INJURIES, AND IN JURIES

Finally took down the Christmas lights.

Anyone booking a flight on AMERICAN AIRLINES, check this out. I have a transferrable voucher worth a HUNDRED BUCKS if you are booking a flight on American. I got it a year ago when they screwed up my flight plans, but cannot use it. Refer to my blog “Stress Free Flying is UnAmerican.”

I cannot use it with all their restrictions, but if you are booking with American YOU can use it. Anybody. Just send me an email and I will send it to you. It has to be used by 8-29-2012. American Sucks, would love them to pay your bill. First comes gets it.

Had a new 6 inches of snow a couple nights ago. The dirty drifts were covered over again, looking good. And the melt begins again... Tonight it is snowing big wet flakes, looks like stuck cars in the morning.

Tonight I was cooking a big chunk of salmon on the grill. I seasoned one chunk, and left the other chunk unseasoned for the cats. NOSEY and GOLDEN ROD were in the neighborhood, and they chowed down. Both of them are very friendly. Nosey comes right up to me like a big dog. Have not seen a fox for a few days. But there has been a lot of snow.

The injuries and fatalities continue with the fishing boats. A broken arm here, a cut off fingertip there (happened in the shower). 3 guys in a small boat had to abandon ship in the middle of the night a couple nights ago, and the USCG sent a chopper to pull them out. Another guy fell overboard near Sand Point and has not been found. Snapping cables have killed one person and badly injured another.

That cut off fingertip brought a 390 foot vessel in early. Severe injuries, or illness, require the dangerous medevac with helicopter. Lesser injuries require the boat to return. Costly either way to company and victim.

Louisville stunned everyone and won the BIG EAST. Their reward? Fly a couple thousand miles to play in Portland, Oregon. Vanderbilt stunned Kentucky and beat them to win the SEC. Really was a meaningless game. UK is still #1 seed in the tournament. Maybe will wake them up at the best time. I liked to see Vandy win the conference, actually. Give them their time in the spotlight. It was a good game and they won it.

Doing a bracket tonight.

The Miss Unalaska contest has been canceled due to lack of participants.

I am up for jury duty again. My vacation is right in that time period. If I have plane tickets, I think they will let me postpone it. Or not.

InsideUK Saw your PM, David Cameron along with our President at the Dayton arena (JoeA's old stomping grounds) watching Western KY and Mississippi Valley basketball team go after each other. Great game. WKU was behind 16 points with about 5 minutes to play and they pulled it out and won x 1. The President and PM were interviewed by Clark Kellogg at half-time and they were having a jolly old time. PM Cameron invited us all to come to London this summer and to stay awhile. He said everything is in place for the Summer Games.

Judging by what my TV is showing me pictures of right now then stress free flying is also unDelta...

Ooops.

There has to be safer ways to test the brakes are functioning than to hurtle a jet plane full tilt down a runway and then see if it can stop before the next state line?

Especially in Unalaska. Bad idea. Very bad...

I have an official, and very serious, complaint to lodge at this juncture. It is with regard to YOUR March Madness, which I am hereby renaming March Mistake.

As some of you will be aware I have followed this tournament closely for the past couple of years, since it was kindly brought to my attention by Mr Unalaska (2008 - current). Knowing slightly less than zilch about the sport, beyond fond memories of the Harlem Globetrotters exploits on Saturday afternoon TV over at my Grans house in the 1970's (cue much spinning of - proper round shaped - footballs on fingertips until fine china teapots got smashed) I have subsequently amazed myself at my winning bracket picking abilities.

Or more likely just found myself getting all the luck whilst pitted against some of the more 'knowledgeable' contenders right here on this blog. I use the word 'knowledgeable' with a heavily botoxed poker players straight face...

Last year I was able to watch the games live, via the NCAA's FREE app, on my iphone. All I had to do was register in Joes name, using his address and his personal measurements, then answer a few questions about his personal preferences and BINGO – the entire tournament was made available to me, GRATIS.

What's more, I happen to know that Joe has made full use of that free made to measure knitting pattern and dozen balls of baby pink mohair wool he received last year from 'Creative Knitting Magazines' summer promotion.

I was bang on target with all his circumferences and multiradial measurements. Just so long as he avoids a hot wash.

So this year, the NCAA have made a big hoohah about this brilliant 2012 FREE app that is available for the iphone, ipad and selected andriod phones – giving you the option of all 67 games to watch live WHEREVER YOU ARE for a one off fee of $3.99.

It was FREE TO VIEW last year, but let's overlook this kind of HYPERINFLATION for the moment.

Let us concentrate on the NCAA'S big SALES POINT – 'watch the games live WHEREVER you are'.

Just so long as you are IN America, because I can't even access the app this year – never mind buying the live coverage. IT'S BLOCKED IN THE UK!

So as the US President prepares to fly into Dayton, Ohio (home of the infamous university knitting fraternity) accompanied by the British Prime Minister (his clueless dunder head doubtless currently stuck in a copy of 'Basketball for Dummies') to watch one of the opening games, I am LEFT BEREFT.

I don't wish to start a diplomatic incident, but I have to tell you – I'm thinking of tweeting DUNDER DAVE (the British PM) and telling him what's happened.

At the very least I expect him to smash a teapot or two.

here's something to keep ya on the edge of your seat:

http://sorisomail.com/partilha/188658.html

It ends well, so no worries :)

And here's a series honoring the KY Wildcats (though it's kitties not the players): http://www.pidney.com/index.php?option=com_conten t&view=article&id=47&Itemid=94 .

Pidney is out of Berea, KY. I've known him personally for a long, long time. In fact, he did this picture of my super-champion Rottie's dad (who was the #1 AKC Conformation Rottweiler in the country for two years running, all owner handled): http://www.pidney.com/index.php?option=com_conten t&view=article&id=76%3Athrough-these-eyes-rottweil er&catid=1%3Aartwork-pidney-davidson&Itemid=80 . Not getting anything from this, but he's a great artist IMO. The third wildcats print just was announced today :)

rats on the jury duty, Joe. That bites. You're not having any luck, do you?

Miss Unalaska: not enough females in town for it?

I'll do the blind pick again. Seemed to work last year lol.

Oh, no! Talk about lousy timing! Maybe if you tell the judge you'll sign up for the Miss Unalaska contest if they'll let you go on your vacation! :)

Did my bracket too, for what it's worth, which is not much! :)
