane season is beyond me.

Anyhooo, Alaska got creamed eh? Sheesh, hope they all get their power back soon. Bad un up there! that's not a good omen for the Fall season. Why do I feel a LOWcomotive may be headed our way? Better check out the models.

Oh yeah, the MCD dayjaview of last night. Lather, rinse, repeat...

Jus,I've found time to get in here and welcome you back. I love the pics from the great redwoods,I find those trees just amazing in the size.Humans look like ants standing next to them.
Hope your ready for the feel of fall this coming week, pretty chilly air will be descending on the northern states, and also diving south.
Thankfully we will miss Leslie this weekend, although it looks like Bermuda may take a pounding.
Anyway Glad to have you back safe and sound,it really sounds like you had a great trip.

AREAS AFFECTED...CNTRL/E-CNTRL WI...NERN IA...FAR WRN UP OF MI...FAR
NRN IL

CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 614...

VALID 050130Z - 050230Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 614
CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...LOCAL EXTENSION OF THE WW WILL LIKELY BE REQUIRED AS TSTM
ACTIVITY CONTINUES TO PROGRESS EWD AND MOVES OUT OF THE CURRENT
WATCH AREA. TSTM ACTIVITY SHOULD CONTINUE FOR ANOTHER HOUR OR TWO
BEFORE BEGINNING A WEAKENING TREND.

DISCUSSION...TSTM ACTIVITY ACROSS THE WATCH AREA HAS EVOLVED INTO
THREE SEPARATE LINE SEGMENTS. THE FIRST IS MOVING EWD ACROSS LAKE
SUPERIOR AND ONTO THE WRN COAST OF MICHIGAN/S UPPER PENINSULA. THIS
ACTIVITY HAS SHOWN SOME INTENSIFICATION DURING THE PAST HOUR BUT A
DIMINISHING TREND IS ANTICIPATED AS THE BOUNDARY LAYER CONTINUES TO
COOL. THE SECOND IS ACROSS CNTRL WI AND HAS EXHIBITED AN INCREASE IN
FORWARD-PROPAGATION DURING THE LAST HOUR. LATEST KGRB RADAR IMAGERY
SHOWS THE OUTFLOW IS BEGINNING TO PUSH AHEAD OF THE LINE AND A
WEAKENING TREND IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT HOUR WITH THIS LINE OF
STORMS AS WELL. THE THIRD IS MOVING SWD ACROSS SRN WI INTO FAR NWRN
IA AND POSSIBLY NRN IL. THIS SEGMENT EVOLVED FROM A CLUSTER OF
SUPERCELLS AROUND AND SE OF LSE AND THE ARX VAD WIND PROFILE SHOWS A
DECENT REAR INFLOW JET SIGNATURE. THIS SIGNATURE HAS BEEN GRADUALLY
WEAKENING AS THE LINE MOVES FARTHER S. THE MATURE NATURE OF THIS
LINE MAY ALLOW IT TO CONTINUE FOR LONGER THAN THE OTHER TWO LINES
PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED...BUT IT TOO WILL ENCOUNTER AN INCREASINGLY
MORE STABLE ENVIRONMENT AS THE BOUNDARY LAYER COOLS/DECOUPLES. THE
ERN PORTION OF THE LINE /NEARING MKE/...HAS RECENTLY ACCELERATED EWD
AS THE OUTFLOW PUSHES SEWD. THIS SEEMS TO SIGNAL THAT THIS PORTION
OF THE STORM WILL BEGIN WEAKENING SHORTLY BUT IT MAY REMAIN CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING A FEW SVR GUSTS IN NRN IL. A DOWNSTREAM WW MAY BE NEED
ACROSS THIS AREA.

Uhm Hmmmm, and what do we have here? This storm obviously does not want me to work on photos because it has been ominously causin trouble just over da border in Sconsin.

One tornado warning I saw earlier and now a watch and several warnings for Counties just above mine (Walworth, Kenosha) and it may clip me, too.

