PACIFIC OCEAN U-TURN

So I am now in Ellensburg, Washington. High desert. Mountains all around. I could be in Ocean Shores in 4 hours or so. But I will meander south a bit, then west, so as to enjoy Mount Rainier up close and personal. Hoping to get some nice photos.

The big reunion will wait until Monday morning.

It will be interesting. Not sure if the cats will recognize me. Not sure what I will do. Three months ago I dropped them off and stirred up the home life of Dianna. Now that everyone has settled in and gotten acquainted (even Dutchie and Maggie getting along!) here come Joe and stirs it all up again.

I know Dianna will miss the girls, maybe even her pets will miss them. But soon everything will be back to normal, just as before. Dianna, take a bunch of pictures while you can.

Meanwhile, I start the long trip back east. I figure 5 days. 5 days of crying and yowling. Transporting the girls in and out of hotels. Pulling them out from under the bed... Cleaning up the cat puke...

Looking forward to it.

It just took a little bit for Fluffer to recognize him, but they really didn't get to spend much time getting reacquainted before she had to go into the car, then wait for Dutchie to come out of the bushes. His voice was the one that coaxed Dutchie to come out...I had gone back to my yard to watch, and drink my coffee. He was really patient.

I'm glad the three of them are together again but I will miss the girls, especially Fluff. She is a great cat and I can' help wondering what a story she would tell if she could.

The next 5 days are going to be a trial, but they will get through it...then on to the next chapter in this story.

Thanks to all for the nice things you have said; it was a pleasure to care for and love them.

Awwwww! It makes me emotional to think about it. I have a feeling you will miss them a bit but you were so gracious to help out so much. I know Joe is grateful. I hope Dutchie doesn't do any fancy "bolting" while enroute. Did they know him at all?

Well, they're gone as of 9:12am, but not without some Dutchie-drama. Joe was here at about 8:15 and both cats were in the car by 8:40, but Dutchie had one more chance and she bolted. Luckily Joe was patient and used his most persuasive voice and she came out for him. That's the condensed version.

The original plan was to be out of here by 9am, so it all worked out. I hope he brought ear plugs! My last sight of Fluffer was the one that tore me up, looking up at me from the floor behind the driver's seat, meowing. I will miss her enormously. I'll put some photos on my blog.

Glad you got there Joe. I'm not sure the kitties will know what to do with themselves traveling in a nearly empty car. Maybe you should stop behind a grocery store and fill it up with empty boxes so they feel more at home.

Have a good return trip.

The Columbia Gorge is on my short list of places to go; maybe someday!

Good luck this week!

You called it BriarCraft. Beautiful early morning, but later AM fog moved in.

Still a nice drive, one awesome lookout saved the day.
Pics later.

In Ocean Shores as I write.

Lots of marine layer overcast in the lowlands on the west side of Rainier today. Hopefully, Joe is above the clouds enjoying a beautiful mountain.
