New Blog to bring in April. March turned out to be really busy. We'll see where April takes us!

Feel free to jump in with weather anytime since I have less free time. Or drop off a flower or share thoughts. You know I'm close by, but sometimes am just trying to keep up with work.

Happy Easter!

Great shot at the circus. It's always been my plan B.

Hosted some family festivities today. Attending more tomorrow.

Hi Alley, Gamms, and Oz! Thank you for the wishes. Wow we had a feast tonight at my Mother in Laws! We had so much fun, too. Son brought lil boomer over to play with everyone. That was really fun. The kids got such a kick out of the puppy :)

Oh my they had so much good food and I am already gaining sooo much weight lately. Will have to really start a workout of tennis or yardwork or something soon.

(I think the nieces got some cute pics of the puppy with all of them and I'll post those soon) Couple of fun things though. Son went to the circus later in the evening and took this photo.

I think everyone should LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH, AND GO TO THE CIRCUS!

Photobucket">

Then, Boomer was watching TV. Like his big sister Molly used to do. It was hysterical! I guess it is a circus every day around here, now that I think about it :) LOL.

Photobucket">

We'll have Church tomorrow, then actually a quiet day because we did most of our family stuff today. My kids will go to their Dad's family and Significant Other's for Brunch and Dinner. They now are doing the holiday three visit thing. (I'm so happy we don't have to do that all in one day any more, whew!) But, I sort of miss having everyone here. It will be my turn again soon.

Anyway, hope you all have a nice Easter or had a nice Passover.

Weather??? Ok, well we have a FOG WATCH (yeah that weird Significant Weather Warning Green Vague Stuff on the Warning Map, LOLOL) out in NorthWestern Illinois.

Then tomorrow we have a FIRE WATCH. That one is surprising, because we actually had a tad drizzle of rain here today for a while. Conditions will have to pretty much flip 100% to go to a fire watch.

Night all ships. Have a nice day even if you don't celebrate. Hope you relax and enjoy. And, hope there is no foul weather. See ya Monday!

Hi Jus hope you have a happy and safe Easter! We are off to the wineries today looking forward to it, I am chauffeur so Hubby can taste! Have all the dogs out running around so they can be put in their runs for the day while we go out. We have one of the pups from our last litter visiting and its suprising how quickly she has slipped back into our routines. She's definately one of the gang again now.

Hey,Jus,think this mother will be up for Mother of the Year award?

A mother in California has apparently taken the meaning of dangerous driving to a whole new level. Shawndeeia Bowen was caught driving down a freeway in San Diego while texting and holding a one-year-old baby in her lap. And, just to up the daredevil stakes and fully secure that 'Driver of the Year' award, police say she also had two kids in the back seat that weren't properly secured and was driving on a suspended license. She was arrested after a fellow driver alerted authorities, who didn't accept her excuse that she'd only had her baby on her knee to comfort her cries.

Hi Mass and NEw, thank you for your greetings and back to you! Hope to get a greeting around later. Working on the house today and cleaning for the holiday. Good Friday Services begin later this evening. Family in from Michigan and we'll actually celebrate tomorrow because they have to leave right after church on Sunday.

If I don't get back, we have a chance of spotty frost tonight. It's beautiful out, but clear and chilly again today.

Have a wonderful holiday all!

Happy Easter,Jus, I've made it a rule to never start my planting until well into May,I always get caught with a below freezing period, right into May.Pansys are about the only flower that can withstand the cold.
The orchards are the one's in danger, with the blossoms coming out so early, hopefully they can set up fans around the trees.

A triple!!! Hit against the ivy (well not ivy yet). Add: Out at home base. Darnit!

Our Freeze Watch has been upgraded to a Warning now :(

... Freeze warning in effect from 1 am CDT /2 am EDT/ to 8 am CDT
/9 am EDT/ Friday...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a freeze
warning... which is in effect from 1 am CDT /2 am EDT/ to 8 am CDT
/9 am EDT/ Friday. The freeze watch is no longer in effect.

* Temperatures... will fall into the upper 20s and low 30s by early
Friday morning.

* Impacts... with the record warm March bringing vegetation
growth far ahead of schedule... sensitive vegetation may be
damaged or killed by the freezing temperatures.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

Hi NEw, Ylee - Yes, Incredible stories out of Texas.

Breezy here but a nice day. Crossing my fingers for tonight's frost. Hope not too much gets damaged. I feel for all the orchards/vineyards.

After an outbreak like the one in Texas, you hear such amazing stories. The Grandmother who had her 3 grandchildren staying with her and when the tornado threatened she huddled with the 3 grandkids in the middle of the house covering them as much as possible and the whole house collapsed around them and she felt her grandson being pulled out, and she held onto his legs to keep him from being pulled up into the tornado and they all made it out safely.Just amazing stories.