Not liking the bow action for heading over the lake. Heads up Milwaukee, Kenosha, Waukegan NE corner of IL and over the lake.

Hi all! Hope everyone is well and those hit by Isaac are recovering.

Thank you for the wishes and for stopping in. New blog shortly.
I still need to sort through all the pics and get them posted on WUphotos before it's too late. Then, I'll come back and do a slide show or something.
Went back to work today (oh like they all left me alone on vacation? NOT!) Yesterday it was laundry and basic recovery time. Today, work craziness!

But we had a trip of a lifetime! It was just amazingly cooool.

Ok here's a brief vid with foreplay (heh heh) No, really the song on the radio in the background is Foreplay. Bit of a teaser until I get the slideshow done. Ttfn!

P.S. Ylee, I'll try to put the photos so you can see them. This song on the radio is Boston - 'Foreplay'-just before 'Long Time'

Oh, I hope you have looked up at a Sequoia and felt like you are one with the Universe. Been thinking of you all week. Was gonna post the 5-day precip forecast for Isaac but I see shore linked it. Lots of rain for AR, MO, IL and onward. I saw a piece of him tonight. A thin and broken gray cloud curving out of the NE and back into the SE sky. Then the Moon came out and the cloud disappeared. That's all for here - a cloud sighting.

Enjoy your days in California!

justlivn, I wish I'd known sooner that you were coming to California! I posted something on FB about all the quakes and someone told me you were here and felt some!

If you were on docks, I doubt you felt quakes, but more just the movement of the water. Sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned! Hope you are enjoying the weather, although for me, it's a bit too hot. If you get a chance to come to Seal Beach - I can recommend some good restaurants and you can walk on our wooden pier!

Hi Bogon! Fancy meeting you here. Well, no earth shakes to speak of close by today over 2.5 (?) Figures I'd go to California for the first time in 20 years for me and there'd be a 'swarm' of 300 earthquakes---OOOPS oh dang, I jus jinxed it didn't I! :( Nice tune Bogon.

Catching up on Isaac and really just have caught warnings from twitter from WU and NHC etc...but noticed the water vapor loop. Did he split in two? East of FL? Maybe that was old and he was just getting bigger.

These, and other questions answered in 5, 4, 3, 2 1 blast off into the main...I'm goin in, wish me luck! Thanks for stoppin bogon.

Maybe I'd better get another one of these...maybe.

In socal today. Kind of unnerving being at newport beach w all those quakes south. Think I felt one or two, but I was holding onto a metal raillooking at the boats when I did feel it them. Well, it's pretty much a floating island (balboa) anyway so not sure if I cld feel anything of a quake. Made me nervous knowing 80 plus quakes to our south. I really enjoyed the beaches and restaurants and people today, regardless. Beautiful! Pics soon.

Thanks all for stopping with your farewell wishes. Ylee, BEARS???!!!

I'll post pics tomorrow and will be watching Isaac and anything else which may happen through the week. Son already has the dogs here for house sitting and they are making things chaotic, too.

Sandi, she's all good. She can't sit. She's got to move...and go go go. She was driving her jeep and the stick shift today. I think she's got shifting with her left down? Not sure I want to know how she does it.

Not packed yet for California. And work was insane today. Will just barely escape out of town Sat. morning and run as fast as we can.
Can't decide if I'm taking my laptop. It's older and really heavy. Hubby has one but all my hurricane links and weather links are here. He has conference stuff until basically Wednesday. So will be on my own to hang at the pool or such until we take off for the trip to the Sequoias and Cambria, etc...Or maybe I'll figure out how to get to the beaches. I'm not a big beach person. I'd rather be fishing or something. We'll see.

Have watched as much as I could to keep up on Isaac and am still going to hang on the main until I crash.

Stay safe all ships, have a great day tomorrow.

Add: WG :) Happy, healthy and livin it!
