Last month the desktop computer we have been using with the PWS for several years began having mysterious crashes and the MS "Blue Screen of Death" syndrome. So far, we haven't found the cause or the cure. So, I bought a little Toshiba NB505 Netbook computer and it has now been set up to run the Virtual Weather Station software. After some initial teething problems with it putting itself into hibernation when left alone, it now seems content to do the required data processing and upload every 10 minutes. As of 9 pm tonight, 6/26/2011, it has been running continuously for over 50 hrs without a problem. We sincerely hope this continues. :-)
We apologize to any of our weather viewers who checked the station and found the data missing or out of date. Hopefully we have solved that problem.