Yup, they look a bit mundane, lol. More activity elsewhere.

Found this piece quite interesting. Thanks to Tropicalanalyst13 from the main (and I will plus this in a moment):

Good food for thought from the main. I liked this article (it may be a bit rad for some) good reading for me though.

Will Chicagoland be ready?

I am soooo actually Happy! -- Happy! that Texas was so ready on a day which came out of no-where yesterday. 13 tornadoes and NO fatalities? WE SHOULD HOLD A PARTY FOR TEXAS! WOW. That was awesome! Whoo hooooooooo! That was pretty incredible and says a lot. Although I'm not sure exactly what. Was it all the schools which were prepared? Was it the spotters which saw it and identified and were just awesome? Was it the media because it was a metro area? OMG soooo much came together and saved lives. Also, listening to the stories of the survivors, they KNEW what to do! One man crawled into a tub and put an ironing board over his head. Good deal. This is such good news.

I hope everyone is watching what happened in Texas and really will listen if something comes to their area.
OK Night. The trains are really going to bed now :) Be safe all ships!

Nah, the storms in S.Ill looks like they are going to skirt to the north of me, if they don't rain themselves out first!

Have you ever seen so many slow-moving storm systems? Not very many squall lines this year!

Nope Ylee. We aren't doing it any more. We just can't stay up that late on a 'school night' lol. (We both work) Dau was especially tired because her commute is a lot worse and she leaves very early. Her co-workers were supporting her and even her boss came to one of the karaokes. I thought that was very nice. But, too many weeks of competition. Oh well.

Is that lil line down in Southern IL headed your way?

Yikes! Poor buds, indeed! Of course, I had a feeling this would happen! :( They're forecasting upper 30s for us Friday and again on Tuesday, so we'll see if it'll frost or not.

Heck, I think I'm getting the occasional whiff of honeysuckle, which usually doesn't start blooming until mid-May!

I'm sure you guys are having a blast at the karaoke, but like you said, if you suffer the next day for it, you have to figure out if it's worth doing every week.

Stay warm!

Shore, #38 link -- that's really cute! Too funny.

Glad you didn't get hit by any storms. Hope you get some sunshine and a calm day for work tomorrow.
Member Since: August 20, 2009 Posts: 91 Comments: 10380
Hi, Jus,

Since you're not doing Karaoke tonight, I brought you another little amusement. No, it doesn't involve doggies or flowers, but you still should get a kick out of cats as fonts!

It's finally cleared out here. Yesterday was DFW, and today was out turn. Not so much rain, but lots of lightning and thunder, and severe warnings. Some hail around, too. A total washout of a day... but we've got some blue sky above the fog now. Maybe tomorrow will be a work day!

Hi Ozgalah, yes, it is just very strange weather all over. Hope the puppy works out well. The winery sounds like fun. Must be pretty there.
Texas was so very lucky not to have any fatalities. That would be a miracle for Easter or Passover or ??? you know what I mean :)

Well, dau and I have decided no more karoke on Wednesday nights. It is just too much for both of us with work the next day. Last week, we were there until almost mid-night and we just don't feel like doing this again this week.
We had a lot of fun and she's a winner in my book. Maybe we'll find a shorter contest or one on the weekends.
Member Since: August 20, 2009 Posts: 91 Comments: 10380
Oh what is the weather doing????? We have apple trees in blossom, Jacaranda trees in flower and birds nesting again, and its Autumn! Watched the TV news on Texas, very scary, the people interviewed were wonderful they had lost so much but were so positive that at least they were unhurt. We arrive on 29th, hope everything has calmed down by then!!!! We have one of the pups from our last litter coming "home" for a stay while her owners are overseas, I hope she can fit back in with the gang or life will get a bit complcated for the next couple of weeks. Well housework is screaaming my name and I hope to have a big clean and tidy today and then hopefully have a break over the Easter holiday, Hubby wants to go to Langhorne Creek region wineries so I will be chauffeur!!

Hi NEw, That's too bad about the doors. And, I'm so sorry to hear of Prince's illness. You are good to get him the care he needs though and keep him comfortable. The canned lighting sounds really nice so can't wait to hear how the mudding went.
A Carribean Island sounds REALLY good at the moment! Hope you feel better tomorrow. I think this stuff going around is allergies (?)

Well, we sort of knew THIS was coming! Poor buds :(

GM,dropping by before my hectic day starts.
Jus,we gave up on the idea of the French doors, just way too much money, this project is costing us more than we thought and now we've put a lot of money into prince's illness,so the French doors are out,but the lights should really look nice.
Throat is better, but still not feeling well, think I've got myself run down too much.Thinking this morning a couple weeks on a carribean island should fix me up.

