Here's her Wikipedia link. She was homeported in Ketch, and they had her decommissioning ceremony last week. She's on the gov't auctions site (the ONLY property available in Alaska), and the bid was at $191,575K last I checked... She was laid down in Oct 1942 and launched in April '43. Headed to North Carolina on Thursday. Suddenly. But, that's okay! Time to go eat too much pizza at Villa Roma and eat too much ice cream at Piggies in Hendersonville! I'm hoping for warm.... and dry .... I told my folks they won't recognize their grandson -- tall skinny boy he's become (5'8" and he's only 13!)... I can't wait to see them!

Have a great night!
