Averages now are highs of 9°F and lows of -9°F. Yikes.

The birthday came and passed and I don't feel much different--except that everyone I know on the planet pretty much wished me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and that's not happened on that scale before. That's the low in the forecast for Monday night and in to Tuesday. Oy, vey (the New Yorker in me rears its I-wanna-go-to-Florida head)! It was -3 during Katie' last walk, and the highs tomorrow aren't supposed to get much above -10°F, so I'm thinking she's an indoor dog for the duration until it gets up above 0°F. Weird day. South of Cantwell on the Parks Hwy is supposed to get 9-18" of the white stuff tomorrow--with possible rates of accummulation topping 2" per hour. This is quite the winter storm that's about to scoot just to the south of us. As it is, we're supposed to get another 1-3" out of it by tomorrow night. The snow that fell last night was nice and fluffy--and there were reports on the radio of folks complaining about visibility a la Rawlins-esque type of blowing snow. I...

Not as bad as it could be, but I'm not really looking forward to standing outside for 45 minutes this morning in -9°F temperatures. Ugh. It's a good thing this isn't going to be going on much longer. :-)Yes, I'm still "working on that novel." After work, I get to clean the living room and kitchen and get back to it. Ah....the silence after a long weekend of kids in the house (they had off Thursday and Friday). :-)