No alerts for the areas I see popping up in Central Illinois. I'm not so sure those aren't wind farms making that racket? But as a contrast -- we up here are at 50 some odd degrees and on the line it is about 83? Ah haaaa said the not so scientific weather girl lol.

Map:

Anyhoooo....Mass: Simply cannot believe your rain situation there in Mass this year as compared to previous Spring's. Practically a record flip flop there.
But, more importantly MIL! Oh my goodness! I do hope they get the situation figured out. What a hassle to go through at this point just to get good care. I'm sorry Mass. I hope it all works out. Who needs the stress at that point in life. My goodness!

oK back to checking on this Weather. I'll post if I see anything substantial for Illinois, but I think we have just your random icky hail and not the tornadic stuff tonight. Knock on wood. Be safe all ships! Maybe music to wind down by later? We all may need it, after watching TX and the scariness today!

Hi Ozgalah, yes, the airport was a bit damaged. When do you fly in? If I can remember it isn't until later this month(?) It should be fine by then. It was a bad day in Texas.

Hiya YOU BC! Oh soooo happy to see you up and about and out on the blogs! You look Mahvelous! lol!
Yes, his name is Boomer! 'baby boomer' wah hahahaha! He's trouble with a capitol 'B' Steals the big dogs bones, he does. But I'm still in charge around here and he knows it ;)

NEw, wow! You really did it this time. Taking on a huge project like that AND getting sick. I am hoping your throat issues are just allergies. They are horrible all over the country. But the ceiling lights sound very, very nice and I liked the idea of the new french doors, so I'm rooting for you! You weekend (er LOOONNNGGGG weekend) warrior YOU!

Mass: Hi, oh dang...I just saw Illinois pop storms in Central IL. Hmmmmm brb.

Sandi!!! snow?????

I looked back through your last blog at all the too-cute puppy pics, but I couldn't find a name anywhere, unless... I did see "Boomer" mentioned in one place, but from the context I'm not sure. Is that his name?

Hi Jus thanks for the flower! Yes out to lunch today with DIL and the children should be fun. Watching Texas reports, we fly into Fort Worth, hear on our news the airport is in possible line of fire. Will watch with interest...stay safe.

Mass and NEw, wow watching TX right now. Will respond when this is over.
For Illinois, hopefully nothing more than what the MCD discusses in the way of hail and winds. Take care everybody!

GM,Jus,I made it back from my home remodeling project.I should say Barely!!!!I have an appointment with the head shrink today to try to analyze why I ever decided to do some of this myself.I'm sure the final analysis will be temporary insanity. Also I don't recommend working in a dustfilled environment with sore throat and laryngitis.Just getting back my voice today, although I still do a great immitation of a bull frog.
Anyway the room is coming along, plaster is there this week to the ceilings and walls.

(((JUS))) ~

Thanks for providing smiles a-plenty with those adorable pics below of the new puppy at play and for your well wishes posted on my April WU blog! In the first pic of post #20, he looks like he's wishing for a more edible party favor to gnaw on. LOL!

Currently, we're in sort of a crisis mode concerning my elderly mother-in-law vs her nursing home and Medicare. My brother-in-law has hired a lawyer to help sort this big mess out as she could be ousted in less than 60 days and things could become even more critical. PRAYERS UP!

Weather-wise, we've got red flag warning up all over the place, as we've had no effective rainfall for months. Naturally, we're keeping a close eye on all this, as we live in a fairly wooded area. Hopefully, April showers will arrive soon enough to moisten the parched trees, shrubs, ground, etc. to safe levels again. I think we all have had enough to worry about these days.

Hope you and yours are doing well and won't encounter any dangerous weather in the days/months ahead. I'll do my best to keep you posted on things. Right now, my brain feels rather scrambled.

Morning to you and your houseful of pets:)

The snow storms are due to head south and reach here by tomorrow morning! Oh, deep Joy!

Hi Mush and Ylee again. Tried to take some pictures of Boomer tonight, but he was moving around too fast. Maybe I will try to post them anyway.

Some crazy storms down South and West and keeping an eye on Oklahoma for Dau and friends. Minneapple just lit up a bit too, so have to go check that line out.

South and West reminds me of our storms the other day: They're going the wrong way!

Hi Ylee, 87? Uhm that's quite a difference!
We don't think we are going to do any planting this year. Hubby wants to boat and go to Door County and so we may leave the gardening up to our wonderful local farms and visit their farm stands and markets. If we could get the lawn to the level of mow and go...that would suit my husband just fine at this point. I think he's just tired of yard work. Me, if I'm home, I really enjoy it. But, if I am busy with work or off with him, it seems like just another chore I didn't get to. It really is a lifestyle choice. Right now, we choose to go go go!

Here's a coupla maps: Can you see these? They are just surface maps but kind of interesting w/the temps and dewpoints.
